Chapter 1311 - 1311 1297 Two Drunkards

Chapter 1311: Chapter 1297: Two Drunkards Chapter 1311: Chapter 1297: Two Drunkards “You’ve been running into romantic luck everywhere?” Guo Yuyun asked.

Black Demonic Spirit answered, “I don’t have that much romantic luck.”

“I should have stopped Ah Ya from being with you.” After ordering grilled fish and other dishes, Guo Yuyun felt relieved having opened her heart to Song Xizhi, and her appetite returned.

“How could you do such a thing?”

“You’re so bad, when Ah Ya is around, you bow and scrape, but as soon as she turns around, you change into a different person. Can she really be happy with you?”

“It’s not as serious as you say. I’m not that bad, just wandering around a bit.”

“You just haven’t encountered the opportunity, that’s all.”

“Let’s talk about you instead. Is Ye Chen really that good?” Black Demonic Spirit curiously asked.

“It’s not about being good or not. As long as one feels happy in their heart, then they should stick to their own ideas.”

Black Demonic Spirit shook his head and said, “But he’s very likely to become obsessed with evil practices, and by then, you really might be left with no one.”

Guo Yuyun didn’t think about these things and said, “Why bother pondering over these things?”

“If you don’t ponder over these, then what else should you ponder over?”

Guo Yuyun said, “Now, I think that if doing something makes me happy, I’ll just do it.”

“Usually, I think this way too. It seems we have a bit in common, but I’m still not as reckless as you.”

Guo Yuyun shook her head and said, “I am not of the same mind as you.”

“You speak as if I’m a bad guy.” Black Demonic Spirit raised his glass and said, “Well, no matter what happens tomorrow, I wish you success in advance.”

Guo Yuyun clinked glasses with him.

Ye Chen had returned early, taken a bath, changed out of the clothes he had been wearing for several days, and felt much refreshed. The inn had also quieted down.

Most people had gone back to their rooms one after another.

Suddenly, he saw two people, staggering back inebriated.

It was Black Demonic Spirit and Guo Yuyun. Ye Chen was surprised to see these two together. Guo Yuyun was already very drunk, while Black Demonic Spirit was relatively sober. On the first floor, he saw Ye Chen and called out, “Hurry up and come help.” It was clear he could no longer hold on.

Ye Chen came downstairs and saw Yun’er trying to climb onto the table to sing and dance. He asked, “What happened?”

“Drank alcohol, what else could it be?” Guo Yuyun probably didn’t know who was in front of her by then.

“Did you have a fight with Song Xizhi?”

“Shouldn’t be,” said Black Demonic Spirit.

“Then why so much alcohol?”

Black Demonic Spirit scoffed and said, “You’re really playing dumb here. Who else but you could rile her up?”

“Nonsense. I’ve been very careful with my words lately; how could I have upset her?” Ye Chen was cautious because of the drinking incident last time.

Ye Chen picked her up.

Black Demonic Spirit had managed with difficulty to drag her back to the inn, sweating profusely. Handing Yun’er over to Ye Chen, he shook his head and said, “Alright, she’s in your hands now, I need to take a wash.”

Ye Chen carried her up to the room on the second floor.

Ouyang Yue must have heard noise from the neighboring room and came out. She just saw Ye Chen carrying Yun’er into the room, the latter completely unconscious from her drunken state. Ouyang Yue said, “What happened, how did you get Yun’er drunk, what are you trying to do?”

Ye Chen laid Guo Yuyun on the bed and said, “Does it look like I got her drunk?”

“If not you, who got her drunk?” Ouyang Yue asked.

“Come on, help out and stop fussing around, okay?” Ye Chen found it odd that he hadn’t seen Song Xizhi. Song Xizhi had been with her earlier, but she was nowhere to be seen all evening. Could she really have had a falling out with Song Xizhi? But what exactly happened? Was it as Black Demonic Spirit said, did he upset Yun’er? He had no clue whatsoever.

Ouyang Yue pushed Ye Chen away, seemingly worried he would take advantage of the situation and called out, “Back off, I’ll handle it.”

Ye Chen stepped aside.

Then shouts came from downstairs. In the quiet of the night, the sound didn’t need to be loud for it to be heard all around, and it was all too familiar. Ye Chen rushed out, and indeed, it was Song Xizhi, who was also drunk, having lost all trace of his gentlemanly demeanor. Something must have happened.

Song Xizhi, looking as if he was drunkenly practicing boxing, entered with a jar of alcohol in his arms, arguing with two young men on the ground floor. Clearly, the young men were inquiring, but he was unable to give any coherent answer.

The attendants wanted to kick him out, apparently not wanting a drunkard causing trouble here.

Full of confusion, Ye Chen ran downstairs, certain something had happened that evening. Song Xizhi had no reason to be so thoroughly drunk, and from the looks of it, it seemed he hadn’t come back with Guo Yuyun.

