Chapter 635: Section 447: Blood of Carter (Part 2)_2

In his past life, Malin wasn’t able to leave anything behind, but in this life, to be able to leave so many branches of his bloodline, Malin felt completely satisfied.

However, Matilda’s child was named Haus... Why would he be named Haus? All the other children took the surname Gaiate. It seems that the situation wasn’t as Malin had previously thought, that it was Matilda’s son who married into the Haus family, but rather it was the last daughter who married some lad from the Haus family.

Hmm... that’s right, I was thinking crooked before.

And how should I put it, Jessica, Lillim, and Clovis, these three branches I wasn’t able to find out about from the newspapers, but anyhow, if they have children, with their current strengths, they would undoubtedly be able to leave a considerable inheritance for their children. Malin believed he could help out as well. So if even with that, they were to come to an end, one could only say it was fate.

At this thought, Malin put aside the unpleasant feelings in his heart, turned to the new page of the newspaper, and saw the new content—The Institution of Magic and Science Research’s latest study indicated that every person in our world is capable of deep diving; it’s just that some people are born with the ability, while others need to activate their bloodline power.

Wow, what is this, it sounds so grand.

Malin, surprised, quickly read through the content.

The Institution of Magic and Science Research must be the academy that Malin co-founded in Sydney in the Union. The newspaper didn’t mention how to activate the power of the bloodline, but it’s quite obvious that the benefits of activation are listed—for example, once someone’s bloodline power is activated, they can deep dive, return to the past to enter the memories of their ancestors, and gain various enhancements.

At the bottom, a name caught Malin’s attention—Tot Haus.

His mate was a Toby rabbit, the kind that’s all mutated.

Seems similar to Clovis.

Malin was a bit puzzled by the appearance of this male rabbit, but considering that rabbit mutations are all like this, he didn’t say anything.

Just as he was about to continue reading the newspaper, Malin’s stomach began to wail, and a feeling of hunger followed. So he had to leave the room in search of something to eat.

The restaurant in his own hotel should be on the fourth floor, Malin took the floating elevator, a very practical piece of alchemical and engineering technology, and upon reaching the fourth floor, he glanced over the menu and ordered something at random.

"Young sir, isn’t that a bit much?" the waiter asked with some doubt.

"I can eat quite a bit," Malin replied with a smile.

The waiter also smiled, nodded, and said, "I’ll have the kitchen prepare it for you right away, young sir."

Malin randomly chose a seat near another table, and as he was about to read the newspaper, a young man at the neighboring table saw Tot Haus on Malin’s newspaper and immediately laughed: "Young sir, do you also believe what this guy is saying? His own deep diving is definitely flawed. Out of the first two hundred volunteers, all of them were able to find their distant ancestors along their bloodline chain, but only he couldn’t find his. He could only reach as far back as the last Chaos invasion era, and even that was through the maternal line; the paternal line couldn’t be confirmed at all. Those who volunteered with him could find paternal lines that went as far back as the ancient times before the Great Cataclysm."

"Is that so?" Malin was somewhat puzzled.

"Of course, and it’s not just him, three volunteers from the Gaiate family and four from the Haus family are in the same boat. Maybe even you, Mr. Mil Haus."

Mil Haus?

What, I am Mil Haus?

Haus... wait a minute, doesn’t Haus mean horse in English?

Hold on, if Haus equals horse, then it means... my bloodline must have split into two major branches, one named Haus and the other Gaiate.

Then who is the mother of this body?

With no trace of orc blood, it should rule out Lillim and Jessica... could it be that I became a scoundrel?

Whoa.

Just as Malin felt as if he had stumbled upon a revelation, a hand suddenly grabbed his tail.

Malin turned around and saw a Fox Girl.

"Mir, overslept again?" the photo of Miss Jane split into a grin.

The server came over with the food Malin had ordered at that time, "Your dinner, young master, and Miss Jane, you’re here today too."

"Yeah, just checking on my little brother, you silly sheep, why are you eating so little again today?"

Malin raised an eyebrow.

This body... is it a descendant of me and Lillim?

Reaching back, ah, there really was a tail.

Hmm... it must be the mixed blood with elves that topped off the dominant feature of having horns.

"Daydreaming again... Tomorrow I will be at the concert, make sure you come too," Miss Big Sister said, then turned her head and snorted at the young man, "The Haus family’s affairs are none of your concern, you stinky monkey, better think about what your ancestors were."

Having said that, the Fox Girl patted Malin’s head and then walked away without looking back.

Malin turned to glance at the young man who, with a flushed face, noticed that Malin was looking at him, snorted as well, and then got up and left.

"Who is he, I forget for a moment," Malin turned to the server.

"You’re rarely humorous, young master, that’s Karl, the descendant of that polyamorous Logan... "Oh him."

As soon as Logan was mentioned, Malin remembered; wasn’t this kid just an unripe Logan? Speaking of which, is he a descendant of Logan and Miriam?

It seems the little fox girl doesn’t have a good relationship with him.

With that thought, Malin picked up a chicken leg and bit off a piece.

The first thought was that the leg was really delicious.

The second thought was that this child really was of mixed blood, Lillim wouldn’t eat meat at all.

After a hearty indulgence in food, Malin, now full, wrote down the name Mir Haus on the check and then, under the somewhat surprised gaze of the server, raised his hand and gave a minor blessing of wisdom—considering the previously mentioned Institution of Magic and Science Research, this world should still have Spell Formations, right?

So why make such a big deal with that surprised look.

Throwing the newspaper into the trash, Malin prepared to go out to view the night scene, thinking that the weather in Carterburg had also improved. He had thought it was a curse from his old mentor or an issue with the Chaos in the North, but it seems Carterburg is actually one of the nodes for Chaos’s invasion. Simply put, the Subspace of Chaos had much contact with this region.

After the Subspace was stripped away, things became normal again.

Hmm, if this future really is the true future, for Malin, it’s already extremely satisfying.

Without Subspace, without the Evil God, and although the Rightful Gods are gone as well, at least humanity has once again become its own master, with no future of despair and fear... Walking on the streets familiar yet strange, seeing the mall that Casaman entered back in the days now turned into a bar, Malin felt like going in to take a look, but was blocked at the door by an Orc security guard, who pointed to the sign next to the door that prohibited minors and shook a finger at Malin.

All right, Malin backed away, then noticed another mall on the opposite side.

Walking in and looking around, Malin saw many new things, like the stainless steel basin... let’s not talk about those, Malin turned his head with some embarrassment and noticed a radio on the other end, walked over and observed for a while, and found that it could only receive a very few stations now, seemingly all owned by the Haus family.

After listening for a while, the radio was officially stating the death of Wayne Gaiate, and the Free Territory of Carterburg and The Great Forest Land were the closest allies, with the Free Territory of Carterburg standing with The Great Forest Land, fighting to the end against the murderers of Wayne Gaiate.

It was also mentioned that the lord of the Free Territory, Angel Haus, had fallen seriously ill from grief after the assassination of her family’s cousin.

Interesting, it seems the world 1600 years in the future had not calmed down from losing the Evil God and Subspace.

Or rather... it had been calm for too long, and the people of the present had forgotten the sufferings their ancestors had gone through.
