Chapter 1470: Chapter 1470: Leaving After the Deed is Done_1
"What’s your name?" After everything was settled, Peter Brown finally thought to ask the woman’s name, knowing only that the young man called her Fairy Skylar Spencer.
"I am Skylar Spencer of the Color Spirit Gate."
Seeing Peter Brown look at the man, Skylar Spencer hurriedly said, "He is Lucas Thompson, the son of sect lord Jake Thompson."
"I’ll leave this to you."
After Peter finished speaking, he released Skylar Spencer’s ban, expanded his figure and left.
The departure of Peter Brown also left Skylar Spencer in a daze, as she had thought Peter might do something else, but he did nothing more and just left.
Thinking that as a Daughter of Heaven, revered by ten million within her sect, she could be overpowered by someone and robbed of her body, she truly wanted to cry but found no tears. Reflecting on her intimacy with Peter, especially his formidable power, Skylar Spencer clenched her legs and actually felt some sensation returning.
While she was reflecting on these matters, Lucas Thompson’s eyes gleamed with joy, and he was eager to speak.
Skylar Spencer quickly cast aside the myriad thoughts in her brain and turned her attention to Lucas.
She quickly found a set of clothes to wear and once again restored her image as the Daughter of Heaven.
When she released Lucas’s mute acupoint, he cried out loudly, "Immortal maiden, quickly remove my ban!"
Fairy Skylar Spencer stood there with a complex expression, looked at Lucas and then said, "This is my secret, which I do not wish anyone else to know."
After finishing her words, she picked up the other’s broadsword and slew Lucas with a single strike.
After taking care of these matters, Skylar Spencer gathered her shattered clothes and other items, then took out a fire talisman. When she sacrificed it, Lucas’s corpse was also incinerated.
After bombarding the area with powerful energy such that no one could discern what had transpired, Skylar Spencer finally vanished with a flash.
After Skylar Spencer had left, Peter Brown emerged from a hidden spot.
Looking around the place, Peter Brown shook his head with a smile, thinking that the woman was still not professional enough, as a determined person could still find some issues.
Well, I might as well help her out.
With this thought, Peter Brown spent some time dealing with the situation before he left.
As he walked, Peter Brown felt that there was something odd about himself; he harbored neither unease nor regret for his actions today. These tasks seemed like a natural course of action for him.
Peter could not grasp what his mental state was, but he sensed some change within himself—the change in his heart, the way he did things, no longer bound by any set framework. It was as though he could decide everything, as if all things before him were at his disposal to do with as he pleased.
Could this be the mindset of a Saint?
Peter knew in his heart that if anything were affecting his actions and thoughts, it would be the Sacred Fate Seed that had entered his body, carrying with it the power of holy fate.
Looking inside himself, Peter Brown discovered that the seed had tightly merged with him and became indistinguishable from his being.
An immense amount of energy was rushing into his body, but Peter realized he needed an astronomical amount of energy to upgrade. The energy currently pouring into him was only a fraction of a percent of what was needed for his advancement, still very far from the amount required.
However, Peter knew that the most dangerous hurdle had already passed, and as long as he wasn’t sought out by the Sacred Fate Seed’s recipient, he should be temporarily safe.
Two days later, Peter finally arrived at Pilgrim City, where the Provincial Government House was located.
Pilgrim City was said to be a city where a Saint had preached, hosting tens of millions of residents, and was considered a large city indeed.
When Peter entered, sure enough, no one questioned his identity, and he could enter directly.
It was then that Peter realized that entry into the city wasn’t as strictly regulated as he thought; unless one committed a crime, nobody would come to check or inquire.
After some thought, Peter didn’t check into an inn, but instead found a place that rented out houses and rented one himself.
It was clear that for now, his identity had to remain a secret. If he stayed at an inn, people could easily find out about his whereabouts. Peter needed time, he needed to properly understand the Immortal Realm; only by becoming familiar with such a place could Peter survive better.
The landlord was an old man who didn’t ask questions and only focused on cultivation.
Peter even noted that the old man’s cultivation was very high, probably having passed several Immortal Tribulations.
This is the housing of the Immortal Realm?
Looking around the empty room, Peter had no choice but to go out and buy quite a few necessary items from the place the old man had mentioned.
After tidying up the house, Peter went to buy some food and then began to cook.
Looking at the food laid out on the table, Peter found it amusing; how could mortals know what life was like for an Immortal.
During his journey, Peter had observed carefully; the Immortal Realm was much like Mortal Society, with its disparities between rich and poor. The rich had a wealth of resources and could cultivate quickly, whereas the poor did not have this luxury, with many even becoming slaves.
Of course, Peter also noticed that the cultivation of Immortals relied more on enlightenment; once they had a breakthrough understanding, they could advance. If they failed to grasp it, then even with abundant resources, they wouldn’t be able to improve.
If there was anything fair, this was probably the only truly fair aspect.
Every day in the Immortal Realm, instances of the underdog rising above their station occurred, with those from the lower echelons becoming powerful.
This is a very interesting place!
After eating, Peter remembered that he hadn’t taken Lucas Thompson’s ring, having let Skylar Spencer have it instead.
Forget it, it can be considered a form of compensation for that woman.
Now, the issue before Peter was how to quickly upgrade his cultivation.
After several battles, Peter also recognized his own shortcomings; without the power of the bow and arrow, he would find it difficult to fight against Strong Persons. However, if he encountered someone even stronger, the bow and arrow might not be very effective. How could he significantly enhance his own combat power?
Peter understood in his heart that he couldn’t count on a rapid improvement in his cultivation; the only thing he could rely on was hiding some immensely powerful Immortal Artifacts and using them to attack.
However, Peter also knew that the so-called Immortal Artifacts of the Immortal Cultivation Realm were quite different from those here; in this place, he would have to learn the true Refining Technique of Immortal Artifacts.
