Chapter 1440: Chapter 1440 Ollie Morris Plays Big_1
With the arrival of a massive amount of materials, Peter Brown had also refined the formation he needed.
To be precise, it wasn’t a cultivation formation but rather a piece of technology that utilized a certain kind of energy flow to activate and then generate a thick energy shield. This technique was usually used in interstellar spaceship navigation. Now, Peter used it to protect the island.
In some technological dimensions, interstellar navigation involved large spaceships transporting personnel, some of which were even larger than the sun, so setting up a small defensive formation for Peter wasn’t much of a problem.
The energy Peter used was directly drawn from the ocean, tapping into its energy to power the shield, ensuring the defense was entirely robust.
Of course, to prevent the Sea Clan from exploiting the sea water, Peter also integrated natural energy sources. With the combined use of both types of energy, even the Sea Clan couldn’t breach his defense.
After setting up the shield, Peter didn’t activate it right away; he planned to raise it only when it was critically necessary.
Afterwards, Peter spent his time observing the trees in his Elixir Sea growing while also manufacturing flying vehicles.
At this time, the AI kept sending intelligence reports from all over the world to Peter.
Only now did he realize that the Huxing Empire was facing serious issues; domestic rebellions were increasing, and foreign powers were massing at the borders, ready to invade at any moment.
Just then, Ollie Morris made a phone call. As soon as the call connected, Ollie said loudly, "Peter, we’ve got trouble. They’ve joined forces."
"What are they planning to do?"
Peter was curious about Ollie’s actions too.
Ollie said, "I haven’t been idling for ten thousand years. I’ve studied some attack methods. I launched a sneak attack on that person in the West Sea and injured him. Then, I attacked another in the East Sea, injuring him too. Now, both want to kill me, but on land, they’re temporarily helpless. They intend to use the power of the sea to flood the Continent."
Damn!
Peter hadn’t expected Ollie to take such a risk just for achievement points.
"They can control the sea water?"
Correct, from what I know, they now possess that power. If there are no surprises, a tsunami in the next few days will be their first probe."
"What’s your plan? Can you withstand them?"
"I definitely can’t, but you can help. I believe with your assistance, we can certainly defeat them."
Peter gave a wry smile, seeing how Ollie, the old rascal, wanted to drag him into this warfare.
"I don’t dare to offend them. It’s your problem, you handle it."
"Peter, we’ve got no choice. I don’t care about the Human Species. When the time comes, I will activate various propaganda tools for publicity. Facing the Sea Clan’s assault and the humans’ despair, Ollie Morris will step forward to fight the two leaders of the Demon Clan. Tell me, with so many people watching, how will my achievement points increase? I can rapidly gain three thousand, then successfully gather my immortal qualifications, and in an instant I’ll leave."
Damn it!
Only then did Peter understand Ollie’s scheme. The crafty old man was eyeing this opportunity to gather achievement points and leave, with no further concern for the aftermath.
While Ollie might be indifferent, Peter had to care; this was where the images of his parents existed, and Peter didn’t wish for the human territories to be destroyed.
Laughing heartily, Ollie said, "Peter, there will be plenty of achievement points then. You can also take this chance to gather a lot. We’ll meet in the Immortal Realm, brother!"
Ollie was now truly excited; after waiting for ten thousand years, he finally saw hope.
After hanging up the phone, Peter didn’t feel too good. Others might not know how formidable the Sea Clan’s control was, but he did. If left unchecked, their waves would be high enough to flood a great deal of land, leaving no coastal city untouched. Peter’s predicament was that he had no solution, the only option being to truly repel the Demon Immortals.
What a mess he’d gotten himself into!
Looking at his Elixir Sea, the small tree had turned into a large one, its green and crimson leaves growing vigorously, and his achievement points increasing. He really didn’t know when he would reach saturation.
At that moment, Freddie Hamilton also called.
"Comrade Peter Brown, you should be aware of some of the nation’s situation, right?"
"I’m not too clear on it," Peter pretended to be unaware.
Freddie said, "The Sonic device is indeed a good thing. However, they have already found a way to counter it. Just needling the ears is enough to make the Sonic Wave harmless to them."
Peter asked, "What is your point of view?"
"We know you have a powerful Laser cannon, and we hope you can sell it to us."
So they were aiming for the Laser cannon!
Peter hadn’t planned on supplying them with the cannon. Instead, he said, "Aside from those two threats, there’s something I need to tell you. There are powerful intelligent creatures in the sea, and in the next few days, they’re likely to launch an attack on the Continent. The coastal cities might be in danger. I hope you can arrange for evacuations."
"Comrade Peter Brown, your warning is as good as none. Do you realize how populous the coastal areas are? An evacuation would cause serious consequences that no one can bear."
Peter sighed internally, believing he’d done his part in issuing the warning. The outcome didn’t concern him anymore.
"Leader, if they attack, the Huxing Empire’s economy will regress by many years."
"Right now, the empire’s most crucial task is to quell internal turmoil and repel foreign invaders!"
Upon hearing their dismissal, Peter shook his head; he realized he was meddling more than needed.
Forget it; he couldn’t influence this situation. The full assault of the Sea Clan wasn’t a trivial matter, and Peter believed the entire world would be thrown into chaos soon.
"Master, the satellite has sent information. Life forms in the sea are gathering. They’re definitely preparing to attack."
After the AI’s report, Peter’s face turned grim, knowing humanity alone couldn’t cope. Ollie was the sort who thrived in chaos, not one to save people proactively. But what could he do to save the people himself?
