Vayne lifted his chin.

His body was still trembling from the wounds—but his lips curved into a smile.

"...Agreed," he said quietly. "Yeah, men should be brave, isn’t it?"

He glanced at Lisha, as if mocking the young man behind them.

Lisha nodded.

Her eyes were sharp—but filled with respect.

"Don’t die, dumbass."

Behind them, Levain scoffed.

"You’re all insane. That guy’s power is nothing! He’s F-rank! F-RANK!"

Arthur didn’t turn.

He simply replied, calm and low:

"Shut up. And watch."

His steps were steady.

A faint smile tugged at Arthur’s lips.

Remembering that cold, robotic voice in his head.

[SSS-Rank Shadow Slap: Recommended]

[SSS-Rank Shadow Slap: Ready to use]

[SSS-Rank Shadow Slap]

The highest-tier slap technique imbued with the attribute of darkness.

Created to eject a target from local reality without causing permanent physical damage.

This attack severs the connection between body, soul, and world in a single strike.

Immediate effects include: loss of spatial orientation, mana blackout, and soul dissonance.

Its destructive force is more dimensional than physical.

Only activates with an open palm. Cannot be used as a fist.

Arthur raised his right hand.

Black smoke began swirling from his wrist—thick, cold, forming the shape of a monster’s claw.

The aura changed the air around them instantly.

Lisha narrowed her eyes.

"...Is that... Black Mana?"

Levain took half a step back.

"Don’t tell me... this F-rank idiot is working with them?!"

"He’s not," Vayne said quickly. "That’s not—"

Suddenly, from beneath the ground—

Three black, jagged spikes shot up.

ZRAKK—!!

They pierced all three of them in an instant.

Vayne collapsed.

Lisha let out a muffled scream.

Levain clutched the wound with trembling hands.

Arthur?

Unharmed.

Thanks to Bounchiechomie—

Who, with some freakish reflex, slapped Arthur’s head sideways—

Just enough to knock him off balance.

Arthur landed on his knees.

Eyes wide.

Oro laughed.

The sound was soft, but echoed like a whisper from a cursed well.

"Hmm? That hand... filled with darkness? You are one of us, right?"

Arthur stood slowly.

"...No."

He clenched his fist.

"Black smoke? Claws? An SSS-rank skill? Time to test it out."

He took a step forward.

And suddenly—

The smoke vanished.

His hand returned to normal.

Plain. Empty.

"...Huh?"

He clenched his fist again. No response.

Arthur hissed.

"Tch... Dammit. It’s Shadow Slap, not Shadow Punch."

Slowly, he opened his hand again.

Whoosh.

The black smoke returned—rising from his palm.

That monstrous hand—alive, twitching, like its own sentient creature.

Lisha was swaying now.

Her face pale.

"...We’ve been... poisoned... Our mana... it’s draining..."

Vayne tried to stand. Failed.

"Arthur... hurry..."

Levain gritted his teeth and activated his skill:

[Gold Plate – Full Body Reinforce]

A golden layer coated his body. But it wavered—failing to fully turn him into a golden statue again.

The poison still seeped through.

"Damn it, I can’t neutralize this dark power... it’s too strong,"

Lisha gritted her teeth, feeling the creeping pain crawling up her thighs—almost reaching that untouched slit, sacred and not yet blessed by any meat missile.

She shut her eyes.

’It’s useless if I keep trying to purify this filthy power.’

Cold sweat drenched her forehead.

She glanced at Arthur—still standing tall.

Her lips moved, barely a whisper.

"Prodigia... co..."

A thread of divine light spiraled around Arthur’s body—then vanished, absorbed into him.

Her lips stopped moving.

Then she looked at him again.

"Use it well... that’s my best buff," she whispered.

Arthur nodded—now standing alone.

The only one left able to move.

His body surged with strength, warm and rising—

All thanks to the buxom, slightly freaky priestess.

The warm power of the busty, beautiful, slightly freaky priestess—Began to flow through Arthur’s blood.

Then, that voice returned inside his head.Flat. Calm. Emotionless.

[ Buff active: Prodigia Co. ][ Body and soul synchronization: +34% ][ Mental overload threshold: Increased ][ Time remaining: 26 seconds ]

Arthur exhaled. ’The buff duration’s too short,’ he thought. His mind and body felt fused now.No delay. No noise.

He stepped forward. His slime companion began hopping, cheering him on.Even his first step made the air tremble slightly.

Mentulā stopped moving. Its tentacles hung in the air—like antennas that had lost signal.

Oro narrowed his eyes, staring at Arthur’s hand still shrouded in thick black smoke."...You think you’re different?"His voice was heavy, but filled with curiosity."That energy... it speaks the same language as ours."

Arthur didn’t respond. He only looked down.Stared at his open palm.

The smoke danced like it was breathing.

Then he began to run.

One step. Two steps.Silent. Weightless. As if the ground was just a stage prop—and his slap was the opening act of a slapstick opera.

"AAARGHH—!!"He shouted, charging forward.

Not out of rage. But because, finally, he had a reason to slap someone—after being tormented yesterday by Casca’s constant nonsense.

His right hand swung back.Palm wide open. The smoke went wild. The air around him howled—like reality itself didn’t know how to react.

Mentulā responded.Three tentacles lashed out—front, right, and above.

Arthur didn’t dodge. He kept going. His body didn’t resist the impact—it flowed through it.Like he no longer belonged to this world.

The slap landed.

PLAQQ—!!

There was no crash. No spray of blood.Only—

Silence.

Then...

A crack.

The air around Mentulā fractured, like glass breaking from the inside.Time slowed.Then—BRANGGG.

The explosion didn’t come from a body.It came from the space itself. As if its very existence had been hurled away.

Mentulā was flung back—its body glitching midair, no longer touching the ground.

Arthur dropped to his knees. His hand still open. The smoke now calmer—like it was praying.

"...One down," he whispered.

Oro stepped back. For the first time... no smile on his face.

Lisha, half-conscious, opened her eyes."What kind of power... is that?"

Arthur didn’t hear her. He was focused. He stared at his palm again.

It didn’t fully feel like his.

Then... the voice came back.

[ Shadow Slap used. Cooldown: 60 seconds. ][ Warning: Residual corruption detected. Monitoring mental integrity. ]

Arthur blinked.

Corruption?

His fingers trembled slightly.

A strange voice—his own, but darker—whispered softly:

"You liked that, didn’t you? It felt good, didn’t it? Let’s torment that low-level darkness..."

Arthur shook his head."Shut up."

He stood again.

Oro remained frozen."...Are you... human? Dark power isn’t meant to be used... against its own kind..."

Oro lectured Arthur, convinced his power was the same Dark Energy he wielded.

From a distance, Vayne watched what Arthur had done—Something clicked in his memory."I... I know him... now I remember who he is..."
