Stand By Me Darling -
Chapter 425: Getting Closer
Chapter 425: Getting Closer
"Fred... Don’t blame grandpa for what Ralph did to me, alright?"
Talia said in a soft voice and Arthur rubbed her back agreeing to her. He was mad for a while, but after realising that knowing the reason wouldn’t have changed a thing, he calmed down.
There is no sure way to say that Ralph would have believed all the evidences Jerome Brunton has to prove that Ralph is not a Brunton.
A lot of things went wrong that led to her kidnapping. The simpler solution to the problem of keeping her safe would have been to ask her to stay in her safety bubble.
But it can’t be done! She is a working Royal and she needs to travel.
And in Basmia, Talia exposing the corruption of the Ministers became a hindrance in her search for her.
And... she can’t be blamed for that either. She can’t be asked to shut up and she can’t be advised not to care about the corruptions elsewhere.
She can’t be silenced!
Plus he has to agree, Ralph was smart and very resourceful. But he was caught with little damages.
Little damages..? We lost our child though...
Arthur took in a deep breath and kissed her head. He is glad she is here with him and he’d be thankful for that. Everything else is secondary.
The journalist he offended did publish an article about how his search for truth led him to make a powerful enemy and an unwarranted verbal assault involving his mother. As expected, he was the victim in his story.
But the public didn’t see it that way. Many activists spoke words in support of Talia praising her for her strength in the face of struggle. They blamed the media machine’s unnecessary focus on the Princess’ privacy than focusing on what the Princess advocates for. They all interacted with the social media posts from Talia’s official account and brought awareness to her causes.
The public opposition to the article was so great, the editor of the magazine had to delete the article with a front-page apology. The journalist who wrote the article also "resigned" citing personal reasons.
Arthur saw the influence Talia has. None of these were arranged by the Royal PR, but her fans and followers took it upon themselves to bring change.
Yes, she went through a trauma and yes, they suffered a loss even she doesn’t know of. But through this ordeal, he found the power she has. She already was powerful by being part of two of the most influential families in the world.
But she has multiplied that power, by being honest and working hard.
It made his heart feel pleasant. The more influence she has, the prouder he felt.
My Iris is amazing!
"Iris..." he held her hand and saw her wearing the ring again. Whenever they are alone, she’d be wearing it, and around cameras, she is still not willing to announce their engagement.
She did take away his privilege of proposing to her and he didn’t care about it anymore. Surprisingly, one day changed a lot of things between them and at the same time it didn’t change one important thing – their love.
That day has strengthened their love more.
He interlocked his fingers with hers. "Iris, about you wanting four children..."
"Yes?"
Talia got a lot excited and sat up straight and looked at him with her eyes wide. Her hands clutched his sleeves tightly as she looked at him expectantly.
Arthur’s lips curved to a gentle smile seeing those eyes glittering with curiosity. "As long as you’re healthy and able to, we can have as many kids as you want."
"Really?" Talia jumped up from the seat. "You’ll provide me with your seed as much as I want?"
Her voice naturally got higher out of excitement. But then her face went red hearing Mr. Ed coughing from the other side of the hedge. She wanted to disappear after letting others hear her very explicit words.
"Yes, I will. I, Arthur Frederick Boswell Sinclair, the seed provider-"
Arthur proudly proclaimed but Talia closed his mouth with both of her hands to stop the shameless guy from speaking further.
"Shut up, dummy," she rested her head on his shoulder hugging his neck as he was still seated.
"Why? Aren’t I, your seed provider?" he wrapped his hand around her waist.
"Shut up!" she placed a little kiss on the small of his neck.
Arthur felt his abdomen tightening and pulled her closer and sat her on his lap. He knew now is not the time for him to get excited and he has to wait till she heals entirely. Both her mind and body need healing.
Talia could see the fire in his eyes and feel the hardness on her thighs. She placed a little kiss on his cheek. She in a way felt bad for not able to be with him as she wanted.
"I’ll help you with my hands later," she whispered in his ear in a low voice and she watched his eyes brightening up as she caressed his cheek.
There is this one thing this guy cannot refuse... But she loved this part of him as much as the part of him that takes care of her.
"You don’t have to force yourself to-"
Talia bent and pressed her lips on Arthur’s lips. She left his lips for a moment before kissing his upper lip and slowly nibbled on his lower lips.
"Why would I force myself to help the man I love?"
Arthur looked at those clear bluish-purple crystalline eyes staring right at his. He could see no reservations in her eyes, just like before when she’d offer him the same.
"I’ll be expecting then," his beautiful green orbs glimmered as they got trained on her.
"I hope that I won’t disappoint," she leaned closer to his lips. As usual, his lips had the intoxication quality in them that she never can get over.
"Darling, you never will," he pressed his lips on hers as his hands grazed her back.
Soon they found their tongues tangled together as they hugged each other and made out expressing the love they held in their heart for the other.
Arthur thought it would take a lot of time for her to get closer to him, but he was indeed surprised by the speed she recovered. He could conclude that she is getting stronger day by day and she will only become far more greater in the future.
And seeing how Ralph is getting treated and knowing the truth would have given her relief so that she can be free of her anxiety caused by her trauma.
