Chapter 88: Gift?

"Are there no new tricks?" Leon was a bit unwilling.

"When your shadow control is better, you will be qualified to study new magic." the Black Family Patriarch glared at Leon.

Under his father’s iron fist, Leon could only rush to the dark room to practice. It was a room filled with dark element magic and Leon had to stay there for a long time before he was allowed to go out.

This was how they usually practiced.

Silas only looked at Leon for a while and then looked at Black Family Patriarch. "Patriarch, if there’s nothing else, then I..."

"Stay here for a while." Black Family Patriarch looked at Silas and then asked, "How’s your shadow magic’s progress?"

"It’s going well, Patriarch," Silas replied but didn’t answer the specific.

Silas knew very well that the person who could become the patriarch in every family was the strongest magic warrior. With the resources piled up for the current patriarch’s family, especially their children, they would usually be the strongest one.

If their children were not strong enough, their close relative’s children would also be chosen because with their strong genes, they were usually stronger than the other ordinary members of the clan.

Among the Black Family, Silas undoubtedly number one among the younger generation.

It was undeniable that Leon was a few years younger than him, but Leon’s performance over the years have already told them that his talent was actually not as good as Silas.

It was miles away.

Silas awakened his shadow magic before he was four years old and then practiced hard under the supervision of his father. Even though Silas’s father had lost the position of patriarch, he still has enough resources to train his son well.

Because of this, Silas was able to participate in the war and made a lot of contributions when he was only 8 to 9 years old.

It was a bit young, but for the Black Family, their magic control has always been the most important.

Their mana amount could never compare to the Green Family that seemed to be in drugs. But it was not that bad and it would grow normally with time.

The Black Family has never been obsessed with mana.

Because their shadow magic only required very little mana to operate.

Unless they were using it to fight against powerful magic warriors or other powerful mages, then their mana would not decrease much.

Some of them could even recover as fast as they used it.

In this way, Silas was able to use his magic to gather various information and perform countless assassination ever since he was young. Their Black Family’s magic was simply the most suitable for this.

Well, of course that was if they didn’t meet anyone from the White Family.

The two families were indeed nemesis to each other.

"I know you don’t want to show me." the Black Family Patriarch could see through Silas’s thoughts.

Silas didn’t want the patriarch’s position.

For Silas, it was enough for his cousin to be the patriarch while he became the ordinary magic warriors. Because becoming a patriarch meant a lot of responsibility and Silas would not have enough time to do what he actually wanted to do.

Does managing the entire family easy?

No.

It has never been easy.

Because of this, Silas didn’t want to show too much of his strength again after his father’s death.

"Patriarch," Silas said, but he was interrupted.

"Now that my son will be under your care, I hope you can protect him." After that the Black Family Patriarch took out a black crystal core and handed it to Silas.

"This is a rank 6 magic core. Use it well."
