It was two days later, that Fei Chuan finally showed up at school.

When Bei Sangyun entered the classroom, her first instinct was to glance at Fei Chuan’s seat. Her steps paused upon seeing that the once-empty chair was now occupied.

Over the past two days, Bei Sangyun had contemplated whether to visit the Fei family personally.

However, her rational side warned her that if she- a member of the Lin family- were to visit Fei Chuan, this might lead to some unintended consequences. Her presence might burden him, and there was no guarantee that the other party would welcome her visit.

So, Bei Sangyun had to rely on the spy’s reports about Fei Chuan’s current situation. So far, after the Fourth Madame’s visit, no further incidents had occurred. The seventh young master’s residence within the Fei mansion remained peaceful and without any troubles.

Bei Sangyun had no choice but to wait for Fei Chuan’s grounding to be lifted. Unfortunately, the spy had no information on when that would happen. So she waited for him at school, hoping that he would return before her schedule became occupied due to the upcoming visitors.

Bei Sangyun spotted Fei Chuan, her previously dull expression suddenly brightened. Without hesitation, she took the empty seat beside him.

Fei Chuan noticed her presence but remained still, pretending to be engrossed in his phone.

"Can we talk?" Bei Sangyun asked.

Fei Chuan finally raised his head and looked at her. "Didn’t you move away?"

"What?" She didn’t quite catch his meaning.

"Didn’t you go back to where your ’friends’ are sitting?" The word ’friend’ was clearly emphasized by Fei Chuan.

Bei Sangyun paused, contemplating his question.

Was he referring to the day when Fei Chuan got angry with her on the rooftop?

She glanced back at the row where her followers were seated. They were closely following their exchange. When Bei Sangyun looked their way, they quickly averted their gaze, except for one particularly enthusiastic lackey who gave her an encouraging fist-pump.

Bei Sangyun’s eyebrow jumped. She redirected her attention to Fei Chuan. "I moved away at the time because you seemed upset with me."

A flicker of surprise crossed Fei Chuan’s eyes. "You moved because you thought I was upset?"

"That’s what I said."

"Since when do you care about other people’s feelings?"

"I don’t care about other people’s feelings. But I do care about yours," Bei Sangyun replied candidly.

The classroom suddenly fell silent.

Fei Chuan’s eyelids twitched. He hadn’t expected such an answer from Bei Sangyun. Was this another part of her games?

He better not be swayed by her again.

He clenched his fist. "Since we’re talking now, let’s talk. But after this, I hope you’ll return to your seat with your friends."

"I can’t do that. I’ve decided to sit beside you," Bei Sangyun replied.

After the incident on the rooftop, Bei Sangyun had pondered her actions.

She was still new to making friends and was unsure if she had done the right thing. She thought that keeping her distance would help Fei Chuan cool off, with the intention of approaching him later. Her plan was to let his anger subside before explaining herself.

However, time waits for no one.

Look at what had happened. Before she could figure out how to mend her relationship with Fei Chuan and grow closer to him, her chances had been taken away because he was grounded.

She had tried to be patient, but patience wasn’t her strong suit. It felt too limiting and exhausting.

So, she concluded that she shouldn’t have distanced herself. She should have been straightforward.

If he refused to listen or give her an opportunity to make things right, she would pull him by the neck, making him listen and forcing her way in until he understood.

"And are you sure you really want to talk here? The entire class might seem preoccupied with their own matters, but they’re all secretly listening," Bei Sangyun added.

The whole class, who were pretending to be busy, couldn’t help but eavesdrop. When they heard Bei Sangyun’s words, they panicked inside.

Fei Chuan met her gaze and contemplated for a moment. Then, he stood up. "Fine. Just make sure not to waste my time."

The breeze was growing colder as winter approached. On the rooftop, Fei Chuan patiently waited for Bei Sangyun to speak.

Bei Sangyun kept her hands in her pockets, trying to conceal the awkwardness she felt. She had never imagined that one day she would find herself tip-toeing around Fei Chuan.

She struggled to find the right words to start their conversation. It was much harder than she had anticipated. It had been a long time since she had felt this anxious talking to someone.

How could it be that the great Bei Sangyun, who had never been afraid of anyone and was always bold in her actions, was now afraid of making a mistake?

"If you’re not going to talk, I’ll be leaving," Fei Chuan said, his expression growing darker. She had brought him here to talk, and her silence was making him question her intentions.

He could not help but doubt if he was being played again.

Hastily, Bei Sangyun blocked his path and asked, "Why did you sign it?"

Fei Chuan’s steps paused, and he met her gaze, instantly understanding what she was referring to.

So she came to talk to him because of that matter, huh. As expected, she would look for him once she learned about it. Well, it was not surprising that she would be concerned about this since it was related to the Lin family.

Fei Chuan lowered his eyes to hide his disappointment.

"I signed it because I could."

"But there’s no way you’ll forgive them, no matter how big the compensation was. Did they threaten you?"

Fei Chuan scoffed, "You talk as if you know me well. For your information, people can be forgiven when they apologize. Not everyone uses threats."

"That might apply to some people, but not you. You won’t easily forgive people even if they use threats." Bei Sangyun interjected, "I know because that’s something we have in common."

"Really? I do apologize when I know it’s my mistake. And I give people a chance, unlike you."

Bei Sangyun frowned. Why Fei Chuan seemed to be stressing about it?
