"Tianchen, it sounds like a child’s voice crying for help!" Ling Yuxun remarked, startled.

Ye Tianchen frowned, saying doubtfully, "There shouldn’t be anyone in this area, so why would a child be crying for help? Be careful, it could be a trap."

"This..." Ling Yuxun appeared somewhat scared.

"Help, can anyone hear me, please save me..."

At that moment, another child’s voice arose, sounding very miserable and loudly crying for help. The source of the voice was very clear this time, apparently not far ahead. "Big brother, big sister, don’t abandon me. I’m an orphan with nowhere to go. If you leave me here, I’m sure to die; there are other fierce beasts around!" Red Jack cried with a woeful expression.

Ling Yuxun looked at the boy, then stood up and quietly pulled Ye Tianchen aside saying, "Tianchen, we can’t just leave this child behind. He’s so young and an orphan. If he stays here, he will surely die. Since we’ve come across him, we should help him. I want to take him to a safe place."

"I was thinking the same thing. Let’s take him with us!" Ye Tianchen said after a moment, smiling.

On the way, because the boy had injuries, Ye Tianchen carried him on his back while Ling Yuxun followed behind. They continued on without encountering anyone else, which started to worry Ye Tianchen.
