Original Forest.

The location of the Heavenly Gang War General’s headquarters.

It was not a place for ordinary people to enter. In this original forest, there were not only the Heavenly Gang Barriers that shocked all the soldiers of China, but also many fierce beasts and birds. Now, the place was almost completely destroyed. If this forest hadn’t been so vast and desolate, countless lives may have already been lost.

Blood dripped from the sky, soaking the ground below. It was Man Tian’s blood. There was a massive hole in Man Tian’s left chest, from which blood ceaselessly flowed outward. The sight was terrifying. Only someone as powerful as he could survive such a wound; anyone else would have been long dead.

The Demon Wolf also wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. His chest had been kicked by Man Tian and the injury was not light, but compared to Man Tian’s wound, it was significantly minor.

"Wolf Pack Devouring Soul," this move was extremely formidable. Regardless whether the enemy struck or not, they would face an extremely terrifying death. The Demon Wolf initially thought that with nearly a decade of his understanding and the Absolute Skill he had perceived, he could kill Man Tian. However, to his surprise, Man Tian had deciphered it. Indeed, Man Tian’s strength was shocking to the Demon Wolf, who had always regarded Man Tian as a formidable opponent.

Man Tian had broken through the "Wolf Pack Devouring Soul," yet that gave the Demon Wolf a chance to strike ruthlessly. His left chest was completely penetrated by the Demon Wolf’s right hand, and he nearly lost a lung. If Man Tian hadn’t reacted quickly, he would have been a corpse by now.

"I take back what I said earlier, you have made some progress in strength," said the Demon Wolf, looking coldly at Man Tian.

"There’s no need for so many words. Today, you and I must determine the victor; only one of us can leave here alive!" In this moment, Man Tian’s eyes changed, becoming filled with an indomitable fighting spirit. The aura emanating from his entire being also startled the Demon Wolf.

"You’ve already lost!" the Demon Wolf said harshly.

"Not yet. If I lose, it only means I’m dead!" In that moment, Man Tian, with an overwhelming aura, stared at the Demon Wolf as if the wound in his left chest was nothing, without the slightest impact on him.

The Demon Wolf was startled, glared at Man Tian, and said, "Then, I’ll make you die..."

Whoosh!

A sword light tore through the sky. Beneath it, where Man Tian and the Demon Wolf fought, dark clouds suddenly appeared, thick and connected, filled with flashes of lightning and the roar of thunder. Man Tian looked up and saw that above him appeared an enormous black wolf, as if formed from the dark clouds, yet surrounded by flashing lightning. Its blood-red eyes, large as lanterns, stared intensely at Man Tian, as if its gaze alone could kill.

Man Tian had never expected the Demon Wolf to have such a terrifying secret technique. The scene was too violent, and even with his strength, he couldn’t help but feel an immense sense of danger. The huge black wolf seemed to block the entire sky, its head poking out from the clouds, its front paws reaching forward, while its lower body remained unseen, resembling a standing human figure. It struggled and howled as if trying to break free from shackles, to burst forth and bring about the end of the world.

"Is this a Summoning Skill?" Man Tian couldn’t help but ask in surprise.

"No, Summoning Skill is a legend; I don’t know if anyone in this world still knows it. This is just the murderous aura erupting from the Evil Sword, but don’t underestimate it—it can materialize!" the Demon Wolf explained with a cold laugh.

Summoning Skill truly exists on Earth. All cultivators on Earth, whether they are Superpower Users, masters from Ancient Martial Sects, or other types of cultivators, are aware of Summoning Skill. Alas, after tens of millions of years of evolution, Summoning Skill has long been lost. Although it once genuinely existed, it hasn’t been used in recent years.

If the Demon Wolf had used Summoning Skill, Man Tian would probably not have battled this giant black wolf. Instead, he would have fought the Demon Wolf with all his might, aiming to at least die with it. It’s not that Man Tian’s will to fight wasn’t strong enough, but rather that Summoning Skill is simply too powerful. It’s better to fight the Demon Wolf itself than to struggle in a life-or-death battle with something summoned.

