Chapter 1185 - 1185 1171 Drinking Flower Wine

Chapter 1185: Chapter 1171: Drinking Flower Wine Chapter 1185: Chapter 1171: Drinking Flower Wine Worrying that she was on the brink of life and death seemed to be an overreaction, he simply didn’t have the energy to worry about other things. He had to thoroughly research the Sacred Spirit Stone; maybe it would come in handy for destroying the Wolf King’s Ring in the future. Yes, last time, aside from failing to sever his entanglement with Magic Power, there was another important reason; Nangong Yao and Shao Hengjiang hadn’t cooperated, and their understanding of the Sacred Spirit Stone was not profound enough.

Now that he had time, he should spend it on this, not on pondering why that girl had gotten close to someone else so quickly.

Tonight, he truly needed to relax, to clear his recent oppression and emptiness. Being cooped up in his room all day wasn’t effective; such pressure wouldn’t squeeze anything productive out of him.

Having been scolded back and forth by Li Mo actually felt quite satisfying; sometimes, a person needs to be scolded to wake up properly. Li Mo’s words probably had that effect, it must be true.

The twilight glow grew increasingly dazzling, seemingly struggling in its final moments before the arrival of night.

It had just gotten dark.

Nangong Yan, escorting Ouyang Yue, with the Black Demonic Spirit and Red Demonic Spirit in tow, arrived at Ye Chen’s Peach Blossom Courtyard. She was going to be the guide, introducing everyone to the lively night scenery of Immortal Medicine Island.

The Red Demonic Spirit had changed its name to Ye Hong, and the Black Demonic Spirit to Ye He; both taking the surname of Ye Chen.

However, the Black Demonic Spirit was rather displeased with the name Ye He. It didn’t mind its gender, but ‘He’ which meant closed, seemed like a command to keep its mouth shut, so of course, it didn’t like it.

Ouyang Yue said it talked too much and needed to be silent. She considered it a blessing that she didn’t name it Ye Black. Annoyed, it couldn’t sleep for two nights; it kept thinking of a nicer name. But given its level of creativity, that’s as good as it got. After racking its brain for two days without coming up with anything better, it had no choice but to wait for a better idea to change its name again.

The Red Demonic Spirit said, “This monkey, it’s not growing bugs, is it?”

The Black Demonic Spirit snorted coldly and said, “The monkey knows how to enjoy life. It wouldn’t be as foolish as you, breeding insects in the Peach Blossom Courtyard. It’s probably already out having fun.”

After listening, Nangong Yan said, “That’s impossible. He’s been studying the Sacred Spirit Stone in the courtyard.”

“How would you know.”

“I have someone keeping an eye on him. If he were to come out, I’d know about it.”

A bit surprised, the Black Demonic Spirit said, “Oh, if you actually get married to him, that’d be it. You’re already keeping tabs on him; will he ever have any freedom?”

Nangong Yan glared at him and retorted, “He’s already married me!”

“Heh, that doesn’t count,” the Black Demonic Spirit knew she was referring to the event on the ship called ‘Saunter’.

“Who says it doesn’t count? The whole ship witnessed it, and it still doesn’t count?” Nangong Yan declared confidently.

“Arguing with me here won’t get you anywhere; only if the monkey thinks it counts, will it actually count,” the Black Demonic Spirit continued, “But if I were him, I’d never consider it valid even if beaten to death.”

This left Nangong Yan so angry she didn’t know what to say and she snapped, “Do you want to be completely normal or not?”

After several days of adhering to his medicinal regimen, the Black Demonic Spirit’s voice had somewhat normalized, but it would take a few more days to fully recover. Hastily, it said, “I was just speaking off the cuff. He’s not me; he’s easier to sway and should take it seriously.”

Better not provoke her now. If her father concocted some bizarre stuff, and it drove him insane, who knows – he might end up hermaphroditic, and that’d be a disaster.

Turning a corner, they saw the entrance to the Peach Blossom Courtyard. The gate was open, but the guards seemed to have fallen asleep on the ground.

Nangong Yan woke them with a couple of slaps, and they mistook it for morning.

“How did you two fall asleep?” Nangong Yan asked.

“We don’t know, we have no idea when we fell asleep.”

“Where’s Ye Chen?”

“He should be inside,” a subordinate said.

Nangong Yan rushed in, calling out for what seemed like an eternity with no response; Li Mo was nowhere to be seen, stunning her.

The Black Demonic Spirit said, “Thinking those two could actually keep an eye on Ye Chen is something only you could come up with. Forget about watching Ye Chen, they couldn’t even keep watch on me.”

Nangong Yan’s frustration surged; she wanted to berate the useless guards for failing to watch a single man. But thinking it over, what the Black Demonic Spirit said was true; if Ye Chen wanted to leave, who could stop him?

“I told you, how could the monkey stay put and grow bugs here? I bet he has long since slipped out to enjoy drinks and pleasure; this probably isn’t his first time either.”

Nangong Yan was on the verge of bursting into flames.

“Why would he allow himself to be empty, lonely, and cold? Even I understand that logic,” she argued.

Ouyang Yue said, “Let’s go, don’t get angry. He must have been cooped up for too long and wanted some fresh air.”

