Chapter 1017: Warriors Fight?

On the other side, Noelle clashed with Terios, exchanging blow after blow. Even though they infused their ena in every single strike, the ena ended up clashing and dispersing every time, causing them not to get any advantage against the other.

“…” Noelle couldn’t help but furrow her eyebrows, muttering inwardly, ‘This guy’s control over his ena is good. He is able to match how much ena I put into my sword.’

Terios, on the other hand, was quite surprised. ‘How can this be… I have been honing my swordsmanship for three decades. Yet, I can’t even gain an upper hand against her?

‘People have told me I’m a genius, but this little girl from the Flamante family can actually match me so easily? She’s even dispersing my energy… Is this what it means to be born from a prestigious family renowned for their swords?’

Noelle and Terios tried to break their stalemate by unleashing a powerful strike. However, it looked like they had the same idea, causing that massive energy to erupt, tearing the room bit by bit.

“Hmph. It’s not good to fight here.” Murmur snorted. The space was too small for him to summon his gryphon.

On the other hand, his opponent looked like an ogre, but unlike the normal one, it had blue skin. The ena coming out of its body was like an aura that could crush anything in its path.

“I am the Ogre King of the Blue Sand Tribe, Urga. This is the name that will cut you down.” The ogre harrumphed, looking down on Murmur.

“Oh? We’re even introducing our names now. Since when is this thing mandatory?” Murmur smirked.

“It’s known as respect!” The ogre king slammed his sword with everything he had, forcing Duke Murmur to put his sword above his head.

The ogre’s sword was so powerful that it cracked the floor underneath Murmur.

“Fine. I am Murmur and I’m… a demon.” Murmur snorted.

“!!!” The ogre king looked down, feeling the intense amount of ena surging up from right underneath him.

The flame then shot up, turning into a massive pillar that blasted the ogre king into the ceiling and broke it apart.

“Raaaa!” The ogre king roared and slashed his blade, slicing the flame pillar into two. Once it was dispersed, the ogre king fell down, his eyes full of anger. “You bastard, who tarnishes the duel of a warrior!”

Murmur sighed. “I am an honorable warrior myself, but I don’t simply recognize any random person as a warrior. Do you think you are worthy?”

“!!!” The ogre king suddenly felt a presence on his back as a gryphon struck him with its head. “Gah!”

Murmur leaped into the air, his blade burning in purple flame.

“You bastard!” The ogre king waved his blade with everything he could.

“I don’t plan to entertain you.” Murmur snorted as he struck the ogre king from the side and launched him far away from their location.

Before falling down, the gryphon grabbed him with his talon and put him down smoothly on the ground.

“This is a much better place to fight.” Murmur nodded, satisfied.

Unlike Murmur, who wanted to fight in a much bigger space, the war horseman wasn’t concerned about the terrain at all. If there was a wall, he would blast it.

That was what happened to this poor familiar, who got dragged or pushed back from one room to another.

The familiar was launched and crashed into a wall that crumbled upon impact. When he stood back up, the war horseman was already in front of him, striking him again.

The familiar tried to hide behind a wall, but the war horseman simply sped up, creating an invisible force by combining his ena and momentum to crush the wall before swinging his sword.

The opposite of the war horseman was Raphael. He was concerned about the landscape a lot, as he was also the one who formed a barrier that captured all the rubble so that they didn’t harm anyone from their side.

“These demons…” Raphael let out a long sigh. In the end, even the war horseman was considered a calamity at the end of time as described. Of course, he also took care of his opponent.

Whenever his opponent attacked, a barrier would be there to block it. If he wanted to help his teammates, a barrier would be there to stop it.

In the end, it was all about barrier, barrier, and barrier. This was probably the first time in its life that it felt so helpless against a barrier.

“Hahahaha. Isn’t that good?!” Asmodeus laughed wholeheartedly. “Since it’s better to go into an open space, then let’s do it. It’s not like this ruin holds any value.”

Asmodeus, too, followed Murmur’s footsteps and blasted the enemy to break free from this small space.

“Ugh…” Raphael gritted his teeth, frustrated by these ‘evils.’

“…” Brunhild didn’t show anything big. Instead, she barely used any power during the whole fight, as if her purpose was not to take down this opponent.

In the past few months, she was Sera’s bodyguard. After all, Sera had been the primary support for everyone in their group. Of course, she kept honing her own battle sense.

But Brunhild’s role remained the same even in this scenario. She had to conserve as much ena as possible for any unexpected situation, especially since Nathan was also on this base.

Unlike in the past, she now considered all kinds of possibilities, including her master’s habit or situation.

Last but not least, Thanatos completely overpowered his opponent. In fact, when the others were just getting started, Thanatos’ opponent was already in a trance.

It was standing still, as though its soul had left its body. Thanatos’ blade had severed the connection between that body and its soul and used his ability to punish this soul.

It would still take some time before the familiar’s soul surrendered, but his chance of winning was already zero.

Thanatos even had enough energy to look around, wondering if he should help any of them.

In the end, he chose to remain in his position until someone asked for help.
