Chapter 1345 - 1345 1331 Bargain

Chapter 1345: Chapter 1331: Bargain Chapter 1345: Chapter 1331: Bargain Meng Xiuluo had returned.

The person in charge and several subordinates were summoned into a room.

The assistant asked, “Did they agree to help?”

Meng Xiuluo replied, “They basically agreed.”

“If that’s the case, we are even more certain.”

“I asked you to prepare the ships, are they ready?” Meng Xiuluo pondered that after rescuing those people, they must leave immediately. She didn’t want to stay, and even less did she want to get involved with Zang Di and the Scorpion Witch’s affairs. Although she indicated cooperation, it was just lip service. Additionally, there were the people from the Demon Domain and the thirty-six islands, searching everywhere for the Dragon Slaying Clan’s members. Who could guarantee they wouldn’t come to Slaughter Island? It would be very troublesome if they found out those people were on Slaughter Island.

“I have prepared a ship according to your instructions,” said the assistant.

“Good, be careful. The people from the thirty-six islands are still nearby, and we don’t know if they will come to Slaughter Island,” Meng Xiuluo warned.

“Understood.”

“After rescuing the people tomorrow, we must leave immediately. We cannot linger on Slaughter Island.”

“Got it.”

Suddenly, a man behind muttered, “Right, boss, what about that young guy?”

Meng Xiuluo knew what he wanted to say, “For now, we still need his help. Let’s discuss everything after the people are rescued.” Although she really wanted the Wolf King’s Ring, people are grateful by nature. After all, he had saved her. Without him, she either would have died or been captured by Zang Di’s men.

The big man suggested, “After he helps us and gets on the ship, we can capture him then.”

Meng Xiuluo said, “Follow my lead on everything.”

The men nodded one after another.

“Where is the map of Zang Di’s territory?”

The assistant presented a map quickly, laying it out before her. Meng Xiuluo commanded, “Alright, prepare yourselves. It’s possible that engaging in battle could alert people in the nearby seas, so after succeeding, we cannot stay long on the island.”

The assistant agreed, “Yes, with the people from the thirty-six islands still around and those from the Demon Domain coming, after the rescue, we indeed cannot linger on Slaughter Island.”

“Hmm, so we must ensure our escape route is ready; we cannot afford any delays,” Meng Xiuluo reiterated with emphasis.

“I’m not sure if the Demon Clan’s people can be relied upon.”

“If we cannot depend on them, we won’t seek them out.”

Another subordinate added, “That’s why we must leave immediately after rescuing the people.”

“Food must be well-prepared; we might not disembark at will,” said Meng Xiuluo.

A disciple interjected, “We should capture that young man. If that girl is still alive, we should take her as well. If anything happens, we can use them to threaten the people from the Demon Domain and the thirty-six islands.”

“When the time comes, listen to me. Make sure the ship is ready without any delays. I don’t want to rescue the people and then fail to escape Slaughter Island, only to have them all captured again,” she insisted.

“There will be no such incident,” the assistant assured.

“I hope it’s as you say.”

They dispersed soon thereafter.

Having recuperated, Ye Chen was unable to sleep immediately; he speculated whether the people from the Demon Domain and the thirty-six islands would come to Slaughter Island. They were searching for the Dragon Slaying Clan members, so if they knew a group of them were on Slaughter Island, why wouldn’t they come to Slaughter Island?

Exactly, if they came to Slaughter Island, he would just need to rescue Guo Yuyun and wait for them on the island. Ye Chen felt this plan wasn’t bad.

If a battle broke out tomorrow, word of the events on Slaughter Island would surely spread, invariably drawing the attention of those searching for the Dragon Slaying Clan from the thirty-six islands. By then, they might well send people. Therefore, after rescuing Yun’er, he could wait on the thirty-six islands for two or three days.

That was the plan. He couldn’t afford to recklessly follow that girl around. He believed that after the Dragon Slaying Clan’s members were rescued, they would definitely try to leave Slaughter Island. If he could think of the thirty-six islands’ likely return, that girl would surely anticipate it as well. Therefore, after rescuing the people, they would surely try to leave immediately, certainly not waiting here for the thirty-six islands’ people to come for them.

Where exactly was the Longhun? Did that crazy girl know?

She probably didn’t; he just ended up stranded on this island on the same ship as her.

Why think so much about it? The people hadn’t even been rescued yet. Just focus on thoroughly rescuing everyone first.

The night was quiet, and the wind blew the bamboo outside, making a whispering rustling sound.

Guo Yuyun couldn’t sleep. She was locked up with a large group of people, waiting for the big trial tomorrow, when the men would be taken for hard labor and the women cleaned up, waiting to be chosen by those hefty guys. Among those locked up with her were a large group of people from the Dragon Slaying Clan—the same ones who had captured them before. It seemed they had made a mistake, mistaking her for a member of the Dragon Slaying Clan.

But her explanations were futile; they probably would have just angered the others. So, she preferred to spend some time making herself look like a filthy, stinky beggar rather than arguing with them. As long as those guys thought she was hideously ugly, they wouldn’t be so quick to take her for childbearing.

