Chapter 235 - 235 225 Gua Zhengnie is not an opponent

Chapter 235: Chapter 225: Gua Zhengnie is not an opponent Chapter 235: Chapter 225: Gua Zhengnie is not an opponent Gua Zhengnie was taken aback. He was somewhat in disbelief, but he summoned a powerful energy just like a blanket covering the sky and lunged forward. In blink of an eye, the energy was already in front of him.

The old man unleashed a Light Wave, blocking all the energies. Using the Swift Movement Technique, he broke through the energies, shot out another wave of energy from the other palm, just like a bolt from the blue. It directly knocked the mid-air Gua Zhengnie back to the ground.

Gua Zhengnie almost stumbled upon landing.

At that moment, the Western Old Man and Gui Lang swooped in.

Upon seeing this, Shen Tian prepared to help, but the Zen Master waved his hand and denied it.

Two men attacked from either side simultaneously, their powerful energies forced the Zen Master to move back two steps.

With a whirl, he evaded Gui Lang. His palms returned a punch in swift succession and with a loud bang, it struck the fist of Elder Xi Feng first, causing him to be thrown out before dealing with Gui Lang. Gui Lang was knocked to the ground within three moves by the Zen Master.

Gua Zhengnie conjured up more than a dozen shadows, attacking the Zen Master from all sides. However, a powerful energy put up a barrier against all the shadows. His right hand released several light beams which, like goddess sprinkling flowers, burst out. They broke through the protective circle and attacked the shadow figures. All the conjured shadows were swallowed, leaving only the true body behind.

Leaping up and hovering mid-air, he made a palm strike.

Gua Zhengnie tried to block with a palm strike, but he had no chance at all. He was forced to retreat, and sent flying a considerable distance.

Gui Lang and Elder Xi Feng quickly came to help. Only by joining forces did they manage to dissipate the powerful energy landing towards them.

The Zen Master instantly unleashed three green dragons, rushing at the three. With a loud bang, it broke the energy walls formed by the three, knocking them flying out with a blast.

Through the dispersing smoke, the three men looked dumbfounded.

Gui Lang seemed unwilling to admit defeat, and wanted to fly over but was called off by Gua Zhengnie.

Gua Zhengnie said, “I can join you but under one condition – you must help me wipe out the New City Sect.” It appeared he had understood something.

But the Zen Master sneered and said, “I have no such obligation.”

Yang Jing quickly said to Gua Zhengnie, “The arrival of the Zen Master wasn’t to wipe out any particular sects, he’s here to unify the Wastelands.”

“Then could you kill Wei Sisan for me?” Gua Zhengnie asked.

“Heh, it depends on whether I want to.” the Zen Master replied arrogantly.

“Even such a small wish, you aren’t willing to fulfill. Isn’t asking me to join you asking too much?”

At this point, Elder Xi Feng said, “Earth King, believe me, Wei Sisan will not give in. He certainly won’t join them, as long as we join them.”

Upon hearing this, Gua Zhengnie felt encouraged by the idea.

“Are we joining them?” Gui Lang asked.

Meanwhile, the Zen Master’s followers had surrounded Gua Zhengnie’s men, seeming ready to have them rounded up.

Elder Xi Feng added, “Once we join them, Wei Sisan definitely won’t.”

Gua Zhengnie understood Elder Xi Feng’s intention. He soon nodded, saying, “Alright, I agree. I’ll join you, but could you tell me which sect you belong to?”

“I will tell you,” replied the Zen Master. “But not now. I’ll tell you once I’ve unified the Wastelands.”

“Chief, do you think they really have the ability to unify the Wastelands?” Gui Lang asked quietly.

Gua Zhengnie glanced at him, “I believe. Someone who can get Shen Tian and Shen Li to follow would certainly be no ordinary person.” More importantly, he knew that if he disagreed, it would mean war. For now, he could only agree.

The news of Gua Zhengnie and his followers joining the Zen Master’s camp spread throughout the Wastelands swiftly.

Wei Sisan was both surprised and confused. He had never thought that the arrogant Gua Zhengnie would someday submit to someone else. This certainly surprised him, but it happened for real.

He immediately summoned several influential leaders for a discussion.

“It seems the Zen Master is truly remarkable,” Can Mo commented.

“If Gua Zhengnie has indeed joined the Zen Master, would it be dangerous for us?” Kong Sha asked.

“Yes,” replied Can Mo, “Gua Zhengnie, at this point, hates us the most. Will he ask the Zen Master to help fight against us?”

“That’s highly possible,” Li Mo pointed out. “He dislikes us so much, and we have just driven him out of Wasteland City. He’s surely very resentful. He may likely collude with the one called Zen Master, and ask him to help fight against us.”

“The Zen Master’s sudden appearance and his unstoppable momentum have caught Gua Zhengnie and his followers. Perhaps he doesn’t mean well. Even without Gua Zhengnie, he will still target the New City Sect.” Wei Sisan pondered over it for a while and then commanded, “Stop guessing aimlessly. The important thing right now is that we should get prepared for a combat.”

“It seems the Zen Master truly wants to unify the Wastelands,” commented Kong Sha.

“I think the people from the Sky Domain Sect wouldn’t want to join him,” Can Mo hesitated.

“Who could predict that this Zen Master would come so fast? In just a few days, he managed to defeat Gua Zhengnie. That’s too quick.”

“Not just fast, but at the speed of lightning.”

“Everyone, be cautious and don’t neglect. Find out where they are now!” Wei Sisan wanted to get prepared for the possible encounter.

