Chapter 1349 - 1349 1335 Wolf Kings Ring

Chapter 1349: Chapter 1335: Wolf King’s Ring Chapter 1349: Chapter 1335: Wolf King’s Ring Immediately following, a loud explosion rang out from very close by, as if it were inside the village, coming from the north, while the initial sounds of battle had been heard from the east. Now, mixed with those sounds, came cries of battle from the north.

The members of the Dragon Slaying Clan became even more restless, as if they saw an opportunity, and Guo Yuyun became more determined, believing that someone had come to rescue them.

She couldn’t be left behind—she had to escape with them.

Meng Xiuluo saw that intense fighting had broken out in the east, and Wu Xinyou and Zang Di had both headed there. Ye Chen was still entangled with Zang Di; most of their people had gone east, so there was no better time than now to seize the opportunity and make their move.

Releasing the monster in her hand and with the help of the Winged Dragon, she blew open the thinnest part of the wall, threw in a cloud of black smoke, and killed her way through the chaos, knowing exactly where the dungeon was located.

Explosions and battle cries came from the west, quickly arousing suspicion in Wu Xinyou who murmured to herself before calling out, “Leader, their target must be to help rescue the people of the Dragon Slaying Clan.”

Lowering his head to contemplate, Zang Di called out, “Hurry back and block them off.”

Ye Chen knew that the crazy old woman was about to act. The success or failure of their escape depended on whether they could keep Zang Di at bay. If they let Zang Di return, it was very likely their plan would fail. No matter what, they had to entangle Zang Di, not caring about anything else. First, force-feed this mad dog and figure out whether he knew pain—hit him with a bolt of lightning first.

Shi Chengyuan saw the fight break out in the north, and as Wu Xinyou received the order from Zang Di to extricate himself, guessing he wanted to go back and deal with the members of the Dragon Slaying Clan, Shi wouldn’t let Wu Xinyou leave. If he could use this opportunity to rescue the people of the Dragon Slaying Clan, it would be a great help to them.

They had already promised to cooperate with the people of the Demon Clan at the right time, so as long as they could rescue them, it would naturally be more advantageous for them to deal with Zang Di and his ilk. It was a critical moment; he would not let Wu Xinyou escape.

Boom, boom…

A powerful wave of energy headed toward Ye Chen. Zang Di was infuriated, giving off a sensation of being burnt. Ye Chen seemed to smell the odor of roasted meat, feeling fiery hot all over his body. He had reached his limit, yet now was the most crucial moment. Judging from the sounds of artillery, it was the most tense moment. If he could just entangle Zang Di, then the chances of a successful rescue were great.

Zang Di grew even more convinced that this was a conspiracy. Wu Xinyou was tangled up by Shi Chengyuan and couldn’t break free; it was likely he couldn’t return to help.

He had to figure out a way to get rid of this meddlesome young man. By now, he roughly understood Ye Chen’s level. Just increasing his strength a little more, the kid would definitely not be able to withstand it. First, he had to kill this nosy kid.

Suddenly, he transformed into a red Fire Dragon and charged directly at Ye Chen.

Like a flame, he enveloped Ye Chen. Ye Chen conjured an Energy Barrier, completely encasing himself within it, as the flame burned on the outside and the protective circle kept shrinking. Damn it, the guy with the white hair really isn’t coming to help.

Ye Chen felt like he was bearing the weight of a mountain, a weight so heavy he could hardly breathe.

He was about to be devoured by the flames.

He couldn’t even run; unless he could burrow into the ground, which he unfortunately couldn’t. He felt like a bug that could be squashed at any moment.

Zang Di became increasingly excited, laughing, “Kid, you chose the wrong opponent. Be more low-key in your next life.” He was about to turn him to ash with a blaze.

Perhaps it was the instinct to survive, Ye Chen pulled out the Wolf King’s Ring. Before going mad, he had to take down this guy first. How could he just be killed like this? He hadn’t continued his lineage yet.

“Kid, prepare to die.”

With a bang, something unexpected happened. A powerful energy burst forth from inside the Energy Barrier, blasting through it with a shockwave that rushed out swiftly, colliding with the external fist and shattering it with a loud noise.

Zang Di’s eyes flashed with shock. What on earth happened? How could such a strong energy have shot out? The kid should have been almost done; it made no sense.

A glowing ring appeared in his hands, becoming ever more dazzling, like a sword thrusting forward.

Wave after wave of energy burst forth three times. Ye Chen began his counterattack, murmuring, “So, you want to turn me into roasted meat?” He bore the mentality of someone with a score to settle.

All the energy exploded toward Zang Di, who was somewhat caught off guard, unprepared for the assault.

Perhaps it was the sheer power of the energy, which caught him by surprise. Hundreds of streaks of red and blue lightning burst forth from the ring, one after another, bombarding Zang Di with booming sounds…

Striking Zang Di, disorienting him, if it were not for his exceptionally thick skin that was impervious to blades and spears, he would have been blown apart long ago.

