Chapter 1332 - 1332 1318 A Narrow Escape
Chapter 1332: Chapter 1318: A Narrow Escape Chapter 1332: Chapter 1318: A Narrow Escape Seeing Longhun on that boat, Su Zhanze was like an infuriated rooster, constantly hopping about. Su Zhanze’s heart was excessively delighted, guessing that Longhun had never been so embarrassed before.
Being able to kill Longhun would boost his confidence. Once the fools in the Demon Domain learned of this fact, they would certainly regard him differently. In their eyes, the only person who had truly defeated Longhun was Ye Chen, but this time, he could prove to the people of the Demon Domain that what that little brat could do, he could do as well.
He began to think that once he killed Longhun, he could then take care of that little brat, who still carried magic power on him. If the people of the Demon Domain knew that the kid was about to burst, they would surely find a way to eliminate him. By then, he just needed to apply a small plan to make them realize the gravity of the situation.
The people from all the major sects in the Demon Domain would certainly worry and band together to catch that guy, and the only one who could help them deal with that kid would be him, because no one else could match that little brat.
Alright, let him keep jumping for one hour, and then he could make his move. He was certain that it wouldn’t take more than three rounds to kill Longhun, with everything under his control.
Feeling so clever, aren’t you? Let’s see how you’ll keep jumping, Su Zhanze thought as he looked straight ahead.
They kept tightening the encirclement, and for some reason, it started to rain.
Elsewhere, lightning flashed and thunder roared as if a storm was approaching, with the thunder arriving first.
Chen Yu looked back and said, “The rain won’t affect us. We can finish all this before the storm hits.”
“Got it. Hurry up and prepare; let’s avoid any accidents.”
Meng Xiuluo saw the ship sending out distress signals and quickly confirmed it was Longhun’s vessel because he saw Longhun on the top of the ship, fighting a large number of monsters.
Meng Xiuluo was originally arranged by Longhun to leave the Island of the Wicked first, but upon reaching Lotus Leaf Island and learning that the Sacred Spirit Sect was heading to the Island of the Wicked, she felt uneasy and circled back.
Xiang Yi said, “It seems like those are people from the Immortal City Sect, they have surrounded Longhun and his group.”
Meng Xiuluo also saw that Longhun and his group were trapped within a triangular encirclement. Su Zhanze raised his lightning-struck Dragon Slayer Sword and charged in. Longhun’s ship had several holes and was immobilized, just waiting for the three ships to completely tear it apart.
Xiang Yi anxiously said, “We have to hurry over there to rescue them, or Longhun might be killed.” It was clear that Longhun was no match for Su Zhanze, and the Dragon Slayer Sword was indeed formidable.
Meng Xiuluo held back Xiang Yi, saying, “Rescuing them is a must, but the question is how. If you rush over in such a hurry, you probably won’t be able to save them, and you might even get trapped yourself.” As someone experienced who had been wandering the world for many years, she understood this principle and was unusually calm, knowing that this was exactly the time when calm was needed.
Xiang Yi stopped and said, “Then how do we rescue them? We’ll listen to you.”
Meng Xiuluo said, “It’s raining now, and they haven’t discovered us yet. We can use the rain to our advantage. I believe within one hour, the rain will intensify. Using the cover of the rain, we’ll approach and first try to destroy one of their ships.”
Xiang Yi kept nodding and asked, “Which ship shall we destroy first?”
“The fiercest one. Whether we can sink it or not, we must give it our all and at least render one ship immobile. Only by destroying one ship such that it cannot move can the Island Master and the rest possibly break out of the encirclement. Once that ship cannot follow, they’ll only have two ships left. When we arrive with our two ships, we can help the Island Master escape from them.”
“Right, besides trying to rescue the Island Master, we need to find a way to help them get rid of the Immortal City Sect’s people.”
“Yes, they still don’t know we’re behind them. We can use this to our advantage and catch them by surprise. We can definitely rescue the Island Master and his group.” Meng Xiuluo had watched for a while and was sure that Longhun and his group could hold on for another hour, which is why she made this plan.
Xiang Yi said, “Then we should get ready.”
“Good. Make sure to prepare well.” Meng Xiuluo stood at the bow, looking back at the approaching lightning.
The continuous sounds of the Dragon Roar and cannon fire were transmitted; they were probably only about a hundred yards away.
The loud explosions and Dragon Roar sounds were clearly nearby, along with shouting.
But this ship showed no signs of movement.
The sound of cannon fire came wave after wave, and it seemed as though the ship had stopped, with the sound of the waves slapping against the hull growing fainter.
“Our ship seems to have stopped.” Guo Yuyun stood up, looking to peek through a crack to see what exactly was happening outside.
The ship drew closer but didn’t join the fight, which was very odd. It made one very curious as to who was fighting outside.
