“Did you succeed?”

“No, we ended up encountering Jue Ming leading a squad, which disrupted our plan, plus it was dark,” Ming Bei admitted.

“You didn’t capture her? I heard rumors that we caught Hong Ying, and Yang Jing is leading a team to attack Bishui City, they might be on their way here right now.” Luo Hai said.

“I didn’t catch her.” Ming Bei turned his head to ask, “What happened with you last night?”

Swearing under his breath, Luo Hai explained, “That damned Er Gui, we almost caught that runt last night. Suddenly, he made an appearance and thwarted our plan, even killing more than a hundred of my men.”

Ming Bei appeared relatively indifferent about the death of Luo Hai’s subordinates.

Ming Bei fell into contemplation.

Luo Hai asked, “Why would the Alliance Leader want you to capture Hong Ying? What is his plan?”

Ming Bei kept mulling it over.

“If Yang Jing leads the people of Ghost City here, would we be able to defend Bishui City?” Luo Hai began to worry.

“The Alliance Leader is probably near Bishui City already,” Ming Bei said.

Luo Hai was taken aback. “You mean the Alliance Leader could be nearby?”

Guo Yuyun had heard about her before, “This is Wan Danrong, right?”

“How do you recognize me?” Wan Danrong was a little surprised.

“I heard about the monkey teaching the young lady from Wan Residence and couldn’t believe it. Turns out it’s true.” Guo Yuyun introduced herself too, “My name is Guo Yuyun, from the Demon Palace.”

Wan Danrong had not heard about Ye Chen’s relationship with this girl.

Having recognized Wan Guangcai, Can Mo thanked him profusely.

“When did you all escape?” Ye Chen asked.

“When I found out you were in Wanshou City, I didn’t know if you would return. I feared you could be in danger here, so I brought people over,” Can Mo replied.

“I’m glad you’re fine.”

“But a lot has happened these past few days,” Can Mo said.

“What happened?” Ye Chen asked.

Can Mo said: “I just found out that last night, Ming Bei and his people ambushed Hong Ying, Yang Jing’s dearest person, on her way back to Ghost City. Now, Yang Jing has arrived under the walls of Bishui City with his men; if they don’t release Hong Ying, they will attack Bishui City.”

Ye Chen was taken aback and asked, “Last night, did Ming Bei attempt to capture Hong Ying?”

“Yes, we just found out. Now Yang Jing, with Gui Lang, has forcefully drafted a group from Ghost City and reached the walls of Bishui City,”

Li Mo said, “But Ming Bei didn’t get hold of Hong Ying.”

“How do you know?” Can Mo asked, puzzled.

Li Mo elaborated on the matter.

After hearing this Can Mo said, “It seems that Hong Ying got separated last night. Yang Jing still doesn’t know Hong Ying is no longer in Ming Bei’s hands.”

“That must be it,” Li Mo claimed.

Ye Chen fell silent for a while, then asked, “Are you sure Ming Bei led the ambush last night, intending to capture Hong Ying?”

Can Mo hastily replied, “Yes, they fought fiercely last night. Jue Ming and his group happened to pass by and joined in, causing chaos. I guess it must be during that time when Hong Ying managed to escape.”

“That’s bad,” sighed Ye Chen.

Unsure, Can Mo asked, “What’s bad?”

Ye Chen said, “If Hong Ying is returned, Yang Jing wouldn’t know about it so soon, this could be a set-up.”

“To lure them to attack Bishui City, and then ambush them?” Can Mo seemed to have a sudden realization.

Upon hearing this, Can Mo blurted, “If the No. One Heroes get defeated, wouldn’t the Third Demon then focus on us, the New City Sect?”

Ye Chen nodded again.
