Fei Chuan entered the old gym room, the key Bei Sangyun had given him still in his possession. As he placed his laptop on the bench, a thought crossed his mind—should he reach out to Bei Sangyun?
The possibility of her arriving only to find him gone, and that irritating guy possibly occupying his seat, lingered in Fei Chuan’s thoughts.
He fished out his phone but hesitated. The realization struck him that he didn’t have Bei Sangyun’s contact number. Despite having her old phone, Fei Chuan hadn’t bothered to learn her current number, assuming there would be no future need for contact.
Fei Chuan let out an exasperated sigh and exited the gym. Surely, her lackey would have her number, right?
...
Bei Sangyun glanced at her phone, realizing its battery had died after hours of use. Fortunately, she had already delegated tasks and now had nothing left to do but wait.
Checking the time on her wristwatch, she found it was well past lunchtime. Fei Chuan must be waiting for her at the cafeteria.
Heading back to the senior building, a pair of arms suddenly rested on her shoulders. Bei Sangyun frowned, ready to push the person away, but the owner of that arm spoke, "Where have you been?"
Turning around, Bei Sangyun saw Fei Chuan. The latter let her go. He was sweating on his forehead despite the cold weather and was breathing heavily as if he had run a marathon.
"Why aren’t you answering your phone?" He looked irritated.
Confused, Bei Sangyun showed him her phone. "I was on a call, and it just died from low battery. Is there something urgent?"
Fei Chuan wiped the sweat from his forehead. "...You said you would meet me at the cafeteria."
"Yeah, I was on my way to meet you. Have you already eaten without me?"
Fei Chuan cast a vexed gaze in her way. "Is that all that’s in your head?"
Bei Sangyun: "?"
Fei Chuan appeared to be in a bad mood. Had something happened?
"I haven’t eaten yet. Let’s grab something outside," Fei Chuan suggested.
Bei Sangyun’s eyes lit up. Fei Chuan had taken the initiative to invite her to eat. What a rare opportunity! She wouldn’t let this pass!
Bei Sangyun happily agreed as she teased Fei Chuan, "Tired of cafeteria food already?"
"...Yeah," Fei Chuan absentmindedly answered.
Richard stuck himself with them in the last row. The man was obviously following him and Bei Sangyun around. Just the sight of that man’s fake gentle smile irritated Fei Chuan.
Bei Sangyun must have skipped the entire morning class to avoid him.
Might as well avoid that douchebag together. And who knows if that bastard might say something to Bei Sangyun- like how Richard provoked him earlier.
Bei Sangyun might not just throw soup at Richard—hell would break loose, and another gossip about Bei Sangyun’s cruel ways might erupt again.
After they entered the car, Fei Chuan called the leader of the bullies from Class 3-5 and instructed him to place his laptop in his locker.
Bei Sangyun listened. After the call ended, she could not help but comment, "I thought you’re not going to use them?"
"They’ve been pestering me with letters and apologies, thanks to a certain someone. I will make use of them, but it doesn’t mean I forgive them."
Bei Sangyun smiled, "It is better to use them early as now, so you can use them for a long time."
"Why do you think I will use them for a long time?" Fei Chuan asked with a raised brow.
He didn’t strike as someone who would use people. Everyone thought of him as a coward and timid man, but Bei Sangyun seemed to have a certain idea about him. She always portrayed him as someone domineering who held deep grudges.
"Just have a feeling," Bei Sangyun shrugged. She couldn’t say that she knew him well because they had been archenemies in their past life, right?
"Anyway, I am craving seafood today. Let’s have some prawns," Bei Sangyun excitedly said. She had forgotten what prawns tasted like.
.....
As the two were enjoying lunch elsewhere, a new post in the forum garnered a lot of attention.
[The trash of the Fei family cursing the foreign exchange student!]
This scandalous title stirred excitement among the students. The post included a video, shot from two to three tables away from Fei Chuan and Richard. The ambient noise made it difficult to hear their conversation clearly.
From the video, it was apparent that Richard approached the solitary target with a friendly smile, initiating a conversation amicably. The target, however, coldly ignored him. When Richard leaned in, seemingly to tell a joke, the target abruptly stood up and exchanged a few words. When the target left, Richard’s expression reflected hurt and disappointment.
Many students who witnessed the incident provided context in the comments. Those near Fei Chuan and Richard’s table shared the snippets of conversation they heard.
[Richard approached him with the intention to accompany him at lunch. He only had good intentions. But the target rejected him coldly! Who does he think he is? Does he think he is some mighty prince?]
[Richard is very friendly. He is so nice to befriend the outcast.]
[The target was being too arrogant because the tyrant has his back.]
[Am I the only one concerned that the target cursed at Richard? I clearly heard him say ’douchebag.’]
[I heard that too! I was shocked because Richard is just being too nice, but Fei Chuan cursed at his face. That’s really bad!]
[He is already trash. And his personality is trash too.]
[He must be thinking that as someone from the Fei family, he doesn’t need anyone to be his friend. Hell, I don’t even want to be his friend! Nor to be in the same school as him!]
[Fei Chuan is so arrogant. What rights does he have to look down on Richard? He is the douchebag!]
The subsequent comments were filled with curses towards Fei Chuan. Then, someone who had once talked to Fei Chuan commented, claiming that Fei Chuan had a terrible attitude.
