Chapter 78: The Abominor’s Superweapon

Arriving in one of the frontier core systems, Daimon quickly occupied the system in preparation for Abominor superweapon. It was projected to pass through the system before it entered Coalition space which is why Daimon decided to set up in the system.

A few days later, the Abominor fleet number close to 20,000 ships arrived within the system escorting the superweapon. Daimon and his fleet of 15,000 ships waited on the other side of the system.

The Abominor fleet were orbiting protectively around their monstrous centerpiece—the Prime Annihilator. Its enormity eclipsed everything around it, a mechanical titan filled with continent-sized cannons and cities of automated factories that continuously churned out waves of battle droids and battle-slaves, trapped minds forced into servitude by the ruthless AI cortex at its heart.

Standing upon the bridge of his flagship, Daimon watched, his eyes fixed upon the colossal abomination that caused a disturbance in the Force similar to the Star Forge. His fleet held position, awaiting his signal. Silence reigned, as the eerie whispers of the Force wrapped around Daimon, preparing for the immense feat he was about to undertake.

"My Lord," Admiral Caedus voiced, "the enemy fleet approaches attack range. Your orders?"

Daimon raised one hand. "Hold positions and create a defensive perimeter. No ship is to engage until I say so."

Caedus nodded, swiftly relaying orders. Imperial ships quickly rearranged, forming impenetrable lines, shields shimmering into place, weapon systems primed. The Abominor fleet moved forward, rearranging their own formations to combat the Imperial fleet.

Daimon stepped toward the viewport, extending both hands forward. His eyes, glowing white as he stared directly into the heart of the Prime Annihilator. The air around him warped subtly, bending under the weight of the Force energy gathering within him.

Suddenly, an invisible shockwave radiated from his fingertips, surging through space. The Force Drain began subtly, first a delicate touch, threading through the cybernetic minds that operated the Prime Annihilator. One by one, he latched onto their life energies, the enslaved consciousnesses powering the horrific weapon, siphoning away the vitality that bound them.

The massive machine superweapon started to slow, lights dimming sporadically as the enormous AI cortex detected the unnatural phenomenon. Battle droids froze in mid-operation, their internal circuits overloaded by the inexplicable loss of energy. Slave minds, trapped in mechanical shells, felt a profound release as their consciousnesses unraveled from their torturous existence, their life energies flowing toward Daimon.

His eyes grew brighter as he absorbed the large amount of energy that he was taking from all the slaves and droids.

A wave of detonations erupted across the Prime Annihilator’s surface, internal explosions triggered by the failure of vital operating components. Gigantic cannons stopped working, automated factories halted operation, and the entire structure began to drift aimlessly through space, robbed of its operational capabilities.

The Abominor fleet, sensing this through their collective droid network, became confused and started to search for internal breeches or enemies that had snuck onboard without them noticing. This hesitation though had pushed them out for formation and allowed the Imperial fleet to use this confusion that was created to move in.

Daimon lowered his arms as the massive amount of energy settled within him. "Now, Admiral." said Daimon as he released the large amount of energy building up in him towards the Abominor fleet. The wave of energy had temporarily disabled Abominor ships, leaving them drifting in space.

"All forces, open fire!" Caedus ordered.

Instantly, the Imperial fleet moved in, weapons armed and ready. Laser cannons, turbolasers, torpedoes, and devastating ion weaponry tore through the ranks of disoriented Abominor ships, reducing them to flaming debris in mere moments.

Within an hour, the Abominor fleet was obliterated, leaving only scattered wreckage and the massive drifting husk of the Prime Annihilator. Daimon turned toward Admiral Caedus, satisfied with how the battle went. Minimal casualties which is how he liked it. "Secure the weapon. Deploy boarding teams and engineering units to claim it intact. We will take control of this weapon and research its capabilities and how it was made."

"Yes, my Lord," Caedus affirmed, issuing the orders.

The aftermath saw Imperial Marines, Immortals, and Ascendants boarding the Prime Annihilator. They found only emptiness, ghostly quiet where an hour ago hundreds of millions of droids and slaves were present. While the slaves were freed from Abominor control, they had also become collateral damage as they were also drained of all their life force.

Daimon informed the coalition forces that the superweapon was destroyed, but in reality, he secretly moved it into Imperium controlled space. From there, thousands of engineers, scientists, and other specialists were brought onboard to commence their study of the superweapon. This was one of the superweapons of the galaxy that Daimon had no knowledge of because it was not something in the lore of Star Wars. This fact made him realize that he would probably see more of these types of things as the years go by.

For the coalition forces and the rest of the Imperial Navy, they moved into the core of the Abominor controlled space and started their final campaign of the war.

