Chapter 24: Out of Script
Chapter 24: Out of Script
The tan-skinned woman approached. Casca—a woman Arthur couldn’t even recall ever reading about in the NovelFire that this world was supposedly based on.
"How was your quest? Did you finish slaughtering the orcs?" Casca asked sweetly, her voice soft and gentle. Arthur shivered a little.
’Damn, no one would believe this woman threatened to accuse me of sexual harassment yesterday.’ He let out a sigh, then explained, "No, I didn’t kill any orcs at all. We were ambushed." Arthur tilted his body slightly, revealing the unique party he had formed just this morning.
Vayne and Lisha introduced themselves. Lisha gently spoke her name with a slight bow. "I’m Lisha, a Priestess... nice to meet you, young lady," she said gracefully.
Bloop... 0_o
Bounchiechomie and Arthur froze, staring in disbelief.
This was the same woman who had gotten overly excited when her butt was about to get spanked, who even talked about how her back hole still functioned the same as a pussy because it could still make men climax—and now she was acting like some gentle, motherly saint?
"Ahaha... I’m Vayne." Vayne broke the stunned silence between Arthur and his slime. "Miss, are you Arthur’s lover?" he asked in a half-joking tone.
"Ah... no, I’m just renting a room in my house to him." Casca replied with a slight smile.
"Aha..." A light laugh echoed. "AAHAHAHAHAHA...!"
Levain burst into loud laughter, instantly turning the mood awkward.
"I knew it. Ahem..." He cleared his throat and strutted proudly toward Casca. "A young lady like you would never lower yourself to be with a filthy F-rank commoner..." he declared confidently.
Ahem... Levain cleared his throat again. "Oops... pardon me, miss. I’m Levain. Son of nobility. A man of honor with the character to match," he continued smugly.
Arthur sighed, trying to ignore Levain’s usual cringe behavior. He turned to Casca and began explaining.
"Basically, it was a setup. There’s no such thing as an Orc Purge. Just a scam to kidnap rookie parties and steal their IDs."
Vayne nodded, face expressionless. "We almost died from poison. Now we’re heading to the guild to demand clarification."
Casca raised one eyebrow slightly. "Hmm... I see."
Then she smiled—softly, but it made Arthur shiver all over again.
"Well then, I’ll come along, okay?" she said cheerfully, starting to walk ahead of them.
She glanced back at Arthur, her eyes just a bit too friendly.
"Don’t run away, okay... ehe~"
Arthur immediately stopped in his tracks.
His slime froze, too.
Bloop.
"Ah... shit, why’d it have to be her," Arthur muttered under his breath.
Vayne nudged his shoulder. "Relax. We already survived a fake orc ambush. What’s one woman gonna do to us? If something’s bothering you, just tell your big bro."
Arthur glanced sideways at him.
"Big bro?"
Levain only scoffed. "Commoners denying they’re a couple while clearly flirting? Disgusting. Full of sin. Utterly revolting..."
After a short walk, they finally arrived at the entrance of the Adventurer Guild. The atmosphere inside... was strange. Not noisy in the usual way. There was no laughter. No drunk adventurers.Just tension.Low murmurs. Sharp stares. The sound of heavy boots on marble floors. The clinking of weapons—so heavy they echoed just from slight movement.
Dozens of adventurers. Most of them... weren’t rookies.Their faces were full of scars.Their presence... like war veterans who had just returned from battle but weren’t done killing yet. There was no trace of "MC aura-farming vibes" here. They all radiated killing intent.
Arthur immediately felt like he had stepped into the wrong place."...This place is intense," he muttered quietly.
Bloop.Even Bounchiechomie seemed to deflate a bit.He trembled slightly—his jiggling soft, as if holding his breath.
Casca walked casually beside Arthur like it was just another Tuesday. Her smile only grew wider, as if she was enjoying the pressure in the air.
Meanwhile, Vayne narrowed his eyes, scanning the room.
"This isn’t normal," he said in a low voice. "Something’s wrong. These people didn’t gather here by chance."
Arthur nodded. "Could it be... because of our fake quest?"
Before Vayne could answer—
"VAYNE?!"
A sharp female voice cut through the room.A woman in red leather armor waved at them from across the hall, a bow slung casually over one shoulder.
Vayne let out a long sigh."An old friend..." he muttered with the tone of here comes trouble.
The woman approached, followed by a tall man in a black robe."You’re still alive, huh? After that brilliant ’let’s solo a wyvern’ idea, I thought you were dragon poop by now," she teased.
Vayne forced a polite smile. "Unfortunately, fate still isn’t tired of me."
"Lisha!"Another voice called out.
This time, it came from a silver-haired woman with glasses and a massive sword on her back.Lisha’s eyes widened. "Clarisse...?"
In a flash, Lisha was pulled into a tight hug by the woman—who somehow had even bigger boobs than her.
Arthur stood frozen."...Why do all priestesses come with divine blessings and... double plot armor..."
Then—
DUARRR!!
A loud bang echoed.Not magic.Not a monster.
But the heavy main metal door slamming shut with brute force.
Everyone turned.Instant silence.
A woman walked to the center of the room.Tall. Broad shoulders.Wearing faded black battle armor with metallic details down her arms and chest. Her face was serious. On her back—an enormous hammer, nearly as tall as she was.
Her steps were heavy. Each stomp echoed.
When she reached the center, she looked at everyone.
"Silence."
One word. That was all it took.
The room went completely still.Even the sound of breathing seemed to disappear.
The woman spoke in a deep, commanding voice:
"Some of you may already know me. But for the newer adventurers here..."
She stood straighter and tapped the base of her hammer against the floor.
DUMM.
"My name is Raven Van Thor."
Arthur swallowed hard. His eyes locked onto that massive hammer. That woman’s face...That murderous aura...
"Shit... The Just City Event? Now?"
