"What’s the matter?" Li San didn’t even glance at the guard as he asked.

The guard did not show any signs of embarrassment. Having been assigned to the Liu family as a guard, he had grown accustomed to it. Although he was an elite member of the Falcon Unit and inherently a bit prideful, Li San had long since ground that out of him since his arrival at the Liu family. Since learning that Li San was the manager of the Liu family, nearly every guard, possibly with the exception of Yong Chun Tai, had been disciplined by Li San, and his formidable presence indeed made them respect and obey him wholeheartedly.

"Manager Li, someone wants to see Miss Liu," said the guard with a touch of respect.

"See Miss Liu? So late at night, who is it?" Li San asked, taken aback.

"Ye Tianchen!" the guard replied truthfully.

"Ye Tianchen?" Li San frowned.

"Yes, he said he has matters to discuss with Miss Liu," the guard hesitated, noting the displeasure on Manager Li’s face.

Frowning, Li San soon let a cold smirk appear on his lips and said, "Go ahead, let him in, and take him to the side courtyard!"

"But, Manager Li, the side courtyard isn’t where Miss Liu and her family live. It’s deserted..."

Just as the guard began to express his confusion and hadn’t finished speaking, Li San glared at him, frightening the guard into silence. At that moment, he heard Li San say with a sinister tone, "I told you to take him there, so just take him. Why are you giving me so much lip?"

"Okay, okay!"

Though the guard did not understand why Manager Li wanted this, he still had no choice but to comply. Although he admired Ye Tianchen somewhat, he was ultimately an employee of the Liu family. He was well aware of the dire consequences of offending Li San, so he could only do as Li San commanded.

Li San, the manager of the Liu family, was only in his forties but had been the manager for almost twenty years. Ye Tianchen did not understand Li San’s background, and few within the Liu family did either, though some rumors floated around.

It was said that more than a decade ago, one evening, the Old Man of the Liu family encountered a young man covered in blood at the entrance of the Liu household. This young man, bald and with ferocious eyes, especially the two saber scars on his face, appeared very intimidating. Yet, he clutched a photo tightly in his hand—a photo of a woman, the bald young man’s mother. That young man was Li San. The Old Man of the Liu family, kind-hearted as he was, had him brought inside for treatment despite many advising against it. They warned that the man was clearly an assassin from the martial world, very fierce, likely highly skilled, and it seemed he had fled here from his enemies. Saving Li San could not only bring significant trouble but might also be akin to letting the wolf into the house. Nevertheless, the Old Man of the Liu family insisted on his approach, believing that a person who could cling to his mother’s photo to his dying breath, no matter how fierce, could not be all that bad. Sometimes, fierceness is a necessity, a means to survive.

Thus, Li San was saved and brought back to the Liu family. Although badly injured, he survived. Li San, with a notoriously fiery temper and ferocity, engaged in a fierce fight with the Liu family’s guards while still not fully recovered. None could match him in combat. At that time, Li San was only in his twenties, yet his strength astonished many. He would take orders from no one, except for Old Man Liu. In his heart, Old Man Liu, who had saved him, was his reborn parent.

Later, Li San became the manager of the Liu family and diligently managed their affairs for nearly twenty years. During this time, the Liu family never encountered any trouble. Many who tried to infiltrate the Liu family to gather intelligence ended up beheaded shortly after their arrival. With Li San in charge, many intelligence organizations dared not target the Liu family any longer.

As for Li San’s origins, many were greatly puzzled. Even the servants and the family’s own members of the Liu house didn’t fully understand, only Old Man Liu knew a bit. The rest heard bits and pieces here and there. It was rumored that Li San was a descendant of Monument Pushing Hand.

Monument Pushing Hand, perhaps a term many heard from "Li San of Yanzi," but the manager Li San of the Liu family was not the same Li San from Yanzi. This Li San was not a descendant of the Yanzi Sect, which in modern history is merely a minor branch of the ancient Monument Pushing Hand Sect. What they learned was not the most complete or formidable form of Monument Pushing Hand. The true Sect of Monument Pushing Hand had long sequestered itself in a desolate place, hidden from the world. Even other reclusive Ancient Martial Sects knew little of it. There had been those who sought to find this Sect, given the formidable nature of Monument Pushing Hand, something that intrigued many, especially the disciples of Ancient Martial Sects. Regrettably, no one was able to locate it.

