Chapter 1002 - 1002 988 Qiandu Xiang
Chapter 1002: Chapter 988: Qiandu Xiang Chapter 1002: Chapter 988: Qiandu Xiang “Stop dreaming, you will never get the Sacred Spirit Stone,” Ouyang Yue shouted.
“Actually, I really do regret not being able to kill Junior Sister. After all, we are fellow disciples; how could I be so ruthless? We’re all creatures of emotion,” Qiandu Xiang said while looking at Ouyang Yue inside the cage. He added, “I genuinely do regret it. That old man is too ignorant. I’ve been so devoted, yet without a second word, he wants to pass the Sect Leader position to someone who has done nothing. This is intolerable.”
“Everything you’ve done is for yourself, for your own selfish desires,” Ouyang Yue said, almost beside herself with anger, wishing she could devour him.
“You’re wrong. The old fossil knows about the Sacred Spirit Stone but didn’t use it, whereas I can utilize the Sacred Spirit Stone to bring glory and make our Sacred Spirit Sect renowned across all lands. In the future, there will be no Immortal or Demon Domain, only our Sacred Spirit Sect. This is something the old man could never achieve.” The Sacred Spirit Stone possesses Pangu’s Power; as long as one can control it, it’s possible to command all sorts of monsters. At that moment, Qiandu Xiang, though having taken over Sacred Spirit Sect and acquired Sacred Spirit Island, occupied just a corner of the South Sea. To return to the Central Plains, he must secure the Sacred Spirit Stone.
Just as expected, when my father was alive, he said this man was untrustworthy, and it’s precisely because he worried the Sacred Spirit Stone would fall into his hands that he preferred Si Nanyu to become Sect Leader,” she exclaimed, “Keep dreaming your grand delusions.”
“Hehe, don’t be hasty. Whether it’s a dream or not, you’ll see. Rest assured, although I told everyone that I would kill you on the twenty-first, I really can’t do it. After all, you’re my Junior Sister; how could your Senior Brother bear it?” Qiandu Xiang continued, “Junior Sister, everything about you is good, but you have one flaw; you’re too stubborn and can’t face reality. How could you fancy a hopeless good-for-nothing?” He was convinced that Si Nanyu would appear that day.
“How could you bring yourself to kill our Master who treated you with such kindness?” Ouyang Yue wanted to shame him.
“Kindness? Really? Who is it that helped our Sacred Spirit Sect reach today’s grandeur? He failed to see that and wanted to betroth you to some bumpkin and pass the Sect Leader position to him. What does he have to deserve that?”
“He deserves it because he has a sense of justice, because he is more honest than you; discussing these rubbish matters with a piece of trash like you is pointless.” She suddenly realized she was just wasting her breath; what she wanted was revenge, not to waste words with this guy.
“How much is justice worth? And honesty, can it trade for everything we have today?” Qiandu Xiang spread his arms wide.
“No matter how much you have, you can never possess me,” Ouyang Yue said coldly from within the cage. She knew this guy liked her, and she said these words to provoke him.
“Don’t worry, I’ll show you my achievements, and one day you’ll understand,” he replied.
Suddenly, someone rushed over from behind, apparently with some issue that needed his consultation.
“Think about it carefully, my Junior Sister. If you follow me, you can have everything. Stop following that brainless bumpkin; there’s no good end to that,” Qiandu Xiang said as he turned to leave.
A “Pah!” was heard in response.
“Nangong Yao is already on his way,” the messenger reported from behind.
Nangong Yao was the Island Master of Immortal Medicine Island and had the closest relationship with the former Sect Leader of Sacred Spirit Island, Ke Yizhu. His visit this time was likely to clarify the true circumstances; if it went wrong, he might even help the fleeing Si Nanyu. Qiandu Xiang did not wish for Si Nanyu to get assistance nor did he want to provoke the people of Immortal Medicine Island.
For him, the priority was to extract the Key Box from Si Nanyu’s body; nothing else mattered at the moment.
So many people coming to Sacred Spirit Island was not a good sign.
“Their arrival, won’t it complicate matters?” the man from behind inquired further.
“Tell Iron Chains to show them some of their might; I agree to his terms,” Qiandu Xiang instructed.
Iron Chains was a pirate among the thirty-six islands’ masters in the South Sea, and in recent years, their territory had been increasingly encroached upon by Sacred Spirit Sect, so much so that they were tightly watched by the sect without a chance to breathe.
“Understood, they will certainly give it their all,” the messenger confirmed.
“Even Hai Jingtian wouldn’t dare to act recklessly,” Qiandu Xiang didn’t want things to become so complicated, but the time had already been set. He hadn’t anticipated this development, but as long as he could retrieve the Key Box, all would be negotiable.
“Exactly, without our consent, they would only dare to shrink back and not come out,” the other added.
