Chapter 595 - 595 581 A Huge Disaster at the Wan Residence

Chapter 595: Chapter 581: A Huge Disaster at the Wan Residence Chapter 595: Chapter 581: A Huge Disaster at the Wan Residence Boom, boom, boom…

Unsure of what happened, it sounded like thunder, but the sky outside wasn’t dark, nor was it raining. Then, they heard terrifying screams.

Ye Chen quickly rose and rushed from his room. He stopped a frightened servant girl, asking, “What’s happening?”

The girl replied, “Luo Hai of the Third Demon has attacked, claiming we of the Wan Residence secretly collude with the New City Sect, sheltering their Sect Leader. He’s come to capture him.”

Ye Chen was shocked and whispered, “That’s impossible, absolutely impossible. The followers of the Third Demon wouldn’t know I’m here; no one here recognizes me, even the Gui Lang from last time won’t know.”

“We must hurry away. They kill without sight of blood and no matter what the master says they won’t listen. They just kill whoever they see. They’re a group of thugs,” the servant girl spoke urgently.

Ye Chen no longer hesitated. One by one, dozens of Winged Dragons flew into the crowd. They seized people and whisked them away abruptly, like a horde of monsters starved for months.

Screams echoed continuously.

Watching two Winged Dragons about to rush into the courtyard, Ye Chen leapt to action. With two lightning-fast strikes, the dragons were sent back out of the courtyard.

Waving his hand, Ye Chen said, “You all must hurry and leave, get away from here as quickly as you can.” Those here were ordinary people, unpractised in martial arts and unarmed. They were no match for members of the Third Demon, even if their own guards knew some martial arts. It was impossible for them to be better than these assailants who had come prepared.

Ye Chen hastened in the direction of the intruders. Ferocious creatures stormed into the Wan Residence. They seemed intent on razing the residence to the ground. This was more than a capture operation; it was an extermination.

Luo Hai, aided secretly by Lin Wei and his men, had managed to sneak into Wanshou City with three hundred disciples of the Third Demon. They had the entire Wan Residence surrounded by morning.

Wan Guangde didn’t know what had happened. As chaos ensued, Ding Shi returned, reporting, “Luo Hai has brought men to attack. He claims he’s here to capture the Sect Leader of the New City Sect.”

“Nonsense, the Sect Leader of the New City Sect isn’t in the Wan Residence,” Wan Guangde retorted, rallying his men to meet the attackers head-on.

Luo Hai greeted him menacingly.

Angry, Wan Guangde demanded, “Luo Hai, what are you trying to do?” It was apparent they wanted to obliterate the Wan Residence even though they were looking to ally with the Third Demon. He didn’t understand Luo Hai’s motive!

With a cold laugh, Luo Hai replied, “I finally understand why you found it so difficult to get Wanshou City to join the Third Demon, and why you kept stalling. Turns out you were planning to join the New City Sect and ally with them against us.”

“Nonsense, who told you that we didn’t want to join the Third Demon, that we are in alliance with the New City Sect,” Wan Guangde retorted, clouded with confusion. It was the Lin Family who didn’t want to join the Third Demon, not the Wan Family. And he had no idea why they would be accused of colluding with the New City Sect.

A piece of paper flew towards them, “This is the portrait of the Sect Leader of the New City Sect, drawn by someone from your residence.”

“You’re falsely accusing us,” Wan Guangde exclaimed, as he observed the bloody scene where monsters rampaged.

Ye Chen, in an attempt to save people, struck down several of the monsters.

Seeing this, Luo Hai declared, “Still trying to deny? That’s the Sect Leader of New City Sect right there. So, you think you can fool me, huh?! Kill them all, spare none! Except for the kid; all others, kill!”

Wan Guangde caught sight of Ye Chen, dumbfounded. He had never dreamed that his daughter’s mentor would be the Sect Leader of the New City Sect.

Wan Guangcai held back Wan Guangde and said, “These people want to kill us all off.”

Against the aggressive Luo Hai, leading a large party and a host of rampaging monsters, the Wan Residence was quickly going up in smoke. Many buildings were already aflame.

Wan Danrong dashed out from the burning house, where everything was in complete chaos – it was a slaughterhouse.

Ye Chen charged at Luo Hai. Although Luo Hai’s martial arts skills were poor, he had the support of his eight-comrade combat force. Together, they could command a horde of monsters. As the monsters rushed at Ye Chen, he tried to employ the strategy of ‘capture the leader to capture the thieves’, but getting close proved impossible.

Despite Luo Hai only having three hundred followers, there were also hundreds of monsters, enough to exhaust Ye Chen. Winged Dragons kept diving down from the sky.

Boom, boom, boom. Wan Guangde had already been seriously injured.

Wan Guangcai noticed that the situation was getting out of hand. At that point, protecting the people of the residence was almost impossible, let alone himself. Most of the place was already under Luo Hai’s control.

Wan Guangcai said, “Big brother, we’re no match for them. We must think of a way to escape, or we’ll all die here.” As he spoke, he directed his gaze towards Rong’er who was fighting fiercely against men dressed in black.

