Chapter 92: Apologies everywhere

Chapter 92: Apologies everywhere

Fei Chuan sighed in relief when Bei Sangyun was intercepted by her butler at the school gates.

She had been unusually friendly and overly enthusiastic about building a "good" relationship with him, which Fei Chuan found highly suspicious. Well, everything she did was suspicious to him, but today’s Bei Sangyun was scarier than ever.

Usually, Bei Sangyun wore either a cold, aloof, or an arrogant expression. But this morning, she kept that unusual smile on her face which he found scary.

Despite his cold demeanor and mocking remarks, she still smiled. In response to his mocking words, she would just patiently keep quiet and start another topic.

This was the first time he had seen Bei Sangyun exercise patience!

It unnerved him. What did she want now?

Fei Chuan glanced back at them before heading inside the school.

Bei Sangyun’s smiling facade had vanished, replaced by a serious atmosphere. She and her butler must be discussing something important.

Could it be related to why Bei Sangyun appeared injured at his door?

Fei Chuan couldn’t help but think about the bruise on her neck and her injured hand.

Bei Sangyun had mentioned running away from home, so it must be a family problem.

As someone who was familiar with Bei Sangyun’s past, he could guess the root of the issue. Being an illegitimate child was a taboo and a significant problem in high society. She must be having a hard time in that family.

Fei Chuan sighed and shook his head. He needed to stop dwelling on it; it had nothing to do with him.

He went to the locker area and out of habit, opened his locker cautiously, standing a meter away from his locker.

Today, there was no garbage or death threats inside, just a dozen unmarked letters. Fortunately, his locker didn’t look like it had been forcefully opened.

Fei Chuan took the letters and noticed they didn’t have the sender’s name. He did not want to open such suspicious letters, so he decided to dispose of them in the trash. As he was getting rid of them, he noticed several students gathering in front of him.

Fei Chuan became alert; these individuals were all too familiar. They were the students who had kidnapped him and cornered him previously, the ones who had nearly broken his leg.

Just as he was thinking of ways to escape, the students unexpectedly bowed their heads in unison and shouted, "Boss Fei Chuan, we beg you, please accept our apology!"

Their voices reverberated through the hallway, drawing curious onlookers from the locker area.

Fei Chuan remained silent, his expression darkening.

"Boss, we genuinely understand the gravity of our mistakes. We deeply regret our actions and have spent time reflecting on them. Please find it in your heart to forgive us, boss!"

"Please forgive us!" They repeated.

Yet Fei Chuan offered no response.

From initial shock, his expression turned to fury.

They bow their heads and apologize, do they think they could be easily forgiven if they did that?

He suffered many days under their torment. They humiliated him and never gave him peace. Just thinking about the days he had endured, Fei Chuan could not forgive them. They scarred him not only physically, but also mentally.

Whenever he was surrounded by many students, his first reaction was to look for an escape. That’s how traumatic his experience was with these people.

Without a word, Fei Chuan silently left.

The students continued to bow, unaware of his departure. As their backs and necks grew stiff, they eventually raised their heads.

Fei Chuan had long since vanished.

The leader of the bullies muttered under his breath, "Damn. That bastard just left."

"...Boss. You should call him boss," His lackey reminded him. If the tyrant learned that they disrespect their new boss, they might get punished.

The leader cursed out loud, "We only call him boss when he is around but when he is gone, he is still that loser, get that inside your mind, you f*cker!"

The lackey shut up and nodded hesitantly.

.....

As Fei Chuan arrived on his floor, yet another group of students approached him.

"We are the ones who poured vinegar into your locker. We deeply regret our actions. Please accept our apologies!"

Fei Chuan’s expression remained unchanged as he walked past them, ignoring their pleas.

"He’s gone. He completely ignored us."

"What should we do? We’ve apologized, but it seems he didn’t accept it. How do we explain this to the boss?"

The students exchanged worried glances.

Fei Chuan had already vanished into his room, leaving them reluctant to pursue him further.

"I’m afraid we’ll have to postpone Grandma Bei’s surgery," Butler Xin stated as soon as he saw Bei Sangyun.

The preparations for the surgery, including finding the best doctor in the field and securing a hospital overseas, had already been made. However, yesterday’s incident had affected their plans.

"Your father no longer trusts you and is becoming increasingly cautious about your actions. He’s now actively searching for Grandma Bei in an attempt to keep you under control. If we send her overseas right now, your father might take notice."

A dark cloud passed over Bei Sangyun’s face. "That man is crossing the line."

"Master, I understand your frustration. But you can’t afford to act recklessly now. I barely managed to keep your father’s people from discovering Grandma Bei’s location. If you provoke him further, he might channel all his resources into finding Grandma Bei just to control you."

Sighing in frustration, Bei Sangyun replied, "I know. I’m aware of what kind of man he is. I won’t be reckless, at least until Grandma Bei’s surgery is successful."

Butler Xin: "...."

So you will get more reckless in the future after Grandma Bei’s surgery?

Butler Xin could imagine the stress that was about to come on his way.

"Let’s wait for the arrival of the guests. That should divert Lin Ginxian’s attention," Bei Sangyun suggested.

She really had no choice now but to babysit those two troublemakers again.

Butler Xin agreed with the plan. "So, when do you plan to return home?"

"That isn’t my home," Bei Sangyun replied nonchalantly.

Butler Xin sighed and asked again, "When are you going to return to the Lin mansion? You may have upset the old man, but he hasn’t imposed any punishment on you, unlike the fourth branch. It seems he’s not truly angry with you. You haven’t fallen out of his favor."

"I still have unfinished business here. I’ll return when the host selection process begins," Bei Sangyun explained.

She needed confirmation for her theories, and her life depended on it.

"By the way, I saw the second young master’s butler leaving the school earlier. Are they supporting the fourth branch?" Butler Xin wondered aloud.

Bei Sangyun paused. Lin Fei?

That scoundrel has never supported Lin Sanju in the past. He never liked anyone in the Lin family, except for tormenting her. Bei Sangyun thought bitterly.

"No, I think I know why he was here," she said, her expression darkening.

After a brief conversation with Butler Xin, Bei Sangyun headed to her locker. Her guess was quickly confirmed.