Since the birth of humanity, people have struggled to survive in this world, full of dangers and unknown mysteries. Countless efforts were made, countless hardships endured, unspeakable sufferings experienced, and innumerable lives lost. Before humans appeared, fierce beasts and birds were the first to emerge. Innately strong, ferocious, bloodthirsty, these massive creatures absorbed the essence of heaven and earth, possessing mysterious and unpredictable powers. At that time, humans were weak and couldn’t even secure a safe haven for themselves, often falling prey to those creatures. Those were truly harrowing times; fathers helplessly watched their sons devoured, women their children, and children their parents. The pain was too great to contemplate, to describe.

Eventually, humans, in order to protect themselves and survive, began to cultivate, to train their bodies to grow stronger. They created numerous secret techniques and developed incredibly powerful Absolute Skills. During this process, countless people died while creating Cultivation Skills. Slowly, over a vast expanse of time, unsurpassed warriors and people with Great Divine Powers emerged among humans, reaching the legendary Emperor Level Realm, commanding respect from the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths—how domineering was that? They protected their kin and guarded the Human Clan. Anyone who dared to invade would be met with immediate destruction.

What is an Emperor? Unrivaled across the six directions and eight wastelands within the universe, lord of ten directions and millions of worlds!

During such an era, humanity slowly grew stronger and claimed a foothold where they would no longer be slaughtered at will. Among the secret techniques created then, Summoning Skill was one of the most formidable. Having reached such a level of power and after entering such a realm, Man Tian and the Demon Wolf naturally learned some of Earth’s hidden secrets. Earth was once a planet of cultivation, the very fantasy world everyone dreamt of. Why it evolved into its current state remains a mystery. Ye Tianchen once sought to uncover this mystery but had to proceed step by step; he had too much to do at the moment.

So when Man Tian thought that the Demon Wolf knew Summoning Skill, his astonishment was understandable. It was a potent Cultivation Skill, and in the fragmented records of Earth’s history, only the mighty used it. Once a cultivator reached a certain level of power, they might sense its existence. Whether on Earth, other planets, or in alternate dimensions, there lived mighty beasts with incredible power, hence named "divine beasts."

When a cultivator became strong enough, they could sense these divine beasts. With luck and the combination of technique and strength, they could use their Origin Essence Blood to summon them. If they successfully summoned a divine beast and pleased it, they could then sign a Blood Covenant, merging their Origin Essence Blood with that of the divine beast’s, enabling summons at any time—especially during great battles. Some divine beasts were even more potent than their masters, and their combat power was often a destructive force capable of annihilating the heavens and the earth.

Of course, if the summoned divine beast refused to sign a Blood Covenant, the summoner might face a dire outcome, perhaps even being attacked and killed by the divine beast unless they were mighty enough to subdue it. Whether a divine beast chose to sign a Blood Covenant not only depended on the summoner’s strength but also on their potential and character. A poor character would be despised by the divine beast. Many such incidents had occurred, with powerful individuals summoning even mightier divine beasts, hoping to sign a Blood Covenant, only to be rejected and ultimately devoured. Such was the risk and reward of this Cultivation Divine Art.

Regrettably, the art of summoning disappeared along with Earth’s transition from a place suitable for cultivation to a planet where spiritual energy is depleted, and many are unable to awaken their powers. Only the mighty occasionally have wind of such knowledge, yet they cannot recreate this secret technique through their own understanding. Legend has it that an Emperor Level being created this secret technique; if someone below that realm could comprehend it, they would indeed be an extraordinary genius, a rare occurrence once in a thousand years.

Roar!

A fierce roar brought Man Tian back to his senses. The giant black wolf that obscured half the sky swiped at Man Tian with a massive paw. Man Tian frowned slightly, and behind him, a gigantic Buddha bathed in golden light stood tall, utterly unfazed by the descending wolf’s paw.

"Tathagata’s Great Handprint!"

Boom!

The towering golden Buddha behind Man Tian extended a palm and pressed against the enormous black wolf’s paw. The impact caused both Man Tian and the Demon Wolf to struggle to stand firm. Such a mighty clash was astonishing. Ye Tianchen, who was closing his eyes to break through his cultivation acupoints, couldn’t help but take a glance. Witnessing such a powerful duel on Earth, a planet unsuitable for cultivation, he considered himself fortunate and was left utterly speechless! (To be continued.