She had been searching all day and hadn’t found Ye Chen. The injured girl was also missing. She believed they had escaped. That monkey wouldn’t really abandon her, would he?

Even if he didn’t abandon her, what else could he do? She had looked around; the place was fortified like a fortress of copper walls and iron barriers. With just one monkey, no matter how high his martial arts were, he was still just one person. The hefty guy who had fought with the monkey, the one with the sword, might be more than a match for Ye Chen.

A girl walked by—it was the maidservant who was always with the injured girl on the boat. Perhaps she was more of an assistant. It turned out she was alive too and had been captured in the dungeon.

With so many members of the Dragon Slaying Clan captured, would anyone come to rescue them?

Who knows? Maybe someone would. After all, their leader had escaped—that is, the injured girl hadn’t been captured. Since she hadn’t been captured, she must know that a large number of the Dragon Slaying Clan were captured. Wouldn’t she try to rescue her people?

Yes, as she was lost in these wild thoughts, that girl couldn’t sleep either, pacing restlessly, probably just as anxious as she was.

The monkey wouldn’t really leave her to fend for herself, would he? That monkey was cold-blooded and capable of such a thing; he had done so previously by leaving her in the Central Plains and going to the Thirty-Six Islands himself.

She had barely escaped with her life, only to be captured by these monkey-butt-like guys. Who were they?

But their stronghold seemed to be very large; they probably had many men at their disposal. At this point, who could take care of her?

What should she do, just sit and wait for death? If not waiting for death, then what?

Early in the morning, as dawn broke, Ye Chen was on the street, grabbing a bite to eat. He had gotten up early today and had taken a walk around the street. He needed to at least understand the circumstances of the surrounding area.

Lest something happen and he escaped into the city, he wouldn’t know how to find Haozi’s hideout.

After making a complete round, he had a better grasp of the situation.

When he returned to the inn, the Scorpion Witch and the others had just arrived.

Ye Chen still felt somewhat embarrassed; he could tell that the Scorpion Witch had no fondness for him. He understood it was because he had taken the woman the Scorpion Witch cherished, so of course, he wasn’t going to get a warm reception.

“Cheapskate, come over here for the meeting.” It was Meng Xiuluo calling; she was just coming out to greet the Scorpion Witch and Shi Chengyuan.

Ye Chen glanced around and it seemed that everyone already knew he was a cheapskate.

“I warn you, don’t call me a cheapskate,” Ye Chen quietly said to her.

“If not cheapskate, what else should I call you?” Meng Xiuluo led them towards the room.

Inside, a large map was laid out on the table.

Shi Chengyuan instantly recognized the map—it was the topographical map of Zang Di’s territory. It was clear they were prepared.

“Let me discuss the plan,” Meng Xiuluo said.

But the Scorpion Witch interjected, “We should clarify who will tackle Zang Di.” He had clashed with Zang Di and knew the difficulty; he didn’t want any unexpected issues to arise.

Shi Chengyuan gave a cold laugh, “Of course, the cheapskate will handle it. You’re so confident in his superior martial arts, it naturally falls to the most skilled among us.”

Ye Chen knew it; that girl had caused trouble. No wonder he had an uneasy feeling all morning, she should not have acted impulsively last night.

Meng Xiuluo said, “No problem, we’ll leave it to him.”

Ye Chen’s face paled, a sign of bad omen. Zang Di must be an extremely formidable opponent; if not, those two wouldn’t have assigned Zang Di to him right from the start, nor would they have said those words. In haste, he said, “Hey, I’ve never crossed hands with Zang Di; I really don’t know what he’s like.” He didn’t want to boast and end up unable to defeat Zang Di, it wasn’t just about losing face but whether he would still be alive to walk out from there.

Shi Chengyuan wasn’t buying it, “Zang Di isn’t that formidable. If you’re confident enough to beat both of us, surely you can defeat him.”

Ye Chen quickly tried to clarify, “Hey, it wasn’t me who said I could beat you; it was all that girl’s nonsense.” Hearing Shi Chengyuan say he could beat them both to then tackle Zang Di, Ye Chen grew frightened; he certainly didn’t have the confidence to defeat Shi Chengyuan and the Scorpion Witch together.

This guy really was losing face, backing off at the last moment. Just last night, he had gained a bit of face, but now he had completely lost it, she said, “Can’t you be a little more confident?”

She spoke without understanding the risk; Ye Chen said, “It’s my skin on the line, of course you would say that.” He was clearly getting anxious.

“Don’t worry, we will help you when the time comes.”

Ye Chen would never trust such empty words; their cooperation was not built on trust in the first place. He even suspected that Meng Xiuluo would surely play a trick within a trick when the time came, he said, “Both seniors, I need one of you to help me.”

Shi Chengyuan didn’t fall for it, as if relieved, he said, “I can’t spare anyone. I must confront Wu Xinyou. If I help you, then nobody will be left to confront her.”
