Chapter 1441 - 1441 1427 Tears

Chapter 1441: Chapter 1427: Tears Chapter 1441: Chapter 1427: Tears Yang Tao’er broke into a cold sweat. It was obvious that she had enraged the hulking figure. If it pounced at her, she would be unrecognizable to her godfather in an instant.

Luckily, two creatures leaped out, providing temporary relief and allowing her to avert disaster.

But the three Silver Needles had only hit three spots, leaving plenty of acupoints untouched.

The Wolf King and two lion-like monsters tumbled on the ground. One bit and tore to the left, the other pulled to the right. Without hesitation, the Wolf King lunged at the most ferocious one with its jaws wide open.

Indeed, besides its two scythe-like claws that posed the greatest threat, it also had a gaping maw with teeth no less formidable than those of the lion-dogs. Its bite force was comparable to a crocodile’s.

Clearly, it intended to deal with the one biting its thigh first, while the other clung to its back.

The mutant beast was bitten on the neck, the most lethal area, followed by the flash of its shiny claws, greeting the body of the beast fiercely.

Yang Tao’er longed to continue casting Silver Needle spells, but it was difficult as the three animals were wrestling on the ground, and of the seven or eight needles she released, only two hit their mark.

Yun’er urged, “You need to hurry up.”

“I would if I could, but who dares to get close?”

Yun’er fumbled in her arms, checking for any remaining Crystal Beasts, seeing that the two creatures would be subdued shortly. She found two Firebirds.

A claw reached under the belly of the beast biting its thigh and came out through the back.

That one stopped struggling, but the Wolf King was not satisfied and proceeded to tear it into pieces. Three mutant beasts were reduced to two, and the last one, still biting its back, dragged it backward. After a struggle, the Wolf King was covered in blood.

It was entangled in Magic Power,

No, it was the faint effect of the Silver Needles.

The Wolf King picked up a stone and smashed the Crystal Beast on its back like a hammer crushing a dung beetle. The Crystal Beast quickly let go and retreated a few steps but kept its eyes fixed on the figure covered in wolf fur as the Wolf King rose from the ground.

Whining menacingly, it unfolded its arms as it peered at the mutant beast.

Yun’er swiftly released the Firebirds to join the fight.

Yang Tao’er seized the opportunity from behind to release more Silver Needles. The needles stimulated his meridians to provide Ye Chen with greater energy, helping him suppress the Magic Power and slowly regain consciousness to avoid being controlled by it.

Obviously, his condition was very bad.

As the Firebird took flight, a Fireball descended. He dodged, and the blast threw him back.

Yun’er was puzzled. She wondered if releasing the Firebird might kill him, but that was impossible. The Firebird posed no lethal threat to him; he could heal himself. Her concern was that once the Wolf King dealt with the mutant beast, she would be in danger. She released the Firebird out of necessity, to support him.

The Wolf King scrambled up from the ground, hissing with rage. With a roar, he prepared to leap and tear apart the Fireball-spewing creature.

However, the mutant beast that lunged at him caused both to tumble down, followed by fierce roars and the sound of biting. It was like a lion encroaching on a tiger’s territory, unable to extricate itself from the fight.

Clutching each other, they bit fiercely. Yang Tao’er wanted to apply the Silver Needles but had no chance.

Not one of the three mutant beasts was a match for the Wolf King. How could the last one possibly stand against him?

A continuous howling was followed by a frontal kick that sent the mutant beast flying. Before it could rise, the Wolf King pounced, ensuing cries of agony.

It was like a slaughtered lamb with no chance to fight back,

And the Wolf King singlehandedly defeated all three mutant beasts.

Just as it roared to declare its victory, two Fireballs struck him, blasting him away. However, he quickly got up, flame still licking his body and the smell of burnt fur in the air.

The Wolf King disregarded the flames on its back, as if unaffected.

The two Firebirds, one to the left and one to the right, continued to release Fireballs. Although the Fireballs approached, the Wolf King was prepared and dodged them swiftly. Like a lizard that could fly, he clambered up walls. A Fireball pursued him, but using a stone for leverage, he sprang up with his scythe-like arms raised.

The Firebird probably never dreamed it would end so swiftly. With a swift stroke, it was cleaved out of the air, leaving only a few feathers fluttering down.

The other bird, frightened, tried to fly higher, but the Wolf King grabbed a stone from the ground and hurled it like a skull-crushing boulder. The Firebird dodged one stone but could not avoid another strike to its wings. With a resounding crash, it fell to the ground, where the Wolf King stepped on it, reducing it to ashes.

Yang Tao’er managed to hit the Wolf King’s back with several more Silver Needles, but the Wolf King turned around too late to hide in the crevices of the rocks. With a howl, the Wolf King lunged at her, and she seemed doomed to be crushed to dust.

