Chapter 148: I Follow the Boss!

[Although I am scared of the tyrant because of her tyranical ways, I still admire her because she always got the top rank and was the best in everything. But to threathen someone’s life because for her amusement and she was not even sorry changed my whole idea about her. We shouldn’t tolerate someone like her.]

[Isn’t this not shocking anymore? I am more shocked that the tyrant lied! She is actually just a bastard child!]

[I can’t believe it. The tyrant might be overwhelming but the aura around her is truly like a noble. She doesn’t seem like a person from low origin!]

[Watch the video again if you are still doubting. The tyrant admitted it personally.]

[Some of the people I know in Class 3-1A doesn’t want to speak about it but they did not deny the post. So this is real.]

The students’ opinions varied. Some expressed disgust, calling out Bei Sangyun’s tyranny. Others doubted the post, unable to believe that the tyrant they looked up to had such a background.

However, aside from the anonymous group inciting the crowd against Bei Sangyun, no one dared to post negative comments on the tyrant. They only expressed their doubts and shock.

.....

A group of people were gathering in a desolate hallway. The atmosphere was gloomy and tense.

The leader of Bei Sangyun’s group of lackeys was holding his phone tightly as he read the comments.

"Is the boss really a bastard child?" One of the lackeys expressed his doubts.

"Didn’t you hear what the boss said? She practically admitted it in front of everyone!" The person beside him answered with frustration.

"...Then what do we do now? We offended many people for the boss. Because we always thought the boss had the backing of the Lin family. Now that the boss is not exactly what we thought she is, our future will be doomed."

Smack!

The leader of the group suddenly smacked the speaker’s head.

"Do you want to die? If you run your mouth like that, I won’t help you if the boss catches you speaking ill of her. Because you deserve it."

The speaker held his aching head, "But leader! I am only thinking about our well-being! Didn’t we choose to side with the boss because we want a good life in the future? But what if all those things are false? What if she is unfavored, and we suffered because of her?"

The leader’s face darkened. He passed his phone to the other lackey and started massaging his knuckles. "If you have so little faith in our boss, then you better leave this group. You want to ride on Boss’ tail to live a good life? Then you should be willing to accompany our boss through the highs and lows. Now I understand why the boss doesn’t seem to fully trust us. Because we have idiots like you in our midst."

The speaker shuddered at the cold look on the leader’s face. The leader was copying Bei Sangyun’s calm yet chilling eyes. And being the recipient of such a look for the longest time, the leader gained the talent for imitating it.

"....I-I am just c-concerned about our well-being. Even if we stand by our boss’s side, now that this news is out, it’s only a matter of time before the whole school realizes the truth and turns their backs on our boss. Without the boss’s perfect background, she will be targeted. And so, us."

The leader became angrier at the speaker’s response. "Be targeted? Our boss has never been the prey! She is always the hunter! Everyone, keep your head cool! Do you think the boss is the kind of person who will let others bully her? I believe that the boss will turn this situation around. I chose to follow her and become her lackey! And I am sure I won’t regret this decision!"

The leader made a passionate speech that moved the other lackeys. To be honest, even they were starting to doubt if continuing to follow Bei Sangyun was the right choice. What if they were betting their stakes on a sinking ship?

But with the leader’s wake-up call, they gained confidence again.

Right. With their boss’s personality, she wouldn’t settle for less. So what if she was an illegitimate child who was unfavored in the Lin family? They believed that with her ability, she would surely lead the people in their generation to success and into a future that everyone would be envious of.

"I am with you, leader! We should not be swayed because of this malicious post!"

"Right. I believe the boss won’t disappoint us. She will become a great leading figure in the future!"

The atmosphere in the group turned lively. It was no longer shadowed with a gloomy atmosphere.

"The boss is not updated with the post. I’ll report this to her. I also have to tell her that we are on her side!" The leader patted his chest with conviction.

The others cheered him on and urged him to go to Bei Sangyun.

The oversized windows offered a panoramic view of the city skyline. The city lights and the traffic below could be seen with just a lowering of the head.

Bathed in warm, golden hues, the interior exuded opulence with plush leather seating, intricate chandeliers, and marble-topped tables.

A group of youths was seated on plush leather couches. Their table was the only one not empty.

"I did not expect you to give me such a sincere welcome. But there’s really no need to reserve the whole place for our meeting. I don’t mean to trouble you," Richard said helplessly. But although he sighed, there was appreciation in his eyes.

Fei Ling laughed as he took the hint in Richard’s eyes. Looking at this seemingly gentle man, Fei Ling could sense that this gentleman facade hid such a crazy bastard. He was somewhat the same as him.

"How can I not give you a proper welcome? I am happy you sought my acquaintance and reached out to me."

The said acquaintance felt happy at the attention he was receiving. He interjected, "Young Master Fei, my friend Richard treated my brother to a meal so he could meet you through us. I bet Richard has come here to make friends with you."

Fei Luo smiled, "Friends? Richard, you are more than qualified to be my friend."

Richard smiled as well and showered Fei Luo with praises so smoothly that Fei Luo was starting to like him.

Richard’s eyes flashed and he said in passing, "Ah, right. I have some beef with your brother, Fei Chuan. If there is news that reaches you and says we had a fight, I hope you don’t blame me."

Fei Luo suddenly laughed. "I will not blame you, my friend. I am happy that you put that bastard in his place. You see, in my family, that bastard is not welcome."

Richard raised his brow as if it was his first time hearing it. "Really? Then you won’t mind me sharing some things with you, right?"

Fei Luo’s eyes lit up. He could read between the lines. As expected, Richard was just like him!

"I don’t mind. We have plenty of time to talk about it."