“Who exactly is out there fighting and where are we now?” Ye Chen asked the two guards of the dungeon.
The two guards didn’t respond to him, saying, “Mind your own business.”
Then, the sound of chaotic footsteps was heard coming closer. Clearly, the crew was gathering, preparing to join the fight.
The thunderous roar of thunder was also drawing nearer.
Guo Yuyun asked, “Are they going to join in?”
“If they’re not joining in, why come close? And their people are gathering.” Ye Chen analyzed.
“I feel like we’re very close.”
“It’s not a feeling; we are very close indeed.”
“So we’re not in danger, right?”
“What’s the use of worrying now? I told you to leave earlier, but you insisted on staying. Regretting it now, aren’t you?”
“The fighting is still fierce.” Although Ye Chen had not witnessed the battle with his own eyes, the sounds of gunfire, the Dragon Roar, and the clashing of combat allowed him to deduce the intensity of the battle.
“It sounds like there’s thunder too.”
“Right, looks like it’s going to rain,” Ye Chen said.
“They’re planning to make their move in the rain.” The sound of rain hitting the deck could be heard, but it didn’t seem very heavy yet.
“Be careful, don’t wander your gaze around. If a Fireball comes your way, you’ll definitely be blasted away.”
There was definitely movement; the sound of footsteps on wooden planks became louder and clearer. It was evident they were about to act; they were making their last preparations.
Both were very curious as to who had started fighting and why. Could it be about the Sacred Spirit Stone?
The sounds of explosions and slaughter drew nearer, and the ship obviously began to move again, speeding up abruptly.
Su Zhanze leaped, and the Dark Beast emerged, faintly visible. The Dragon Slayer Sword, carrying countless flashes of lightning, crashed down, and with a loud bang, it exploded towards the Longhun. Longhun summoned all its energy, including that of the Sacred Spirit Stone, which now appeared quite unstable— a precursor to losing control.
With a loud boom, an energy wave exploded forth, flinging Longhun away and breaking the ship’s mast behind him.
Some disciples were blasted into the sea.
The ship was pitted and potholed, caught in crossfire from all sides—enemies were everywhere, and they were basically surrounded.
Su Zhanze chuckled mischievously and said, “You think you’re so clever, don’t you? Let’s see how smart you can be now.”
Longhun was furious. That guy was just lucky; he hadn’t anticipated more enemies ahead. Who would have thought he had so many people, and not all of them were used at the Island of the Wicked?
But Longhun wasn’t one to wallow in self-pity. Even if he were to die, he’d go down with a fight. Rubbing his aching arm, which had been hurt by the broken mast, he said, “Come on, come at me if you’re not afraid to die.” He knew that if the Sacred Spirit Stone lost control and exploded, he would not surrender without a fight.
Chen Yu approached Su Zhanze and whispered, “Be careful of him; he might no longer be able to control the Sacred Spirit Stone.”
Su Zhanze understood his meaning.
“We can’t fall for this guy’s tricks,” Chen Yu added.
“Don’t worry, he can’t outsmart me,” Su Zhanze firmly believed, unfazed by the possibility of the Sacred Spirit Stone losing control.
Mo Ku, seeing that Longhun was no match for Su Zhanze and obviously very concerned, found himself in a desperate situation, flustered from being attacked from all sides. He asked Longhun what to do. Longhun, with a cold laugh, replied, “We might as well die together with them if it comes to that.”
Mo Ku knew that if Longhun said he could do it, he meant it.
“Come on, hopping hen,” Su Zhanze advanced towards Longhun again, the sword emitting dazzling bolts of lightning.
“You shameless bastard, you deserve whatever’s coming to you.”
“Damn it, it wouldn’t be like this if it wasn’t for you,” Longhun shot back, inflamed with sudden rage—clearly, his emotional turmoil was the cause of his anger, as he added, “A woman you can’t even keep happy, and you think you’re so great.”
Longhun had captured Guo Yuyun, which led to the death of Guo Mingyu and a horde of disciples from Demon Palace City, and finally to Yu Qing breaking up with him, “Today is your day to die, and it will have been worth it,” Longhun said gloatingly.
The sword aimed to pierce through Longhun’s chest.
The rain fell in a pitter-patter.
And at that moment, boom, boom, boom…
Several loud explosions erupted from behind.
Su Zhanze’s original ship had a huge hole blasted in it, and another ship rammed into it from behind.
Winged Dragons and monsters swooped in, and despite the rain, the gunfire continued. Even though water could extinguish fire, the gunpowder was still strong enough to tear large holes in the ship.
The ship rocked violently for a moment.
Longhun was jolted as well, and the energy from the sword didn’t hit Longhun but exploded just beside him, allowing Longhun to unexpectedly dodge a deadly blow.
