Chapter 1163: Section 715: Sage (3)_2
"So that’s how it is." Malin internally disapproves of Sostak No.3’s capitalist practice of exposing secrets, but he can’t deny the allure of North America’s eighteen-month warranty.
After some griping, Sostak No.3 acknowledges the effectiveness of these shells, thinking that even if the Chaos Folk pull out their armored units, they wouldn’t be invincible; it’s just that once they do, it’s astonishing.
"So you’re suggesting that besides this, we should also create steel needles?" Malin thought for a moment: "No way, Chaos Armor might not even be afraid of the high penetration depth of steel needles. We also need to engrave holy glyphs on the steel needles."
"What are you talking about?" Sage Zhao expressed that he was hearing gibberish.
Malin asked Sostak No.3 to explain to Sage Zhao, who, after understanding what steel needles are, showed some interest: "Lord Malin, perhaps we can make some."
"Then I think we should just make armor-piercing grenades, engraving them full of armor-breaking glyphs." Malin said irritably — in Malin’s view, if there’s a choice, don’t use steel needles, unless as an artilleryman you know the vehicle’s internal structure by heart, and hope for a bit of luck.
"That’s a good idea!" Sage Zhao slapped his thigh, saying there are plenty of idle Immortal Masters to employ, and there are also many armor-piercing grenades in the storehouse.
It’s time to get the Immortal Masters busy.
With that said, over the next half day, Malin watched a team of sixth-tier Immortal Masters (equivalent to six-ring Mages in Westland) create three armor-breaking glyph models, considering the lack of discarded chassis to experiment with. Sage Zhao pulled thirty scrapped ironclad ship armor plates from Sage Yu due to quality issues — all over 200 millimeters thick. They then tested the armor penetration capability of different glyphs on these armor plates.
The first model could penetrate one plate, the second model could penetrate two plates, and the third model was quite absurd, penetrating three plates before flying two kilometers and raising a distant mound.
"Keep all three models."
Malin, Sostak No.3, and Sage Zhao said in unison.
Thus, heroes think alike, the first model can be used against any potential light armored unit, the second model will deal with any heavy armored units, and the third model, of course, is for anything that might resemble a Chobbham-style armor.
In other words, if the Chaos Folk really pull out a Venom Blade tank, Malin can only rely on air power to deliver a two-thousand-pound superflying bomb to crack it open, meanwhile hoping a certain GW organization won’t show up knocking in the middle of the night. As for Sage Zhao’s Immortal Masters working a 996 or 007 schedule, that’s Malin’s business no more.
After dealing with Sage Zhao’s matters, Malin attended Bei Luo’s interview meeting for selecting task members — previously, Thainan’s legendary figures had already had a private comparison, from point-limited martial arts to contrasting strengths, and ultimately sixty legendary figures successfully entered the interview.
Bei Luo’s idea was to have Malin use his paternal bloodline sitting beside him to see if these sixty were truly as acute in their sensory perceptions as they claimed — assaulting the factory requires team members with extremely high capabilities, including perceptual skills. The shield-busting tasks anyone can do, but Bei Luo’s concern is these big hulking figures entering the factory might accidentally smash some critical systems if they can’t control their strength.
As for being ambushed — if even lord Malin could be ambushed, then why bother fighting; might as well go home and eat oneself.
So when Malin was seated, he specifically adjusted his appearance, for instance, making himself look like a Domestic Fairy from the Eastern Land, then concealed his aura.
The first one to enter was a Domestic Fairy, reportedly a legendary Immortal Master, famous in his youth, having fought numerous awe-inspiring battles, even tearing apart a chosen champion in a state of full blessing. But he was still ranked sixtieth — after all, he did it with full blessings, and among the giants of legendary, some are strong enough to tear apart Great Demons, lacking his bit of strength.
But this little chap was an Immortal Master, he lowered his head at first glance at Malin: "You are not one of us; who are you?"
