Guo Yuyun said, “We should go in and find them, they don’t know that we’re here.”

Can Mo, however, said, “We are supposed to find them but not go in like that. Bursting in that way will alarm Yang Jing’s men. After all, it’s his territory.”

Li Mo said, “I’ll take a few agile men with me to find them. Can Mo, you stay here and wait for my news. I’ll find them as soon as I can.”

Guo Yuyun insisted, “I want to go too.”

Can Mo immediately opposed, “No way. It’s dangerous for you to go in. It’s Yang Jing’s territory, and we don’t know the situation inside, maybe Ye Chen has already found a way out.”

Guo Yuyun sniffled indignantly.

“They are safe for now, and there’s no rush. Can Mo said. “I believe we will get news soon. You stay with me and let Li Mo take the men inside.”

With the break of dawn, Rong’er woke up, and Wan Guangcai’s injury was not as severe after some recuperation.

Ye Chen walked up to Rong’er and asked, “Rong’er, how are you feeling? Better?”

Rong’er nodded, “Yes, much better.”

“That’s good. I got really scared last night.”

Rong’er glanced at Ye Chen.

“Now we can’t go back to Wanshou City. Are you planning to leave the Wastelands and hide in the Central Plains?” asked Ye Chen.

The Third Demon was amongst those who killed the Wan Residence, and Wan Guangcai had not had his revenge yet. He said, “No, we will stay in the Wastelands.”

Ye Chen said, “I know you want revenge on the men from the Third Demon, but their power is too strong. For now, you’ll have to be patient.”

Wan Guangcai proposed, “In that case, we will join your New City Sect.” He was aware of the feud between the New City Sect and the Third Demon. Uniting their powers could increase their chances of revenge.

“Joining us… But I’m not sure where we are yet. Besides, the New City Sect is laden with trouble. The Third Demon is still plotting against us. This isn’t a good time.”

Wan Guangcai insisted, “Anyway, we’re not leaving the Wastelands.”

It seemed that he had made up his mind. To challenge the Third Demon alone would be a suicide mission. They weren’t professionals, and it was already tough dealing with the Lin Family. That Yuan Menhai was no joke, not to mention his many monster pets. Who knew what lay ahead.

Zhong Yao, who went to gather information, returned.

Wan Guangcai stood up immediately and asked, “What’s the situation?”

Wan Guangcai advised, “We need to leave here as soon as possible.”

Ye Chen nodded and said, “Right. We can’t stay in Er Gui’s territory. You guys have a score to settle with them; if they decide to retaliate, it could get ugly.”

Wan Guangcai nodded in agreement.

Ye Chen helped Rong’er to her feet.

They hurried their way through the forest, eager to leave Er Gui’s territory as soon as possible.

Wan Guangcai said, “There’s an inn up ahead where we can rest for a while.”

Ye Chen asked, “It’s not related to the Third Demon or the No. One Heroes, is it?”

Wan Guangcai shook his head and said, “No, I frequent that inn; it’s very reliable.”

They soon arrived at the inn, which was situated at a busy intersection teeming with people.

Wan Guangcai explained, “This place doesn’t belong to the Third Demon or the No. One Heroes, they have no interest in claiming it. As far as those associated with the Third Demon are concerned, it’s inconsequential and they’d rather not be bothered with the inn.”

By this point, it was already noon and everyone was tired and hungry.

They were confident that Luo Hai would no longer be thinking about them after suffering a severe blow.

The inn was rather large and bustling with activity.

Ye Chen ordered some food, and also instructed Zhong Yao to prepare some supplies for the journey. Whether they decided to stay in the Wastelands or leave, it was crucial to have enough food on hand.

Suddenly, a group of people who looked like a caravan of merchants entered the inn. Ye Chen, leaning against a corner window, watched them carefully. Although there were guards on the lookout, he couldn’t afford to be careless and kept a vigilant eye on his surroundings.

The leader of the merchants seemed eerily familiar.

He suddenly stood up, causing Wan Danrong to ask, “What’s wrong?”

Ye Chen shook his head, motioning for her to sit down, and said, “I think I just saw people from the New City Sect.” Hurriedly, he left the inn.

It sure was: none other than Li Mo.

Surprised to see Ye Chen, Li Mo quickly dismounted his horse and rushed toward him. He was accompanied by more than a dozen men, and they were hauling a horse car with an unknown passenger inside.

Li Mo, right away, said excitedly, “Sect Leader, where did you vanish off to? We’ve been searching for you high and low!”

Ye Chen, looking around, instructed him to keep his voice down.

Soon, Li Mo and his group were ushered into the inn.

“Weren’t you with the people from the Wan Residence?” he asked.

Ye Chen pointed to a corner of the inn.

“All Wan Residence people?”

“Yes. Are you alone?” Ye Chen questioned.

“No, when we heard about your situation in Wanshou City, Can Mo and I led a team to join you. He brought over a hundred men, but we had to be discreet to avoid detection. When we heard last night that you had fled into Er Gui’s territory, I brought a small group of people to find you,” explained Li Mo.

Ye Chen hurriedly introduced him to Wan Guangcai.

Li Mo greeted Wan Guangcai.

Ye Chen asked again, “Are they nearby? Is it a long journey?”

“No need, they can arrive in half a day,” Li Mo replied, directing the New City Sect disciples behind him to go find something to eat.

Ye Chen asked again, “How is the New City Sect doing?”

Li mo quickly responded, “Things weren’t great for a while there, but after our alliance with the Xue Family, the situation has improved greatly. We’re not as passive or unstable as before.”

Hearing this, Ye Chen felt relieved.

“You gave us quite the scare; we thought you’d been captured and set for public execution at the Sky Domain City,” said Li Mo.

Ye Chen gave a faint smile and said, “Perhaps the heavens aren’t ready to take my life just yet, they think I still have many things left to do.”

Li Mo, clearly excited, said, “As long as you’re safe, that’s all that matters. Can Mo and I have been looking for you for a while, fearing that something might have happened.”

“What did you need me for?” questioned Ye Chen, pouring him a cup of tea.

“We were lost without you; we didn’t know what to do,” confessed Li Mo.

Ye Chen poured himself a cup of tea, saying, “From what I’ve seen, Jiang Zhuge has handled things quite well.”

“In the first month after entering the Dark Zone, we faced numerous dangers and encountered setbacks at every turn. We were surrounded by that big-bearded man’s minions twice and barely managed to escape,” revealed Li Mo.

“You all have had it tough.”

“Hardship is nothing to us, as long as you’re alive, we’ll indeed be fine.” continued Li Mo. “By the way, Yun’er came in too.”

Upon hearing this, Ye Chen asked, “What? How did that crazy girl get in?”

“She heard about the happenings in Wasteland City and wanted to come,” explained Li Mo.

“She must’ve kept it from her daddy.”

Li Mo chuckled and said, “Well, she’s just worried about you, cares for you.”

“She worries about me, that silly girl. Has no idea, doesn’t know any better about the dangers,” Ye Chen muttered.

“Quite frankly, it is quite dangerous. In order to find us, that girl accompanying her was captured by the big-bearded man’s men. If we hadn’t been out that night rescuing those twenty girls, we never would have bumped into her,” recounted Li Mo.

“She truly is a madcap.”
