Chapter 2030: 2028 Chapter: Great Chaos
Hearing Peter Brown inquire about the situation in Rainbow Star City, the waiter replied with a bitter smile, "It’s too chaotic!"
"How did it become so chaotic?"
Peter Brown asked, puzzled.
The waiter said, "Don’t you know the situation? Since the energy in the Primordial Energy Mountains dissipated, the whole mountain has been exposed. Guess what happened?"
Peter Brown suddenly realized, the most secretive thing about the Primordial Energy Mountains was the energy itself. Without it, not only has the mountain become visible, but everyone hiding in there had been exposed as well.
Thinking about this, Peter Brown couldn’t help but shake his head, imagining what would happen next.
As expected, the waiter continued, "Once the energy suddenly dispersed, those hiding inside couldn’t stay hidden anymore. Treasures, qualification certificates, various ruins, and even avenging foes, it was all thoroughly chaotic. Everywhere, there were fights and killings.
Not only that, after news of the events spread, experts and powers from all places headed in that direction. Now, there’s looting everywhere, and so many people are dying—too many to even comprehend."
"How many qualification certificates were issued?"
"There were a lot! Qualification certificates turned up everywhere; some were even thrown on the ground, easily picked up by passers-by."
These were some clever individuals!
Hearing that some people had discarded their qualification certificates, Peter Brown also nodded silently. Holding onto a qualification certificate in such chaos was indeed seeking death.
"By the way, sir, you might not know this, but the disappearance of the energy is related to a Divine Artifact, which is said to be within that formation. Now all the powers have converged there, trying to break the formation and seize the artifact."
Formation?
Peter Brown chuckled secretly to himself; that was the formation he had set up.
"What’s the hottest commodity in the city now?" After leaving one billion top-grade God Stones in Hua Kingdom, Peter Brown was out of money and was thinking of making some.
"What else but the Divine Artifact! Everyone is fighting over there, and the auction firm fetches high prices if it involves Divine Artifacts. Last time, a Teleport Artifact was auctioned, and it was said to have been bought at a high price," said the waiter as he handed Peter Brown a recent auction catalog to browse through.
After browsing for a while, Peter Brown realized that all items related to battle and escape had significantly increased in price.
Seeing this, Peter Brown knew how he could make money.
Returning to the small courtyard where he stayed, Peter Brown was astonished to find tens of thousands of strands of faith energy accumulated there.
Seeing so much faith energy, Peter Brown was delighted and quickly used a collector to store it in his Elixir Sea.
After disguising himself, Peter Brown headed towards the city.
This time, Peter Brown changed the auction firm.
Here, the auction firm was very formal and didn’t involve cheating people. Peter Brown quickly discussed the auction details with the responsible person. This time, he was auctioning a Teleport Artifact, capable of only ten uses, along with an offensive Divine Artifact that could kill those in the Two Hundred Star Rank, also with only ten uses available.
Additionally, Peter Brown auctioned ten Heaven-Exploding Thunders, capable of killing up to Two Hundred Star Rank.
The auction firm didn’t expect Peter Brown to auction such items. Delighted, they offered him many discounts, even proposing to cut the fees by half.
The auction was to be held the next day; there was no need for much promotion as all the powers were already here. Just listing the items the day before, everyone would attend.
After finishing, Peter Brown also purposefully fetched some news to watch.
After watching for a while, Peter Brown didn’t notice any sign of the Hua Kingdom’s people, especially regarding the qualification certificates. He studied them one by one and indeed found no trace of Hua Kingdom’s personnel.
Seeing this, they probably knew of the danger and gave up!
Sighing silently, Peter Brown knew Hua Kingdom’s foundation was still insufficient; bringing qualification certificates from that place to reach the Starlight Domain was utterly impossible. He wondered how many continued on their journey towards the Starlight Domain.
At this time, Peter Brown also thought of Philips Williams and Jett Johnson and their teams, who had taken the qualifications with them. However, knowing these two, Peter Brown believed that after recognizing the impossible situation, they might give up the qualifications and continue; he just didn’t know if such teams could indeed reach the Starlight Domain.
The next morning, Peter Brown arrived early at the auction firm.
Only after arriving did Peter realize how many people from various parties had come.
The massive auction firm even began selling entrance tickets; each person needed to pay a hundred lower-grade spiritual stones to enter.
Even with the fee, this auction firm was still crowded today.
Observing carefully, Peter Brown saw individuals ranked at One Hundred Fifty Stars.
Listening to the murmurs around him, Peter Brown heard various discussions.
"It’s the Divine Artifact that can kill those of Two Hundred Star Rank!"
"Our Sect must get at least one; this kind of Divine Artifact can totally become the treasure of our Sect!"
"Yes, our Sect has the same idea; just don’t know what price it will reach."
"It’s said that this Artifact comes from the Starlight Domain, a rare item even there. With such an Artifact, the chance to survive greatly increases."
"Indeed, it’s like having a second life!"
Hearing these private discussions, Peter Brown felt reassured about the pricing of his self-made Divine Artifacts; he hadn’t expected them to be so valuable.
Looking towards the various powers that had come, Peter Brown knew he was likely to make a fortune this time.
If he could make a substantial profit this time, setting up the Teleport path to the Starlight Domain would be much easier!
As his gaze swept over the people, Peter Brown’s eyes suddenly brightened; he spotted a familiar face.
Carter Greenhill, Deputy Sect Master of the Beast Sect, was following behind a master of One Hundred Thirty Star Rank. Observing his attire, Peter Brown noticed he was no longer dressed in the Beast Sect’s robes but had switched to the attire of that Sect’s people.
Changing Sects, huh!
Seeing him like this, Peter Brown understood that having seen a more powerful Sect, he had left the Beast Sect and joined that other Sect.
Wondering how many had left their original Sects!
Feeling a sense of resignation, Peter Brown recognized Greenhill but chose not to approach him. From what could be seen, his qualification certificate was already gone.