In the weeks following the neutralization of the Prime Annihilator, the Coalition and Imperium forces advanced relentlessly into the heavily fortified heart of the Abominor territories. The shattered remains of countless Abominor vessels drifted silently in space, markers of the fierce confrontations that unfolded daily.

At the vanguard was the fleet of Raelos Vyn, the Imperium’s Warmaster. His flagship, the Voidbringer, spearheaded aggressive assaults against Abominor Worlds, obliterating planetary defenses with overwhelming firepower. His tactics were ruthless and direct, often initiating planetary bombardments that reduced the Abominor’s foundry worlds to molten rubble within hours.

On the planet of Torvalis, an industrialized megaworld encased in massive orbital rings, Raelos’s fleet faced staunch resistance. The Abominor’s adaptive algorithms produced specialized defense drones, swarming Imperial vessels in dense, coordinated waves. For days, the space above Torvalis was filled with chaos, explosions lighting the void as Imperial cruisers and interceptors dueled with relentless droid fighters.

Raelos stood firm, barking orders from the command deck, his Ascendants directing strikes that systematically dismantled enemy formations. Finally, after grueling combat, the orbital defenses fractured, allowing Imperial forces to begin orbital bombardment. A storm of plasma and kinetic rounds rained down upon Torvalis, silencing its foundries forever.

Simultaneously, Darek Thalor’s fleet brought a different approach to the assault on the world of Kaelron. Darek, guided by compassion and mastery of healing, emphasized rapid ground invasions aimed at rescuing organic slaves. His flagship, the Salvation, led a formation designed for precision strikes. Imperial Marines and medics flooded onto the surface, enduring relentless fire from Abominor forces entrenched around slave-processing facilities.

Amid heavy enemy fire, Darek himself walked calmly onto the battlefield, his Force powers creating barriers of protection around his advancing troops. Under his guidance, the wounded were healed in real-time, limbs regenerated in moments, inspiring fearless charges. Within hours, Kaelron’s surface was secured, hundreds of thousands of former slaves evacuated for rehabilitation.

Meanwhile, Malis Kaevor systematically dismantled Abominor resistance on the icy fortress-world of Dravion. As his troops advanced, doctrinal centers and temples rose swiftly behind them, disseminating Imperium teachings among the liberated populace. Inquisitors uncovered Abominor code repositories, disabling the enemy’s adaptive learning cores and crippling their predictive combat abilities.

The liberation became a religious crusade, former slaves willingly pledging allegiance to the Imperium’s doctrine, driven by zeal instilled by Malis and his disciples. Dravion soon transformed into a fervently loyal bastion, reinforcing Imperium influence deep within Abominor space.

Syra Veyra’s fleet, known for its justice-driven campaigns, launched decisive surgical strikes on command nodes scattered across the Abominor Core. Her Ascendants executed precise boarding actions, disabling enemy dreadnoughts from within. On the massive space station Nexus Prime, her team infiltrated the station’s core, dismantling its AI nexus in a commando raid. The resulting internal failures cascaded through Abominor communications networks, creating systemic chaos that allowed coalition forces to push deeper.

The Coalition fleets, under Supreme Commander Marrek’s guidance, capitalized on these victories, driving their combined forces forward. On the volcanic world of Ignarion, Coalition and Imperium soldiers battled side-by-side amid rivers of molten rock, dismantling enemy installations while dodging deadly automated defense turrets. King Zal’Torak’s warriors fought ferociously, their rugged ships providing close-range fire support to infantry below.

At the same time, Technarch Nysar deployed specialized cyberwarfare vessels that targeted Abominor control nodes, disabling enemy formations mid-combat. High Oracle Seraphine and her Force-sensitive battlemages disrupted enemy coordination through powerful Force rituals, allowing ground troops to make critical windows for advancement.

This brutal campaign lasted for six months until the campaign was coming to it’s end. The last battle amidst the campaign was about to begin on the Abominor’s capital world, Velon-3, a planet sized siege engine covered in dense orbital defenses. Daimon would personally lead both Imperial and Coalition forces against the Abominor. However, the battle would not be easy as the Abominor had prepared for this moment. On the surface, they had Billions of Droids and a little over 200 million slaves. The Abominor had learned their lesson from the loss of their superweapon and had come up with various ways to counter the use of the Force on their Capital planet.

It was unfortunate for them that they had only discovered this technology at the end of the war as they might have been able to use it to halt some of the Imperium’s advancements and last a little longer.

But it didn’t matter how many droids, slaves, or new technology that they had. This was the last battle, and the Imperium planned to go all out.
