Rong’er approached with her sword, ready to help.

However, Ye Chen called out, “Rong’er, you should stay in the city and help there.”

“I won’t.”

But Ye Chen insisted, “Now is not the time for the final battle, it’s only just beginning. We need to stabilize the situation; we’ll step onto the battlefield when the real fight begins.”

As expected, Yuan Menhai led two waves of people in an attack.

Ye Chen was not about to let him succeed and charged out with the Rampage Dragon Beast.

The burly man, still startled by the beasts’ fierce attack on the entrance, muttered, “Damn New City Sect, despicable folks who rear such monsters, all while claiming themselves the force of justice.”

Yuan Menhai, figuring the Xue brothers hadn’t arrived yet, wanted to see if they could take Wasteland City before the brothers got there. Whispering to himself, he said, “Using a simple defense system to keep us at bay, what folly.”

Wind blades flew towards them, signaling the beginning of a full-scale battle.

The momentum of the Third Demon was at its peak. Now was not the best time for a decisive battle. They needed to hold out until there was trouble in Bishui City; this was what Ye Chen was counting on.

Ye Chen used his Dodging Technique, shifting him to the side, as an illusory Green Dragon attacked.

In response, Yuan Menhai wielded the Thunderbolt Palm.

Ye Chen launched several lightning attacks like a land octopus intending to engulf Yuan Menhai.

He retaliated with a shockwave that swallowed all the lightning.

Ye Chen was greatly shocked. He hadn’t expected Yuan Menhai to have such skill – he couldn’t afford to underestimate him.

Yuan Menhai had already leapt dozens of feet into the air. He executed a rapid Dragon Tail Swing, his foot coming down like a Guan Sword. Ye Chen quickly released a shockwave. The two waves of energy collided, emitting a massive amount of energy and demolishing the already crumbled buildings around them. Ye Chen managed to block Yuan Menhai’s killing move.

Immediately following, he gathered a wave of energy and quickly launched an attack, charging directly at Yuan Menhai.