By the time Ouyang Yue came out, Ye Chen was already on the first floor, rescuing Song Xizhi from the arguing young men.

Song Xizhi, very drunk with a flushed face and reeking of alcohol, still clung stubbornly to the jar. Upon seeing Ye Chen, he said, “Listen kid, you must treat Yun’er well in the future, or I won’t let you off.”

Ye Chen was utterly confused, unsure of what he meant, but he was certain that something significant had occurred that night for things to be this way.

“You must promise me not to bully Yun’er.”

Ye Chen didn’t understand what the man was trying to express as he could collapse to the ground at any moment.

“Did you hear me clearly?”

Ye Chen casually said, “I’ve heard everything.” Right now, he just wanted to hurry and prop him back to the room, and called out for Ouyang Yue again, “Girl, why aren’t you coming over to help quickly?”

The weight of Song Xizhi was not in the same league as Guo Yuyun’s.

Ouyang Yue ran down quickly, her face full of bewilderment. With Guo Yuyun and Song Xizhi arriving back one after the other, both drunk as lords, how could something not have happened? Hearing Song Xizhi’s drunken babble made her even more certain that something major must have occurred.

“What on earth did you do tonight?”

As Ye Chen propped up Song Xizhi towards the second floor, he said, “After our argument, I just came back to take a bath.”

“How is that possible? It’s obvious they got like this because of you.”

“I don’t know, could you stop talking nonsense and put in some effort to help me carry him back to the room first?”

Together, the two of them finally managed to bring Song Xizhi back to the room.

“Did they have an argument?” Ouyang Yue said, full of doubt. Song Xizhi was not the type to drink much, so him getting this drunk tonight clearly indicated something had happened.

“Don’t know,” Ye Chen said as he helped Song Xizhi get covered with the blanket.

“Both of them came back drunk, and he was saying those things to you.”

Just when he had finally taken a bath, he ended up carrying two people back and was now covered in sweat again.

What the hell was going on? Ye Chen was more curious than Ouyang Yue and even more eager to understand what exactly had happened.

“He seemed to tell you to take care of Guo Yuyun and even wanted your assurance. Is he planning to back out?”

Ye Chen didn’t respond.

“Does he not know about my relationship with you, or have they discovered the truth?”

“Hey, don’t start fantasizing in here,” Ye Chen said as he exited the room and closed the door to Song Xizhi’s room.

“Song Xizhi doesn’t usually drink. He must have been deeply hurt; otherwise, he wouldn’t have ended up like this.”

“You’re not blaming me, are you? I am just as clueless as you are,” Ye Chen said, exasperated.

“I think you are quite pleased.”

“What nonsense are you spouting, you crazy girl?”

“If he’s out of the picture, it means your chance has come. You should be happy.”

“What nonsense are you talking about, you crazy girl?” Ye Chen’s mind was filled with Song Xizhi’s words from earlier. Something definitely had happened between them; they may have had a fight. But why would Song Xizhi argue with Yun’er? Song Xizhi wasn’t like that. It must be related to him then. He knew nothing good would come from letting them stay.

“I think they probably broke up.”

Ye Chen didn’t say anything, but he agreed with Ouyang Yue’s words.

Ouyang Yue believed that perhaps Ye Chen was just as ignorant as she was about the situation and called out, “Don’t just stand there; come have some late-night snacks with me.”

“You’re in the mood for late-night snacks?” Ye Chen was in a bit of a mess.

“We need to fill our stomachs no matter what happens tomorrow,” she said as she dragged Ye Chen downstairs.

Ye Chen was completely out of spirits and shook his head, saying, “I shouldn’t have let those two continue to stay.”

“Are you blaming me?” Ouyang Yue felt he meant that.

“Staying was bound to lead to trouble eventually. You just wouldn’t listen to me,” Ye Chen was sure that a major event was about to unfold.

“You didn’t mention that many times.”

“I haven’t mentioned it yet. You must be deaf,” Ye Chen said, somewhat angrily.

“Let’s think about what to do now.”

“They must have discovered it.”

“Are you saying they found out there’s nothing between you and me?”

“Of course, she’s so smart. Keeping her here, it was only a matter of time before she’d discover it,” Ye Chen said.

“You didn’t say that before.”

“Again with the ‘you didn’t say.’ You girl, always shirking responsibility,” Ye Chen retorted.

“Aren’t you shirking responsibility? You haven’t been so assertive these past days,” Ouyang Yue argued.

Ye Chen was lost in thought.

“I think you should accept the reality.”

Ye Chen looked at Ouyang Yue and asked, “Accept reality? What reality?”

“It’s about laying it all out on the table and not running away from it anymore. Whatever happens next, just let it happen,” Ouyang Yue continued, “You’ve been in a foul mood lately too. Why torment yourself? Just go with the flow.”

“What do you mean ‘go with the flow’?”

“It means open up. Clarify the situation and take whatever comes after that,” she explained.

“You must be out of your mind to have such an idea,” Ye Chen said.