Kong Sha nodded. They would have to wait for the news from the Central Plains, which would take some time.

“Gua Zhengnie, Yang Jing and Jue Ming have all joined them. It’s possible they will strike us under their instigation,” Can Mo voiced his concern.

The fact that Gua Zhengnie, Yang Jing, and Jue Ming had all succumbed to them so easily was certainly smooth, but the Zen Master knew that he couldn’t fully trust these three people.

Shen Li recounted the incidents that had occurred before their arrival at Wasteland City, “Those three, each of them has had their pride trampled by the New City Sect. We can’t easily believe their words. They certainly hope we will help them fight against the New City Sect.”

“Well, that’s true. However, dealing with the New City Sect, with its current momentum, won’t be as easy to get them to join us as it was with Gua Zhengnie,” Meng Xiuluo commented.

This hit a nerve with the Zen Master.

“We should take action and show them our strength. They may get scared and join us,” added Shen Tian.

“There are only the New City Sect and the Sky Domain Sect left now. In order to unify the Wastelands, we must take over Wasteland City. Zen Master, which sect should we target first?” asked Meng Xiuluo.

“Start with the New City Sect.”

“To deal with the New City Sect, we must first take Tianle City,” Meng Xiuluo said.

“I wonder if the Sky Domain Sect will help them,” Shen Li worried.

“The New City Sect and the Sky Domain Sect have no dealings.”

The Zen Master also felt a battle was necessary. You must make a name for yourselves in the Wastelands to intimidate both the New City Sect and the Sky Domain Sect.

Shen Tian said, “Well then, I will be in charge of capturing Tianle City.”

Meng Xiuluo said, “Wasteland City is still open. I will go there and understand the situation.”

The Zen Master nodded and said, “Shen Tian, you lead Gua Zhengnie and the others to capture Tianle City. However, do not annihilate them. We’ll see how things go.”

Shen Tian understood what the Zen Master meant. His mission was to unify the Wastelands, not to destroy the New City Sect unless absolutely necessary.

Shen Tian declared, “Alright, I will prepare.”

“Don’t let Gua Zhengnie and Yang Jing influence you,” the Zen Master warned Shen Tian.

Shen Tian nodded and said, “Don’t worry, they might not even be able to sway me.”

“Meng Xiuluo, you go to Wasteland City to see what the situation is like.”

Meng Xiuluo nodded upon hearing this and quickly organized a dozen people to speed toward Wasteland City.

Hearing that the Zen Master’s next target was the New City Sect and Tianle City, Gua Zhengnie and the others were thrilled.

Wei Sisan and his people swiftly prepared. They knew that sooner or later, something was bound to happen. Those who dared to enter the Wastelands must have come prepared.

Ye Chen stayed in Ling’er’s yard. He enjoyed good food and accommodation for two days, even though there were no girls to serve him. He said, “I’m afraid if I continue living like this, I’ll get fat and become a pig that can’t move.”

“Then why are you still reclining here? Everyone else is so busy that they almost don’t have time to eat,” Ling’er said.

“You won’t starve.”

Ye Chen leisurely rocked in his chair.

“Can’t you take this seriously and do some work?”

“The work has mostly been completed by all of you. I doubt I’ll be of much use,” Ye Chen replied.

“The people brought by the Zen Master will be here soon.”

“The Zen Master’s target is the New City Sect, which doesn’t harm us innocent people.”

“Where did you hear all this from?”

“That’s what people on the streets are talking about. They say the Zen Master has already taken over several cities and treats better than us. They don’t harass the people. Everyone continues to live their lives as usual.”

“Heh, so in your opinion, whether or not the Zen Master conquers Wasteland City doesn’t matter.”

“It seems so,” replied Ye Chen.

“So that’s what you think.”

“As long as no one dies, anything is fine.”

“Don’t you have a conscience? Do you realize how serious this is? Those people do this deliberately. They don’t even tell us who they are or where they came from. It’s their strategy to entrap gullible people like you. Once you’re all in their pot, they’ll lead you around and murder people. By the time you realise and want to resist, it will be too late,” Ling’er said anxiously.

“Wow, impressive. You figured all that out,” Ye Chen said.

“If everyone in Wasteland City thinks like you, we’re doomed. They’re going to rule over us, and you’re willing! That’s cowardice. As a person of the Wastelands, we should actively resist.”

“I’ve only been living in the Wastelands for a few years. Actually, I’m from the Central Plains, not from the Wastelands.”

“You remember that very clearly.”

“Yes, I must make sure to remember.”

“Stop eating. Once you’ve had enough, you only spout nonsense,” Ling’er said angrily.

“Make some food.”

Ling’er yelled, “Don’t prepare food for this guy anymore!”

“Ouch, why though, aren’t you hungry?”

“I’m not hungry.”

Just then, a message came from outside. Someone had come to call Ye Chen over. It was someone from Wei Sisan’s team.

“Did something happen?” Ling’er asked first.

“This is bad. Something’s happened in Tianle City.”

“What, is the Zen Master attacking Tianle City?” asked Ling’er.

“Yes, the Sect Leader wants Ye Chen to go there immediately.”

Ye Chen slowly stood up.

“What are you waiting for? Hurry up,” Ling’er said urgently, pushing Ye Chen to leave.

“Just now, you were saying that you wouldn’t feed me. You’re really fickle.”

“Tianle City is in trouble. Can you please take this more seriously? Future Sect Leader.”

“Call me your future husband, and I’ll definitely go.”

With a swift kick heading his way, Ye Chen quickly dodged.
