Chapter 1846: Chapter 1844: Passed
A massive amount of energy was infused into the formation, and Peter Brown internally praised himself for adding Breath Soil to the formation; without it, the formation wouldn’t have been as resistant.
Although the formation was shaking, it was clear that it had not been breached, and it remained firmly in place.
Looking at the fierce beasts that collided with the formation, one could see that under the guidance of the formation, they bolted out from the rear of the formation.
The fierce beasts were probably also confused by what was happening. Luckily, they didn’t have much intelligence and after hesitating briefly, they sprinted off into the distance.
Observing the fierce beasts that arrived later, it was obvious that the majority of them had seen the cliff and, upon seeing the corpses of their counterparts that had crashed, slowed down.
While they slowed down out front, the beasts from behind did not.
Therefore, what Peter saw was a large number of fierce beasts colliding with those in front of them.
After the collision, the area in front of the formation turned into a mass of beasts smashing into each other.
The entire horde extended backwards.
More fierce beasts began gnawing at the dead bodies.
With this, the formation at the rear no longer suffered such strong impacts, and even if fierce beasts collided, the threat had lessened.
The collisions moved further away into the distance, and the situation around Peter became calmer.
Looking out, a great number of fierce beasts were spewing energy, furiously feasting right there.
The dead bodies and those that were eating formed defensive lines like barricades.
Looking up to the Azure Sky, Peter noticed that most of the flying beasts had also swooped down to the ground to scramble for the corpses, and even those remaining in the sky wouldn’t approach Peter’s location, as it appeared to them as a volcano.
Sitting on the ground, Peter finally let out a sigh of relief. If he hadn’t withstood the first wave, his formation would have been breached. Fortunately, the defense held strong, and he had withstood the attack of the fierce beasts.
With the situation having developed to this stage, Peter knew that his location was now safe.
When looking over the situation with the fierce beasts and flying creatures, Peter looked toward the formation and still found some beasts breaking into it.
Faced with the fierce beasts that had entered the formation, Peter didn’t attack them, given it would require a significant amount of energy, and such consumption wasn’t necessary.
Peter utilized a method of inducement, guiding the fierce beasts in the formation to leave it.
Soon, one after another, the fierce beasts suddenly exited the formation.
Realizing the danger here, once out of the formation, the beasts desperately fled into the distance.
Watching as all the beasts in the formation had left, Peter sat there catching his breath. Despite the small amount of work he had done, Peter felt utterly exhausted.
Alright, the next step was to observe. After the collisions and feasting of the fierce beasts, any of them reaching this spot wouldn’t attack his formation anymore. He was now safe.
Looking over the two-acre Divine Valley Land, Peter saw the Divine Valley had not sustained much damage. After straightening out the damaged areas and infusing some energy for recovery, he checked the formation until he was sure there were no issues. Only then did he realize he was genuinely hungry.
Taking out something resembling a furnace, Peter began preparing food to eat.
Unknown to Peter at that time, a thousand kilometers away, all the disciples of the Star Sect had gathered.
After retreating here, the entire Star Sect had suffered heavy losses. Originally boasting a hundred thousand disciples, successive defeats had whittled their numbers. Many had quietly deserted en route to this location, not wishing to come here. Hence, by the time Star Sect arrived, they had only eight thousand disciples left.
Eight thousand people were indeed a great power in this world, but only the Sect’s upper level knew that after several battles, whether killed or seriously injured, and many others dispersed, the Sect’s experts had become very few.
In the past, with the Sect’s formidable power, even a Beast Tide would not have been a significant issue. But this time, the people of Star Sect felt like they were facing a formidable enemy. They had a suspicion that it wasn’t just a Beast Tide to worry about, but that behind the fierce beasts, there must be high-ranking experts approaching.
Sure enough, as a large number of fierce beasts accurately encircled the Star Sect’s personnel, this guess turned into reality.
Several high-ranking sect members were sitting cross-legged in a room, their faces looking extremely grim.
"Never expected that Beast Sect would still come after us," sighed an old man.
"Our experts have been exhausted too much. Now Beast Sect has driven the region’s fierce beasts toward us; they want to wear out our high-level fighters!"
"Not just that, we’ve also discovered that Beast Sect sent their Tenth Rank fierce beasts. Every increase in rank of a beast equates to the power of ten stars. A Tenth Rank beast is almost comparable in strength to a Hundred-Star person. Although we have a few Hundred-Star individuals, facing the might of Beast Sect, can we hold on?"
Everyone’s faces turned even uglier at the mention of this.
"Yes, if it had been before, we would still have had the strength to fight. But now, we lack such power."
They were all clear-headed, so their discussions lacked some subtlety.
"No matter what, the only thing we can do is to fight them!"
They discussed for a while but couldn’t come to a conclusion.
A female elder sighed and said, "It wasn’t easy getting tens of thousands of Miscellaneous Disciples; it’s a pity they were destroyed in one go."
"Those Chore Disciples weren’t that important; if they died, they died. Now I’m more worried about our formal disciples. If they die, it will be a colossal blow to our Sect."
"Let’s discuss what we should do?"
After a moment of hesitation, an elder said, "We definitely can’t stay here; Beast Sect won’t allow us to linger. Alas, we’ll have to flee again."
They looked at each other, all understanding that this was the correct decision and that they would have to escape.
"We can only have some people hold the line while the others try to break through."
After thinking for a moment, the Sect Leader sighed, "I don’t know how many disciples will survive after this. That’s the way it is!"