Nearly every streak of lightning hit Zang Di. He clung to the ground fiercely, but the overwhelming power still blasted him away.

Flung a dozen or so yards, he crashed into the ground like a meteorite, turning the area within ten yards into wasteland.

Everyone was stunned.

Shi Chengyuan was also astonished; the bargain deal had actually blown Zang Di away. Standing there like a prince in the wind, what was in his hand, emitting red and blue light? The Wolf King’s Ring, without a doubt. Only the Wolf King’s Ring possessed such formidable power.

The Scorpion Witch flew over as well and glanced at Shi Chengyuan before saying, “It’s the Wolf King’s Ring.”

Shi Chengyuan nodded; he too had not expected the Wolf King’s Ring to have made its way to Slaughter Island.

The Scorpion Witch said, “Keep an eye on that kid.”

Shi Chengyuan understood what the Scorpion Witch meant.

Wu Xinyou was also taken aback, muttering to himself, “Just who is this kid!”

Zang Di, covered in wounds, crawled out from the ruins, saying, “It’s the Wolf King’s Ring.” His body bore many injuries, all recent acquisitions. Though the scars densely marked his skin, he still managed to stand resolutely as if they were of little consequence.

Wu Xinyou rushed over, having worried that Zang Di was done for. If he had indeed perished, Wu Xinyou would have had to make other plans. Fortunately, seeing Zang Di climb out of the pit renewed his hopes, and he murmured, “What is that in the kid’s hand?”

Zang Di dusted himself off and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, stating, “The Wolf King’s Ring.”

“What, that’s the Wolf King’s Ring?”

“If I’m not mistaken, it should be the Wolf King’s Ring.” When the ring emitted energy earlier, he thought he glimpsed a wave shape.

“It seems the Wolf King’s Ring was in the hands of the New City Sect Leader.”

“It must be him.” Zang Di spat out a mouthful of phlegm streaked with blood, clearly indicating the severity of his injuries from the blow.

“I heard that kid was with the people from the Thirty-Six Islands, even helped them defeat Qiandu Xiang, and narrowly avoided demonic possession. But I didn’t hear that the inhabitants of the Thirty-Six Islands had come to Slaughter Island.”

“Who cares, we must seize the Wolf King’s Ring from his hands,” Zang Di pondered. With the Wolf King’s Ring in his possession, he could rely on no one else. As for who will rule the one hundred and eight islands in the future, that’s still up in the air. As long as he has the Wolf King’s Ring, he would fear no one.

“Right, just grab his ring,” another voice agreed.

Zang Di nodded slightly.

Suddenly, Ye Chen realized that those guys were leering at him, barely stopping short of drooling. He muttered to himself, “I’m in trouble now. It seems I’ve really stirred up a hornet’s nest.” Not only were Zang Di and Wu Xinyou watching him, but even the white-haired man from afar had a peculiar gleam in his eye, harboring strange intentions.

The Scorpion Witch declared, “We need to snatch the ring from his hands.” At the moment, starting a war with Zang Di was no longer important, since he knew he couldn’t hurt Zang Di. But securing the Wolf King’s Ring would change everything. With the ring, they could turn the tide; possessing it, they wouldn’t have to fear facing Zang Di.

Shi Chengyuan clearly agreed, saying, “Indeed, we overlooked the fact that the kid had the Wolf King’s Ring on him. I’ve also heard the legends are not just about some cheap trinket.”

Ye Chen fully realized he had caused great trouble. Those hungry wolves were eyeing him greedily, an ominous premonition creeping up on him. What to do? Clearly, he had become the new target, and it was best not to linger here long. He quickly needed to find a way to escape.

The iron gate was smashed open, and over a hundred people locked in the cages fled. They were indeed from the Dragon Slaying Clan. Guo Yuyun took advantage of their escape to flee as well.

Outside, chaos reigned, with explosive battles erupting all around.

Meng Xiuluo knew that if he didn’t escape quickly, he might not be able to once Zang Di returned.

Guo Yuyun surmised that the monkey was likely with the Dragon Slaying Clan’s people. She, Ye Chen, and Meng Xiuluo had started this together, so they could very well be in cahoots. Having escaped, she looked around, wondering if she might find Ye Chen.

There he was. Guo Yuyun called out, “Monkey!”

Ye Chen stood atop a wall, clearly visible to her, and called back, “You need to get out of here fast, talk later!”

Zang Di wiped the blood from his injuries and approached slowly, Wu Xinyou with his sword following behind. Zang Di said, “Don’t think of leaving without handing over the Wolf King’s Ring.”

As expected, it was just as he thought. He saw the Scorpion Witch approaching as well and guessed she’d say something similar.

The fighting continued on both sides, though not as fiercely as before, and currently, no one seemed to care about the Dragon Slaying Clan’s escape.

Ye Chen knew big trouble was imminent. Without a plan, he probably wouldn’t be able to escape.

Glancing around quickly, without much searching, he thought about making an escape, and called out, “You go ahead with that girl, I’ll find you later.”

Guo Yuyun was stunned that he was telling her to leave with that girl.