Nangong Yan responded, “If he wanted fresh air, he should’ve told me. How could I possibly not let him out?”

The Black Demonic Spirit, seemingly wise, chuckled, “You taking him out for air, and him going out on his own, can those be the same? With you guys on his tail, he can’t even flirt freely. If I were him, I’d sneak out too.”

Nangong Yan became even more convinced by the Black Demonic Spirit’s logic.

Ouyang Yue suggested, “He probably took Li Mo with him.” She hadn’t seen Li Mo either and knew he was often Ye Chen’s companion.

Nangong Yan hurriedly made her way outside.

The Black Demonic Spirit called out, “Hey, miss, where are you going? Surely you don’t actually plan to go to the place where men enjoy their drinks? I know women aren’t supposed to enter, but I’d be more than happy to help you catch him; it’d be a surefire success.”

Ouyang Yue pushed him hard and snapped, “Someone’s upset, and you’re actually enjoying this, aren’t you?”

“Where does it say I’m particularly happy!” Black Demonic Spirit also flashed out, singing a song, still cheesy. He was too shy to sing the last two days, but his voice had improved.

“You really are a naughty guy, getting carried away with your joy.”

“I’m not getting carried away. Nangong Yao told me this. He said I should practice opera more, as it’s better for the recovery of my throat,” Black Demonic Spirit defended.

Ouyang Yue shouted, “Even if your voice is better, you still sound so effeminate.” She was venting on behalf of Nangong Yan.

Red Demonic Spirit followed behind, yelling, “You really do ask for a beating.”

“It’s not me who deserves a beating, so how can you blame me?” said Black Demonic Spirit.

It was rather lively on the streets.

Ye Chen changed into an outfit that wasn’t all that remarkable. He felt Li Mo did it on purpose, not wanting him to look too handsome, fearing it might diminish the other’s worth completely.

“You’re actually happy giving me an unimpressive outfit,” Ye Chen found something trivial to say.

“Oh, my taste is just like this. If you’re picky, go choose for yourself,” Li Mo called out. “Don’t take your frustrations out on me.”

“Of course, I’m going to change into a different one,” he said, turning into a clothes shop.

Soon, he came out with a white garment.

Li Mo said coldly, “I think it’s even worse than the one I picked out. You look like a pretty boy.”

“I didn’t expect that your mouth really got bigger, daring to say I look like a pretty boy. The one you made me wear looked like a flower girl’s dress,” Ye Chen argued, not convinced.

“Hey, as long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters. Just don’t channel your bad mood onto me. I won’t stand for being wronged without a word.”

“You are my subordinate. Can’t I vent my frustrations on you?”

“No, I may be born a servant, but there’s still logic to things,” retorted Li Mo.

Ye Chen laughed and said, “Do masters ever reason with their servants?”

The streets weren’t crowded, which was a pity as he was accompanied by a man. There were far too many couples. It almost seemed intentional, passing by in front of him constantly. Whatever was on his mind seemed to manifest. He couldn’t think of a better explanation.

Up ahead appeared a place called “Jinye Pavilion.”

Flamboyantly dressed women competed in revealing more skin, as if eager to undress completely, using their sultry voices to lure people inside.

But Ye Chen didn’t stop.

“Didn’t you say you wanted to go drinking? Why don’t you go in then?”

“Do you really feel happy only if you provoke me to go in?”

“Isn’t that what you said?”

Ye Chen snorted and kept walking. He wasn’t in the mood to look for someone to drink his troubles away with. It would only make him more annoyed.

“I should head back; that girl will definitely scold me.”

“Are you that worried about her scolding you? Let her know your bad side, see how filthy you are. If she despises you and stays away from you, wouldn’t that be a good thing?”

Ye Chen glanced at Li Mo and, after thinking about it, had to admit it made some sense.

Suddenly, he turned around, heading inside.

“Are you really going in there?”

“Isn’t that what you suggested, to make her dislike me?” Ye Chen continued, “I want to enjoy my freedom as well.”

“Then keep messing around,” Li Mo said, standing by the entrance.

“Aren’t you coming in? If you don’t, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life.”

Li Mo watched Ye Chen.

The girls inside called out with even more seductive enthusiasm.

“If you’re not coming, I’m going in by myself.”

He really went inside, straight into the arms of a girl, pulled along. He couldn’t let him go in alone; he might lose his virtue. He must go in to keep an eye on him.

Nangong Yan had been wandering the streets for over two hours. She was looking everywhere, not for handsome guys, of course, but for someone. Having walked several streets, she was starting to feel discouraged.

How could it be so easy to run into him? It was like looking for a needle in the sea—a similar logic.

“You know, looking this way, you won’t find anything. You should check all the places where people drink and go into each one. Then you’ll definitely find him. Just walking on the street, you won’t accomplish anything,” Black Demonic Spirit obviously remarked.

“It’s always you who think about going to those places. Ye Chen wouldn’t do such a thing,” she hadn’t finished her sentence when she noticed Ouyang Yue had stopped, her eyes fixed on something ahead. It seemed like some handsome guy had captured her soul. It was precisely in the direction of Jinye Pavilion.