He couldn’t sense Malin’s true power, but still instantly recognized that Malin’s appearance was questionable, his sensory perception was indeed sharp.
Thus Malin smiled, retracting some concealment, and this little chap bowed on the spot: "You are also an Immortal Master, a legend, no... a higher level, I salute you."
"Alright, Mr. Late Autumn, you’ve passed the interview. Should we truly require your strength, please definitely join us." Bei Luo smiled, inviting this legendary Immortal Master to leave from the other side of the room.
"The sensory ability of Domestic Fairies is indeed exceptional." Malin re-concealed his power, then squinted as he sat on the chair, watching the second big guy walk in.
He was a Barbarian, with decent strength but never sensed anything amiss with Malin from start to finish. Yet, as he was about to leave, he cautiously inquired about Malin’s identity.
Bei Luo asked why he asked this question, he said his instincts had been warning him all along, but he couldn’t sense anything wrong until he was about to leave; his instincts started screaming as his foot stepped towards Malin.
Malin removed his concealment, the big fellow slapped his forehead: "Does this mean I’m disqualified?"
"You could say that, but your instincts still tried to save you, so if there are any mindless tasks, I’ll think of you first." Malin gave the big guy a date, which he thanked for profusely, and then Malin re-concealed his aura.
"You’re quite merciful." Bei Luo commented while shaking his head and lamenting.
"I just feel, Thainan is great, with fewer national boundaries, everyone united together, collectively saving the world. See, so many legends gathering under one flag." After Malin said this, he closed his mouth, then the soundproof door was pushed open, a young Rabbitfolk Orc entered.
"Miss Ling Zuo Zuo, long time no see." Bei Luo greeted.
"Little Bei Luo, long time no see." The Bunny Girl smiled shyly, bringing the heavy door along, then she looked at Malin.
Malin checked over the Bunny Girl’s records — Ling Zuo Zuo, a legendary Hunter, amusing, isn’t it? But what’s strange about prey becoming hunters, in Malin’s future that child named Nanachi is also an extraordinary legendary Tech Hunter.
However, when Malin raised his head, he saw the Bunny Girl still at the doorway, gripping the door she couldn’t pull inward, her vacant eyes staring at Malin.
The atmosphere was silent, Malin pondered for a bit, then looked at Bei Luo: "What’s with her?"
"Saw you and fainted." Bei Luo replied succinctly.
Malin felt a tinge of sadness.
Alright then, this kid’s intuition is indeed quite high, just a bit too high. After calling medical staff to carry her out, Malin continued his daze.
Three consecutive big guys failed to detect anything wrong with Malin, making him feel extremely down-hearted. Bei Luo ticked off names on his list with a nod: "The fourth guy should be able to spot your issues."
"Oh, who is he?" Malin picked up the report before him: "Cui Yan Hai, Sheepfolk Orc, also an Immortal Master, interesting, are Orcs often becoming Immortal Masters?"
"More among Rabbitfolk and Sheepeople, their physical strength falls short, but surprisingly, possess talent in Spell Formation." Bei Luo said, hitting the call button.
Seemingly delectable... no, adorably cute Sheepfolk girl pushed open the door, first greeted Bei Luo: "Good evening, Mr. Bei Luo."
Then very obediently entered, thoughtfully closing the door.
"Good evening, Miss Yan Hai, this is..." Bei Luo introduced Malin to the Sheep girl.
Malin just witnessed the Sheep girl utter an incomprehensible Sheepfolk battle cry, then she bolted towards the window, jumped out under Bei Luo’s despairing gaze.
After a bout of silence, Malin looked at Bei Luo: "I’m thinking if I should lower my standards."
"Uh, I also think you should, otherwise we might find very few suitable candidates." Bei Luo said, patting his head: "Moreover, Lord Malin, you really look extremely hazardous."
"How would I know." Malin retorted, all the while thinking rapidly about his diet.
Should I stop eating rabbits and sheep?
