Chapter 188: Silent Company

Silas was not doing anything.

He was only sitting while looking up at the night sky above.

After that mission, he was brought back for questioning and Silas was not sure how to answer these questions. Because he knew very well that whatever he said, they wouldn’t believe him.

After repeated questioning, Silas was able to meet with the Fourth Head of the Wansu City.

But even he didn’t fully believe him.

Now that the list was lost, there were many people in danger.

And the cause was because of his mother.

Silas felt really conflicted.

In his wandering mind, he heard faint footsteps and turned to look to the side. Seeing Aya coming here, Silas blinked his eyes but didn’t stop her. His dark eyes watched as Aya came closer and then sat beside him.

Just sitting.

She didn’t touch him and still kept some distance. This distance was enough for him to feel her presence, but it was not to the point where she would touch him or bother him.

Aya didn’t say anything.

She looked in his direction and her black eyes were staring in his direction calmly. There was no emotion visible in her eyes, but Silas felt that he saw distress within it. He didn’t know if it was only his imagination, but he didn’t look in Aya’s direction anymore and instead looked back at the sky.

He was not in the mood to talk.

And Aya also didn’t talk.

They simply sat in silence as time passed.

From early night to midnight until it was dawn.

None of them moved or talked.

They only sat like that, sensing each other’s presence and knew they were there but there were no words that were said.

It took Silas a long time to say, "No one outside of the Black Family should be in Black Family’s forest."

"Without the presence of someone from the Black Family," Aya said.

Silas pursed his lips.

It was precisely the sentence he said to Aya back then when she came here before. He turned to look at Aya and said, "Thank you for accompanying me."

Sometimes, no words were needed.

The company of someone was the most important thing.

"Your students still need their teacher, Brother Silas," Aya said seriously. Without Silas, it was estimated that their team wouldn’t be able to do anything. Or it was more like, they wouldn’t be able to stay in one team without other intervention.

Because their team was indeed a bit special.

Silas smiled faintly and nodded.

"Let’s go back."

*grumble*

The two of them paused and Silas looked at Aya meaningfully.

Aya lowered her head with her cheek turned red. She was cursing her stomach countless times inside her mind. Why did it have to sound at this very moment?

Well, it was not her fault.

The two of them basically stayed out here all night long, doing nothing.

If they were not hungry, it would be rather strange.

But Aya’s stomach made a sound at the wrong time.

Silas chuckled. "Let’s go to my rest... no, my house to eat for a bit."

His mother’s house has been locked by the dark guards under the Fourth Head of the Wansu City’s order. No one could get close or enter, so there was no point going there now.

His house is in the Black Family’s area.

Normally, other people outside the Black Family were not allowed to enter, but at this time, Silas didn’t care about it. There were already many people from other families that the Fourth Head of the Wansu City sent over not long ago to search people.

Silas was not even sure that his house was not entered by others.

"Okay," Aya agreed.

"After this, I’ll take you back to the White Family Residence," Silas said with a sigh.

Aya blinked her eyes.

It seemed that she forgot something, but she couldn’t think of anything.

The two of them walked out of the forest and went to the Black Family’s area. It was almost dawn and the sky was slowly brightened up, but it was still relatively early. There was almost no one on the street since it was still too early.

Some people had started to prepare for work, though.

Silas headed to his family’s area and nodded at the two guards from the Black Family who were guarding there.

The two people looked at Silas with complicated expressions but didn’t say anything.

As for Aya?

They selectively ignore that Silas was bringing his student back to his house.

Silas’s house was located not far from the gate and it didn’t take long for both of them to reach it. Silas looked at his house and sighed deeply. "Come in and make yourself at home."

"Yes?"

Aya was confused.

"I mean, make yourself comfortable. There’s no need to hold back or anything, there’s no one else here," Silas said calmly and walked inside.

Hearing this, Aya pursed her lips but she still entered the house.

For the patriarch’s nephew, Silas’s house was relatively small. Aya guessed that this was because Silas sold his old house and bought this one house for him and his mother. After all, it was not like both of them needed a big house when there were only two people in the house.

Now, Silas is even alone.

Aya looked at this house and sighed deeply.

She lived alone in her previous life and knew very well how lonely it is to have no one around.

However, she suppressed her thoughts and walked inside, heading to the kitchen where Silas was located.

"Just wait outside." Silas’s lips twitched. "Don’t think that I forget that you can’t cook at all."

"Ah, I can try!" Aya complained.

"No. I don’t want my stomach to hurt after eating your miraculous dishes."

Aya rolled her eyes, but she still walked out obediently. Thinking about the few dishes that she made, it was not an exaggeration to say that those are poisons rather than food. She also didn’t really want to eat that kind of food.
