Fireballs rained down, wreaking havoc inside the city. The majority were intercepted by the city’s defense system, but a few still slipped through and caused damage.

However, most of the people who lived near the city gates and couldn’t help had already relocated to the mountains. This softened the concerns about chaos breaking out within the city. Yu Qing took lead in the efforts to extinguish the fires.

Mituom Monk and Slaughter Saint launched their attack, leading a horde of monsters that stormed the battlements like zombies.

The residents from the Immortal Demon World had prepared for their assault. Winged Dragons swarmed the sky, as dense as a cloud, an unsettling number that couldn’t easily be counted.

Many creatures, unknown to the people of the Immortal Demon World, came pouring in. These were monsters brought back from the 108 islands by the Dragon Slaying Clan. They were ferocious and gigantic, rushing in like evil spirits.

Qiao Fanfeng and Guo Mingyu stood at the front, responsible for defending the flanks. Fang Ziren, leading others, was responsible for handling the monsters that managed to infiltrate the city and for putting out fires.

The situation was chaotic, with some monsters still breaking into the city. Starving and ferocious, they attacked anyone they saw. But the people of the Immortal City would never let these creatures penetrate deeper. They knew they couldn’t prevent the monsters and Dragon Slaying Clan from invading, but they were resolute not to let them reach the heart of the city.

More and more Winged Dragons from the Dragon Slaying Clan began to appear in the sky above the city. The mighty defense system kicked in to aid the disciples of the Immortal Demon World and the Immortal Beasts in their fight against the demons.

The Dragon Slaying Clan was ferocious in their attack, but the people of the Immortal Demon World were well-prepared. There was no panic.

Su Hong observed from atop the city wall.

Ren Xiongbei commented, “Luckily we were well prepared.”

Su Hong anticipated Mutant Winged Dragon’s involvement and looked forward to seeing his progress. If he couldn’t handle the situation, they’d need to rethink their strategies.

An hour or so had passed, Mituom Monk and Slaughter Saint appeared, but the arrogant Mutant Winged Dragon was nowhere to be seen. Ren Xiongbei stated, “Seems like Mutant Winged Dragon has decided not to show up today.”

“By the way, are we sure that Mutant Winged Dragon is with them?” Su Hong inquired.

“Absolutely. We saw him ascending the mountain,” Ren Xiongbei confirmed.

“It seems the Army of Death hasn’t attacked,” Guan Yi noted.

“Right, it seems they are trying to gauge our strength,” Ren Xiongbei concurred.

Guan Yi speculated, “Perhaps they haven’t found a way to break the Great Taiji Array.”

“They’re trying to find our weak spots,” Ren Xiongbei explained. “Sect Leader, it took us eighteen years to rebuild the Great Taiji Array. It’s ten times stronger than before, and it’s not something that ordinary people can break. Sect Leader, you can rest assured.”

Ren Xiongbei said, “Sect Leader, you should head back. Since Mutant Winged Dragon isn’t taking action, I don’t see the need for you to either.”

Su Hong glanced over the city. Seven or eight places were ablaze and some Winged Dragons were running around chaotically.

Moreover, some monsters were being catapulted from outside onto the city walls.