“Ding Shi, let’s go now,” directed Wan Guangde.

The city was already in ruins.

Wan Danrong was fighting fiercely when she was held back by her teacher who said, “Rong’er, we need to go now or none of us will be able to.”

Ye Chen couldn’t afford to hesitate any longer. At this moment, Luo Hai had already gone mad.

Luo Hai stated, “Want to escape? No chance.” He launched several energy attacks.

Ye Chen quickly jumped forward, blocking Luo Hai’s attacks.

While Wan Guangde and his men attempted to retreat, they were repeatedly thwarted by Luo Hai.

Seeing this, Ye Chen knew that someone must stay behind to hold them off. Otherwise, with so many followers of the Third Demon closing in, no one would be able to escape.

Launching several lightning-fast strikes, Ye Chen cut off the advancing men and monsters. He called out, “Master Wan, you all must hurry and go!”

Upon seeing the chaos, Wan Guangde understood that if they didn’t leave now, they would all be killed. His residence had transformed into a slaughterhouse; although he was ready to face death, his innocent daughter and new wife didn’t deserve such a fate.

The enemy would not spare them. They had exhausted all their energy and it would be a great achievement if they could escape.

However, Wan Danrong was stubborn – she refused to leave Ye Chen behind.

Ye Chen knew this wasn’t the time for emotions. If they didn’t retreat now, everyone would die. He shouted again, “Hurry, go. I can’t hold on much longer.”

“No, I don’t want to,” cried Wan Danrong.

Wan Guangde remained composed despite the situation. Although Feng Niang was also reluctant to leave, she was injured.

He made the decision and shouted, “Go, we need to go.”

As Ye Chen saw a horde of people advancing from the back, he launched two Green Dragons with his palms toward both flanks. The giants ravaged everything; trees and buildings tumbled in their wake, blocking the enemy’s path, including Luo Hai and his men.

“Bastard, I’ll capture you today,” said Luo Hai, “Make sure he’s alive. Remember to capture him alive. I’ll deliver him to the Alliance Leader as proof of what happens to those who oppose the Third Demon.”

Rong’er and Feng Niang hesitated to leave. However, the building had already collapsed and Ye Chen disappeared to the other side of the ruined area.

Wan Guangde led his daughter and Wan Guangcai to retreat. But suddenly, a masked figure in black emerged from behind, landing a solid hit to Wan Guangde’s chest and causing him to spit blood on the spot.

The assailant was none other than Lin Wei. He couldn’t let the Wan Family survive – they would seek revenge if they found out his secret. If he could kill Wan Guangde, the backbone of the Wan Family, they wouldn’t be able to pose any threat in the future.

“Who are you?” Wan Guangcai was trying to support his injured brother.

The masked man didn’t want to waste time talking. The forty or so men he had brought along also moved forward for the attack.

Despite his injuries, Wan Guangde fought ferociously against his attackers.

But the numbers of the assailants were increasing and he was barely managing to hold them off. He turned and said, “Brother, help Rong’er and Feng Niang escape. I beg you.”

Wan Guangcai understood that if they didn’t escape now, everyone would be trapped. The numbers of the masked men were multiplying, and they were becoming increasingly hard to confront.

Ding Shi said, “Yun Jie, leave now.” He also had to stay and help Wan Guangde. Rong’er was knocked unconscious by Wan Guangcai.

Withholding his tears, Wan Guangcai said, “Let’s go.”

They entered a secret tunnel inside the garden. After entering, they sealed the tunnel entrance. It was not easy to break into the tunnel, let alone pass through it smoothly.

Inside the tunnel were numerous traps – it was impossible for outsiders to pass through easily. Wan Guangcai hurriedly ushered the group to pass through the tunnel.

Wan Guangde looked at the masked man, recognizing the familiarity, and said, “You are Lin Wei.”

Lin Wei was taken aback, then sneered, “How did you know?”

“All this chaos, it’s all your handiwork. You started all this, and you deliberately caused trouble,” accused Wan Guangde.

Lin Wei sneered, “Who would believe you now?”

“For the sake of ruling Wanshou City, you would harm us like this?” retorted Wan Guangde.

“As long as you exist, we’ll never have a day of peace in Wanshou City.”

“Did we desecrate your ancestors’ graves? Why would you harm us like this?” said an angry Wan Guangde.

“You colluded with the people from the New City Sect.”

“Whether it’s us who colluded with the New City Sect or you who are up to mischief, you know it well.”

Lin Yongwen said: “Enough with the chatter. Kill them all, then hunt down those who escaped.”

Half of the men that came with Ding Shi were either dead or injured.

Ye Chen was a single man fighting against a prepared Luo Hai and his group. Despite his strength in martial arts, he was outnumbered.

Sparks flew as Ye Chen fought, leaving destruction in his wake. Luo Hai wanted to get closer but was forced to keep retreating by Ye Chen.

“The brat has some skills, but it’s unfortunate… today, no escape is possible. I must capture you alive,” Luo Hai muttered.

Looking back, Ye Chen saw that everyone else had managed to get away. Now, he was left alone and needed to make his escape.
