Li Xiaofei had already heard the footsteps and sensed who was approaching. He just hadn't expected this little girl to be so bold as to charge in and burrow straight into his bed.

"Little Man, what are you doing?" asked Li Xiaofei.

He didn’t push the girl away, nor did he immediately pull her into his arms. Instead, he propped his head up with his elbow, curiously watching the stunning and alluring girl before him.

She wasn’t a native of Earth. At best, she could be considered an Earth descendant. Her black hair shimmered with a soft glow under the moonlight.

Ji Man nestled into Li Xiaofei’s embrace. She wore only a thin garment, and the supple elasticity of her youthful body pressed against his chest without restraint.

"I’ll be your woman tonight," she whispered, her breath warm against his ear. "Take me to Chongque City, will you?"

"No," said Li Xiaofei, rejecting her outright.

Although Chongque City was a thriving hub where gangs flourished and associations sprang up and collapsed like mushrooms after the rain, its management was extremely strict.

The Inner Division maintained rigorous control over the identity of its residents. If they didn’t have official documentation issued by Heaven, one would be nothing more than an undocumented resident in Chongque City.

Li Xiaofei himself carried secrets that couldn’t see the light of day. There was no way he would bring an underage, undocumented girl into the city and attract unnecessary attention.

"Are you dissatisfied with me?" Ji Man pressed herself closer, whispering, "I’ve never slept with a man before. You’re my first... but I can make you feel good. I’ve secretly learned how."

"Do you think I lack women?" asked Li Xiaofei. He remained indifferent, neither taking the initiative nor rejecting her. "I’ve been with women who are prettier, have higher status than you, are more mature, more skilled, and far smarter than you. Do you really think you have enough to impress me?"

"Heh, you’re lying," said Ji Man, smirking slyly. "You’re just a nobody. How could you have been with so many outstanding women? I’m probably the prettiest and youngest girl you could ever get, so stop pretending."

During the day, she had asked him many questions and observed him closely. Li Xiaofei had admitted with his own mouth that he was just a small figure.

Now, as he looked into this beautiful and intelligent girl’s eyes, he saw ambition burning within them. She was different from the others in Taoyuan. She didn’t belong here. She was filled with curiosity about the outside world.

Li Xiaofei had every reason to believe this wasn’t Ji Man’s first attempt at escaping this secluded little world. Now that an opportunity had arrived, she acted decisively.

Even though she had mocked Li Xiaofei’s appearance more than once during the day, she still crawled into his bed without hesitation when night fell.

"Believe it or not, it doesn’t matter," said Li Xiaofei as he inhaled the natural fragrance of the girl’s hair and chuckled. "Of course, if you want to test out what you’ve secretly learned, I’d be happy to assist and guide you. After all, practical experience is the most valuable."

"You’re agreeing?" asked Ji Man with her eyes lit up.

"No," replied Li Xiaofei firmly.

"You—" Ji Man was left fuming. She could no longer hold back. She jumped out of bed, standing before him in her light clothing, she said, "Tell me, what will it take for you to bring me to Chongque City?"

"You can’t afford the price," replied Li Xiaofei. He had no interest in arguing with this naive girl. He simply let his gaze linger on her alluring figure with an unreadable expression.

"Hmph, I don’t believe that," sneered Ji Man. But then, as if something suddenly occurred to her, she gasped. "Ah! I get it now. You must have feelings for Sister Ah Qing, don’t you? Heh, you want to be with her, right?"

Li Xiaofei couldn’t be bothered to deny it.

"So I was right," said Ji Man, grinning smugly. "In Taoyuan, nine out of ten men like me. As for the one who doesn’t, even if he likes men, he definitely wouldn’t be interested in Ah Qing. Do you know why?"

"Hmm?" Li Xiaofei hummed noncommittally.

Ji Man smirked and continued, "Sister Ah Qing may be pretty, but she’s cold as ice. She never bothers with makeup or dressing up. She always wears the same loose, baggy outfit. There’s not a trace of femininity in her. She only cares about practicing swordsmanship; she even sleeps hugging her sword. What’s so interesting about that?"

Li Xiaofei responded indifferently, "Everyone has their own tastes. There are millions of different women in this world, and each one has someone who likes them. You may be a heartthrob, but I just don’t find you interesting. Ah Qing may be as dull as scrap iron, but I happen to like her. So what?"

Ji Man froze in place. She couldn’t comprehend Li Xiaofei’s way of thinking.

"If you really like Sister Ah Qing, I can help you get together with her," she said, shifting her tone. "As long as you take me to Chongque City, any condition is negotiable."

The girl before him had an unshakable obsession with Chongque City, one that Li Xiaofei couldn’t quite understand.

"I prefer to pursue women on my own," he replied.

"Then you’ll never win over Sister Ah Qing."

"Not necessarily."

"It’s not a maybe. It’s a certainty."

"And why is that?"

"If my chances of helping you get together with Sister Ah Qing are fifty percent, then my chances of ruining your pursuit are one hundred percent. It’s as simple as that."

Li Xiaofei had to admit, Ji Man had a point. After all, destruction was always easier than creation.

"Leave," said Li Xiaofei. He no longer wanted to waste time entangling himself with this troublesome girl. "Tonight never happened."

"Are you sure?" asked Ji Man. The playful smile on her face vanished in an instant.

It was replaced by a faint, yet unmistakable threat. She spoke coldly, "Every man who rejects me pays a price. You won’t be an exception."

"I’ll be waiting, then," he replied. Li Xiaofei lay back on his bed and sneered. "If you weren’t Ah Qing’s close friend, I’d have set the dogs on you just for that little threat of yours. Consider yourself lucky. I'm feeling merciful."

"Just you wait, you damn fatty!" exclaimed Ji Man as she stomped her foot and stormed out.

That night was destined to be anything but peaceful. In the middle of the night, a sudden scream pierced through the darkness just outside the house. Moments later, Ji Man’s panicked cries for help echoed into the distance.

Less than ten minutes later, the sound of chaotic footsteps filled the air. The entire thatched hut was surrounded.

"Get out here!"

"We treated you as a guest, and this is how you repay us?"

"Li Qingchen, come out right now!"

Angry voices roared from all directions. Someone even threw a rock at the door. Li Xiaofei slowly sat up from the bed. He pushed open the door and stepped out.

Outside, hundreds of villagers glared at him with fury. The unmarried young men, in particular, looked as though they were ready to tear him apart on the spot.

"What happened?" Li Xiaofei asked calmly.
