Chapter 86: Kill Herself
Chapter 86: Kill Herself
Butler Yang turned to Lin Ginxian and the fourth branch, who were still kneeling stiffly on the ground. "The Headmaster has given his orders; please leave the room."
The fourth branch slowly stood up and bowed to the old man before leaving the room. They felt anxious and conflicted. They weren’t sure if they had been saved or not, but one thing was clear: Bei Sangyun and the third branch had certainly angered the old man. They had clearly fallen out of favor with him today.
As they left, Lin Ginxian clenched his fist and gave Bei Sangyun a deathly glare.
Bei Sangyun was the last to leave the room, and she took a final glance at the old man who refused to meet their eyes.
"The Lin family is already crumbling. It’s only a matter of time before it’s completely uprooted. It’s too late to start acting kindly and forming familial relationships."
Old Master Lin raised his head and glared darkly at her, "What do you know? You’re just a child who hasn’t experienced the world. Be thankful you’re my granddaughter. If someone else had spoken those words to me, they would’ve been thrown out, and it wouldn’t be to a good place."
Bei Sangyun wasn’t afraid of his threats, "Try me. Anyway, I believe you won’t do that because, as you said, I’m your granddaughter. If you truly want to change this Lin family, start with that person. Lin Sunji has wronged him, and so have I. The person who deserves an apology is him, and he should be the one to decide the punishment. Not me. Not you."
"Let a stranger fix this family? Is that what you’re suggesting?"
"No. What I’m saying is that you can start righting your wrongs by doing one thing right. I have no right to lecture you about this because I’ve done many wrong things too. But please consider my suggestion."
Old Master Lin looked at Bei Sangyun with a mix of confusion and surprise. This child spoke as if she had lived a lifetime. He was too tired to argue with her, and there was no use in getting angry at a child.
He was upset because her words were true. His sons were at odds with each other, tearing the family apart for the sake of wealth, and the younger generation had learned these dirty methods from their parents.
Reality was painful.
Bei Sangyun didn’t linger and left the room. She knew she had struck a chord with the old man. He would come around if he followed her advice. But if he remained stubborn and prideful, history might repeat itself.
The fate of the Lin family rested in her hands. She had done uprooting it once, and she didn’t mind doing it again.
.....
As Bei Sangyun arrived in her wing, Butler Xin appeared in the hallway. He looked exhausted.
"Master, your father has summoned you. He is worse than last time. So please, watch what you say for your own sake."
Bei Sangyun expressionlessly walked to Lin Ginxian’s study room.
As soon as she entered the room, a vase was thrown a few centimeters away from her. It crashed into the wall, and the broken vases flew everywhere. One of them scratched Bei Sangyun’s cheek.
A trickle of blood fell.
Bei Sangyun calmly wiped the blood from her cheek. This familiar scenario triggered some unpleasant memories. She did not want to remember any of them, so she ruthlessly pushed them back into the deepest part of her mind.
"What are you thinking?! Do you really want to return to that damn village so badly?! I’ll tell you what, I’ll kill you before you can leave this place!" Lin Ginxian was enraged.
It was a perfect opportunity to strike down the fourth branch, but this brat ruined it all. Not only was she unsatisfied with disappointing the old man, but she also offended him.
Now the old man was blaming this wretched daughter’s offense on him! Just thinking about the shame and embarrassment he felt when his father yelled at him, Lin Ginxian was itching to kill Bei Sangyun with his own hands.
"Kill me?" Bei Sangyun looked coldly at him, "Why don’t you do it now then?"
She picked a broken piece of the vase from the ground. She held the broken piece tightly, causing her palm to tear.
Her eyes were emotionless as if she did not feel any pain from her wound. Blood trickled on the ground.
"You would rather kill me than let me leave. This is not my first time hearing those words."
She pointed the sharp edge of the bloody broken shred to her own neck, "If you can’t do it on your own, I can help you. Just say the words, then I will stab this on my neck."
Lin Ginxian looked at Bei Sangyun, alarmed and horrified. The blood that appeared on the ground and her solemn eyes were not a bluff.
For a moment, he had a thought that this girl might really kill herself here.
"...Are you insane? Did you become crazy after getting this far?"
"Am I sane? Look at me. Do you think I am sane?" Bei Sangyun threw the question back at him. "I have become crazy a long time ago." Bei Sangyun put some force into her hand, her neck started to bleed.
"What are you doing? Stop!"
But Bei Sangyun did not stop. She stared coldly at him as she continued to push the broken shred onto her neck.
Lin Ginxian was horrified. If this girl died in this room- in front of him, her death would surely be blamed on him!
"Butler Xin, come in and stop her!"
The door suddenly opened. Butler Xin was horrified at the blood on Bei Sangyun.
He approached her hesitantly, "Mas- Young miss...please put it down."
Bei Sangyun was still staring into Lin Ginxian’s eyes, "See? You can’t kill me. So don’t dare stop me from leaving this place."
She threw the broken piece on the ground and left Lin Ginxian’s study room.