As everyone knew, Monument Pushing Hand was extremely powerful, the training methods arduous, and it rarely bore fruit before a decade or more. But when mastery was achieved, one could split rocks with a palm strike—not to mention a human skull. When truly powerful, one could shatter a mountain with a single palm strike without any difficulty. The version of Monument Pushing Hand that Li San learned was the most authentic. His master had once said that the power of Monument Pushing Hand was immense; on the day of true mastery, it could even split the heavens. Thus, Monument Pushing Hand could cleave mountains and skies with immense power. A strike ensured death. It was not meant for those who walked the path of the chivalrous, but solely for those deemed utterly iniquitous.

The story of Li San was known to only Old Man Liu. Of course, there were also rumors that Li San was the sole heir of Monument Pushing Hand, highly perceptive and gifted in cultivation. Monument Pushing Hand was an extremely difficult technique to master, generally taking more than a decade. However, Li San had astonishingly reached a level of Small Success in just five years, making him a prodigy. His master was very pleased, as Li San was not murderous by nature. This benevolent disposition suited practicing Monument Pushing Hand, preventing excessive malevolence and avoiding indiscriminate harm.

Then one night, everything changed. Li San received news that his mother had been raped and killed in a horrific manner. Ignoring his master’s attempts to stop him, he desperately ran home, but upon arriving, all he found was his mother’s raped corpse. Li San completely broke down, becoming savage, and screamed to the heavens. He set fire to his home, burning it along with his mother’s body. That night, Li San went to the Four Seas Gang, a powerful organization led by Double Saber King, the third-ranked figure in Huaxia’s underground forces and an expert in dual-sabre combat.

Li San stormed into the Four Seas Gang alone, intent on avenging his mother and seeking justice for her. The Double Saber King was the third-ranking top powerhouse in the Black Force. His dual sabers terrified people to the core, and even the Ministry of Public Security didn’t dare to arrest him lightly because of his formidable strength, ruthless and brutal actions, and his extreme cunning. Without a foolproof plan, no one dared to act rashly.

The reason the Double Saber King had someone treacherously kill Li San’s mother was that Li San’s ancestral home blocked the expansion of the king’s territory. The house was left by Li San’s father, who had died early, and his mother, adamant about not moving, led to the dissatisfaction of the Double Saber King, who then committed outrageous and ruthless acts.

On the way to infiltrate the Four Seas Gang, Li San’s Monument Pushing Hand technique had reached Small Success, revealing immense power. This palm technique, as his master had instructed him, was indeed extremely potent and needed to be used cautiously; one strike could take a life. With every palm strike, he could literally explode a person’s body, and no matter how hard the object, it would be shattered by Li San’s palm force. He didn’t know how many people he had killed or how much blood he had on his hands. He only felt a frenzied urge to kill until his arms went weak and his vision blurred.

Regrettably, young and impulsive, his mind clouded by hatred, and faced with the cunning and ruthless Double Saber King who had set a trap, Li San fell into it. Caught, Li San, with a body full of knife wounds, realized he had been outsmarted and saw no chance to avenge his mother. He thought of fighting to the death, but just then, he touched his mother’s photo in his pocket and suddenly thought that dying there would let the Double Saber King escape justice. Who then would avenge his mother?

In the end, Li San leveraged his exceptional strength to escape from the trap set by the Double Saber King. He fled all the way to the entrance of the Liu family estate where he was rescued by Old Man of the Liu family, barely saving his life. After waking up, Li San became the steward of the Liu family, but his temperament drastically changed, becoming extremely violent. He attempted to find the Double Saber King to exact revenge multiple times but could never find him again, leaving him unable to avenge his mother. The anger burned in his heart for decades, never subsiding, changing him into the person he had become.

The reason Li San had ordered the guard to take Ye Tianchen to a rarely visited courtyard was to prevent Ye Tianchen from seeing Liu Rumei. He wanted to teach Ye Tianchen a lesson because he had once peeked at Liu Rumei bathing, which resulted in Ye Tianchen kneeling for a whole day and night and being severely beaten—by Li San himself. Having heard about some issues concerning Ye Tianchen recently, Li San wanted to severely punish him again, showing his pettiness.

"Hmph, Ye Tianchen, even if you’ve turned over a new leaf, in my eyes, you’re still nothing. I can still crush you!" Li San said bitterly to himself with a cold snort.