“Send some good food to my Junior Sister,” although Ouyang Yue utterly despised him and would never be with him or cooperate with him, they were still disciples from the same sect who practiced martial arts together. They had become hostile due to that annoying old man’s fault, and if it wasn’t for the sake of driving out Si Nanyu, he wouldn’t have staged this act; there was still some sentiment left.
“Understood, I’ll make sure to take good care of her,” was the response.
“Follow me closely, and you’ll benefit,” he urged.
Hai Jingtian quickly bowed his head in agreement, “Mmm, I will spare no effort in serving the Sect Leader.”
There was no need for Nangong Yan to hide her intentions, “Now that you know, can you get us some clothes?”
Ye Chen turned back and said, “I think these clothes look very good, and they’re quite sexy on you both.”
“Stop spouting nonsense,” Nangong Yan shouted.
With a wave, Ye Chen sent Li Mo to fetch some clothes, leaving only the three of them in the room.
“How did you figure out that we were girls?” Nangong Yan asked curiously.
Ye Chen replied, “Because you have a fragrance on you, especially your scent, is most unique. For two porters to carry such an aroma is highly unbelievable; hence you can’t be porters. Moreover, boys don’t carry such scents, unless you’re demon-monsters.”
“You’re the demon-monster,” Nangong Yan snorted in rebuttal.
“You must be runaways from home.”
“And how would you know we’re runaways?”
Ye Chen said, “Last night, the group of people chasing you were your father’s disciples, weren’t they?”
So, he had discovered their identities early on. They had still been too careless. Nangong Yan continued eating and asked, “You’re no ordinary person.”
“What makes you say that?”
“You’re not foolish, and you managed to get a lot of information out of me, including about those two glasses of wine last night.”
Ye Chen smiled and said, “We’re not bad people.”
“Whether you’re bad people or not, it’s none of my business. I couldn’t care less.” They couldn’t stay here any longer and needed to leave quickly. Even if those two guys hadn’t let their guard down last night, it didn’t prove they were good people. Maybe they had other motives. They had recognized them early on and knew their identities, yet hadn’t exposed them for several hours, which was suspicious.
“Let’s be friends,” Ye Chen said, raising his wine cup again.
Nangong Yan asked, “Which sect do you belong to?”
“I’m without a sect,” replied Ye Chen, unable to reveal the truth that could bring unnecessary trouble.
“I don’t believe you.”
Soon, Li Mo returned with the clothes, saying, “I don’t know if they’ll fit, but I had to make a great effort to get them.”
Qi Xue quickly snatched them away; she had had enough of the stench of sweat on her current clothes.
“Eat up, we’ll repay you the silver,” Nangong Yan stood up to say.
“Hey, we said there’s no need to be polite.”
“Could you step outside for a moment? We need to change clothes.”
Ye Chen stood up and walked outside with Li Mo. It seemed the two girls had become wary. Getting more information out of them wouldn’t be easy, but he had resolved many of his doubts the previous night.
Gazing at the waves below, the sea roared, slapping against the sides of the ship, the mist on the surface not yet completely dispersed.
Not long after, the door was opened again, and as expected, they looked different. Though the clothes were simple grey and white robes of no fine quality, he had believed that the girl in front would be beautiful. However, imagination was one thing; seeing her now was quite different from what he had pictured.
Upon seeing Ye Chen, Nangong Yan appeared a bit infatuated, saying, “What are you staring at? Haven’t you seen a beauty before?”
Her temper really was quite fiery.
They were going to leave.
Ye Chen asked, “Aren’t you worried about being caught? I don’t mind; we can continue to drink and chat tonight.”
Nangong Yan completely ignored him and left with Qi Xue, leaving Ye Chen and Li Mo behind.
“What a pity to let them go like that, you will regret it,” the Black Demonic Spirit complained.
Ye Chen then turned to go back into the room.
“Does that girl mean our ship might come under attack?” Li Mo asked.
“Possibly,” Ye Chen replied, already back in the room.
“That little girl is quite feisty,” Li Mo thought for a moment before adding, “If that’s the case, we might stand a chance.” On his way here, Li Mo had been worried about whether the Sacred Spirit Sect’s Sect Leader would agree to help. After all, no one had seen the Sacred Spirit Stone for over a hundred years. How could they simply hand it over to Ye Chen? But now, he didn’t have to worry about that anymore. The opportunity was open to everyone.
“You should send a message to the New City Sect via carrier pigeon right away, urging them to come here quickly,” the Black Demonic Spirit murmured, always craving chaos. The more people, the better, at a time like this.
Ye Chen looked over.
“Am I wrong? Although your abilities are indeed impressive,” The Black Demonic Spirit admitted, having contended with Ye Chen while in Gao Ba’s hands. He continued, “But, after all, you’re just one person. To be completely safe, it would be best to call your people over. That way, the chances are even greater.”
“It’s a shame about that girl,” the Red Demonic Spirit was still daydreaming, drooling over her. She hadn’t expected the girl to be so captivating once dressed in women’s clothes.
“Stop daydreaming, we still need to learn more about the people on this ship,” called Ye Chen.