Yun’er quickly drew her sword, and several sword shadows struck the Wolf King, slashing him down.

The Wolf King fell heavily, seemingly enraged beyond control, and roared as it charged at Yun’er.

Yun’er released what seemed to be countless sword shadows, but the Wolf King didn’t care at all. Many hit him, but they did not slow him down.

He charged with a cry like the wail of a ghost, his hand chopped Yun’er’s sword into numerous segments. Grasping her neck with one hand, he choked her and pressed her against the wall. Her feet dangled in the air, kicking continuously, resembling someone being hanged. As his other hand was about to disembowel her,

Yang Tao’er shook her head, yelling, “No.” Several threads of energy targeted the Wolf King’s back.

Striking the Wolf King, he turned around, and his other hand did not pierce into her chest.

But he glared fiercely at Yang Tao’er and roared at her.

Yang Tao’er saw his bloody paw, its blood left by the Immortal Beasts he had encountered before.

“No, he is Yun’er, the wife you are to marry. You can’t kill her.”

The Wolf King looked at her, but then his head ached terribly again, a result of Magic Power and evil energy, as well as the effect of the Silver Needle he had released.

Struggling Yun’er pulled out Silver Needles and jabbed directly at both temples.

The Wolf King howled in pain.

One hand still tightly clutched her neck, the other held his aching head.

Yang Tao’er, worried that if he did not let go soon, Yun’er might suffocate, noticed Yun’er’s face turning pale.

More Silver Needles flew towards the Wolf King, followed by her throwing a rock at his back. Unexpectedly, with a swing of his other hand, she was thrown several meters away, hitting the wall hard.

The Wolf King turned back, cradling his aching head, and howled at Yun’er, who was pinned against the wall.

Yun’er closed her eyes, and a hot tear squeezed out, sliding down her face and landing in his eye.

Then, as if by magic, whether it was the tear or the Silver Needles—or perhaps it was both—the Wolf King’s grip loosened. Gazing at that familiar face, he seemed to be recalling something. Perhaps remembering who she was, he astonishingly did not disembowel her. What could be more miraculous than that?

Ignoring her injuries, Yang Tao’er leapt up and struck him with her palm, and a wave of energy sent him flying.

Yun’er collapsed by the wall while the Wolf King, holding his head, wailed as if possessed by a demon.

Yang Tao’er ran over, murmuring, “No, please don’t be like this.”

With no breath left, she patted Yun’er’s face and checked her pulse. Her body still retained some warmth. Punching her chest and shouting Yun’er’s name, she ignored everything else. Fortunately, the Wolf King did not approach them, or both would have been disemboweled.

A cough broke the silence.

She had pulled through. In an instant, Yang Tao’er became overwhelmed with relief, almost scared out of her wits, thinking Yun’er was beyond saving. It was those punches that worked; without them, Yun’er would not have come back to life.

Yun’er touched herself, surprised that he had not skewered her like he did the mutant beasts. It was incredible. Could it have been that single tear that awakened his consciousness? They said that only someone deep in one’s heart could awaken him. Could it be…?

The Wolf King was still in turmoil, as if haunted. This was a golden opportunity. If they didn’t take advantage of it to place the Silver Needles now, when else could they? She called out, “Yang Tao’er, quick, otherwise he will lose control again.”

Elated, Yang Tao’er stood up. Each took a side and, while the Wolf King was entangled, found the right spots and sent over a dozen Silver Needles flying at him.

The Wolf King unleashed a furious roar, an ear-splitting howl, and began to attack again, though not as resolutely or terrifyingly as before, perhaps disrupted by the Silver Needles’ effect.

He was trying to force the needles out; a few had already been pushed out.

No, this couldn’t go on, or it would all be in vain, and they’d have to start all over again.

“He’s forcing out the Silver Needles,” Yun’er murmured.

“Yes, I saw it too. We can’t let him succeed,” Yang Tao’er said as she threw three boxes that arranged into a triangular formation, opened them up, and released lightning bolts that twined around the Wolf King. He hadn’t managed to push out all the Silver Needles before he was caught by the triangle of lightning, pulling him almost to his knees.

“Hurry, replenish the needles he’s forced out,” said Yang Tao’er.

Yun’er nodded in agreement.

While the Wolf King was restrained, Yang Tao’er and she quickly replaced all the Silver Needles and even added where they hadn’t been able to before.

With all the Silver Needles in place, lightning burst forth from the punctured spots. Electricity radiated from within, spreading outward from over a dozen points, then connected, forming a net made of electric rays that completely enveloped the Wolf King, like capturing a wild boar with a net.

The lightning from the three boxes held two hands and one body, forming an electric net.

The Wolf King wailed in agony while the dark energy swirling around him continued to revolve.
