Chapter 295: Getting Meng Jueyan’s Assistance

Han Yu spent several hours watching the people from afar, his mind going through various methods he could use to get in.

But no matter what he came up with, it all seemed inviable to him.

"Looks like attempting this alone is not possible. I’ll have to rely on some help," Han Yu concluded.

Thankfully for him, he had kept a helping hand nearby.

Thinking of this, he quickly picked up the high-grade communication jade slip and contacted the sole contact that was registered in it.

The message was sent instantly, and a minute later he received a response.

’I shall do as you instruct, Elder,’ was the reply.

Han Yu smiled and muttered, "Let’s see what you can come up with, Meng Jueyan."

With that done, he left the area and went back into the forest. He stood there in silence, listening to the sound of rustling leaves as well as the cries of beasts that inhabited the forest. On his travel, he had come across a few beasts but had managed to kill them relatively easily, as they were just at the Qi Refining realm.

He patted the spatial storage bag with satisfaction, feeling quite content with it.

’I should take this chance to fill it up to the brim. I still got enough space left in it after storing the Bronze Tribe wolf corpses Meng Jueyan hunted, as well as the other beasts I hunted on the way,’ Han Yu thought to himself. ’I should get quite a bit of bonus with this,’ he reckoned.

After all, he wasn’t restricted from storing more corpses. The only condition he had on borrowing the bag was to return it in its original condition. Though it also made him yearn for a spatial storage bag of his own even more.

In the stories of cultivators he had heard, a spatial storage treasure like a bag or ring was a staple. No cultivator would be complete without one. And while he did have enough merit points to get a spatial storage bag, he would end up spending all of them, which he could not afford, as he needed to save for the other materials he needed for the Undying Life Charm.

Not to mention, the spatial storage bag he would get with it would be of the lowest grade and would only have enough space for a couple of weapons, some pills, and spirit stones. He might not even be able to store more than a single beast corpse in it if it were the size of a Bronze Tribe Wolf.

As Han Yu continued to think of this, he soon heard a set of footsteps.

They were clearly intended for him to sense, to make sure he didn’t mistake them for an enemy.

"That was quick," Han Yu said as he spotted the woman in a plain white mask.

"It is the order of the elder. I cannot waste any time," Meng Jueyan replied.

"That’s good. Elder Yi really picked someone competent. I wonder how many more people like us he has," Han Yu said, showing a look of wonder on his face.

"It is Elder Yi. He has an eye for talent," Meng Jueyan replied in a plain tone. "So what is it that you needed help with? Elder Yi asked me to go find you."

"You already know about the mining operation, right?" Han Yu said, pretending as if he weren’t the one who had instructed her in the first place.

Meng Jueyan nodded.

"They’re intending to send the spirit stones to some elders of the Twin Leaf Peak Sect as well as some other prominent cultivators," Meng Jueyan stated.

"Then you must know we cannot let that happen," Han Yu replied.

"If this is the wish of Elder Yi, then it will have to be," Meng Jueyan stated without question.

"Then we need to find a way to get in," Han Yu replied.

"That will be difficult..." Meng Jueyan’s brows furrowed under her mask. "The scouts have checked the formation and it is beyond something I can handle. I am not versed in formations enough to do it. From my estimates, it was set by a Core Condensation realm formation master at the very least," she added.

"Hmm, I did guess that," Han Yu replied. "But I have another method..."

"What is it?" she asked, feeling curious.

"It’s a trump card Elder Yi gave me, and it’ll be able to break the formation... or so I hope," Han Yu replied. "But doing that directly would definitely attract attention. As such, I need a distraction," he added.

"You want me to draw the attention?" Meng Jueyan questioned, feeling averse to it.

"No, no." Han Yu shook his head. "That will be too dangerous. Elder Yi said you’re valuable," he said, flattering the woman a bit.

"Then what do you propose?" Meng Jueyan asked, her tone a bit softer than before.

A wisp of yellow energy drifted over to Han Yu, making him smile internally.

’So my silver tongue works on her too...’ Han Yu had done a little test to see how much of an enmity she had with him.

But it was clear that with Elder Yi’s warning, Meng Jueyan had abandoned any thoughts of offending him.

"We’re in a forest. We have plenty of targets that can draw the attention for us," Han Yu spoke. "And I believe you’ll have a method to do that?" he asked, knowing already that Meng Jueyan—or rather, the Mist Eye Sect disciples—were decently versed with poisons and other substances.

"I can..." Meng Jueyan said, understanding what the boy meant.

She put her hand in a small pouch by her side and took out a glass vial.

"This can work," she said.

"What is this?" Han Yu asked, looking at the vial. "Poison?"

"No. It’s Frenzy Vine Sap," Meng Jueyan replied.

"What does it do?" Han Yu recalled hearing the name from Li Mei before but didn’t know its use. ’Does it make the consumer go crazy or something?’ It sounded exactly like something Li Mei would use.
