SSS-Class MILFs And Their Yandere Daughters, I Want Them All! -
Chapter 49: The Cost Of Protecting Their Smiles
Chapter 49: The Cost Of Protecting Their Smiles
The room fell silent.
Charlotte stared in her mother direction, her throat tight, unable to say a word. Even Mika, who prided himself on his composure, felt his lips quiver as memories from the past flashed through his mind.
The warmth of their home. The laughter. The fights. The love.
The day he left...and the pain he saw in their eyes as he walked out the door.
And now, standing here, hearing Yelena’s broken yet loving words...he couldn’t help but feel the sharp pang of guilt.
Back then...
He remembered why he had run away.
It wasn’t because he hated them. It wasn’t because he didn’t care. It was because he cared too much.
He was terrified, terrified of the feelings growing inside him.
Feelings that went beyond what a son should feel for his mothers. Feelings that consumed him so completely, he thought they would destroy everything if he let them fester any longer.
He had been too scared to confront them, too weak to face the possibility that he might ruin the delicate, precious bond they all shared.
...So he ran.
He left without giving them any real answer, knowing deep down how much it would hurt them. He told himself it was for the best, that this way, at least their family wouldn’t be broken by his selfishness.
But now...
’What’s my excuse?’
He clenched his fist as his hand trembled on the doorknob.
Hadn’t he already resolved himself? Hadn’t he promised to change his weak-minded ways? To stop running, to face everything head-on?
He had told himself he would make every single one of them his, that he would build a family where no one would ever feel left out or unloved.
But now, here he was again.
Running.
His fingers tightened on the doorknob, his knuckles pale.
’Why? Why am I still trying to escape?’
And then it hit him.
It hit him like a wrecking ball to the chest.
He was still scared...It was so obvious now, with the way his hands were shaking uncontrollably.
Scared that if he went through with his plan...if he tried and failed...he’d shatter their family beyond repair.
He was terrified of them looking at him differently. Of them not loving him the same way anymore.
To Mika, family was everything. More important than his own life.
The thought of being the cause, the reason why their family broke apart into pieces, hurt so much that it felt like his heart was being torn in two.
But as he looked at Yelena’s face, the sorrow, the longing in her eyes, he realized something.
Running wasn’t fixing anything.
It wasn’t just making things worse for him...it was making things worse for all of them. For every single one of them who was aching right now.
The only way to heal the pain, to fix what was broken, was to confront it. To face it head-on, no matter how terrifying it was.
It might be scary. It might be impossible. But hadn’t he already told himself he wouldn’t have regrets when his time finally came?
He had resolved himself once before.
And to back down now...that wasn’t what a man would do.
No, that wasn’t what a boy they had raised would do.
And with, his resolve finally solidified.
As Yelena watched Mika standing silently, she felt her own chest tighten.
She thought her words hadn’t reached him. That she had failed to convince him.
Her lips quivered as she turned away, unable to bear looking at him any longer. If she stayed, she feared she would cry, and she didn’t want her precious boy to see her like that.
But then,
Clink.
The flower swords surrounding her fell gently to the ground like petals in the wind.
Charlotte blinked in surprise as the twintails binding her sight fell loose, allowing her to see again.
Both mother and daughter turned to Mika in shock and found him standing there blushing faintly, scratching the back of his neck.
"I...I actually wanted to just go home, cook up a nice meal, and pass out in bed. Especially after a long day like today, going to bed early would be the best thing ever."
He said hesitantly, his voice soft but carrying an awkward, innocent charm.
"But after hearing all that...there’s no way I could do something so heartless. I’d be the most unfilial son in the entire world if I just walked out now."
Charlotte’s eyes widened, her mouth parting in surprise, while Yelena gulped at what she was hearing, barely breathing.
Mika’s blush deepened as he glanced at Yelena.
"You really are amazing at guilt-tripping me, you know that?" He muttered, trying to sound annoyed but failing to hide the fondness in his tone. "That’s a mother for you. Only mothers have this scary ability to hit you right in the heart."
He sighed, rubbing his forehead as though trying to calm his racing thoughts.
"Even though I’ve faced demons, armies, and things I can’t even describe...I can’t face your heartbroken face like that. It’s...it’s unfair."
Finally, his gaze softened.
"That’s why I’ll come with you. If that’s what you really want, I’ll come. And—"
He was about to say something else, but before he could finish,
"Ow, ow, ow! What the hell?!"
Mika yelped in pain as all of a sudden Yelena had suddenly strode forward and grabbed his ear, tugging on it hard enough to make him bend over in pain.
"W-What are you doing?!" He cried out, flailing his arms.
Yelena’s stern, fiery gaze locked onto him as she scolded him like a child, completely different from the sorrowful one she just had a moment ago
"How dare you make me say all those embarrassing, sappy things!?!" She snapped, her cheeks flushed with emotion. "As a good boy, you should have just come with me when I asked! But noooo, you had to make me spill my heart out and admit I cry in my sleep, how dare you, Mika?!"
"I-I didn’t ask you to, owww! Stop pulling so hard!" Mika whined, tears forming in the corners of his eyes from the pain.
"And to think..." Yelena continued fiercely. "You made me say all that, and yet you were going to walk out on me again?!"
Before Mika could respond, she suddenly yanked him forward and wrapped her arms tightly around him.
"Thank God...Thank God..." Yelena murmured, her voice trembling as she buried her face in his shoulder. "Thank God you’re coming with us, Mika!"
Mika stiffened in surprise but slowly relaxed as he felt her relief pouring into him.
"I was so scared." Yelena whispered. "So scared I was going to lose my baby boy again. But now...now you’re coming home."
Her arms tightened around him as if she’d never let go.
"You have no idea...how happy that makes me."
Mika felt his own eyes sting as he lifted his arms and awkwardly patted her back, his voice breaking as he whispered.
"Yeah, I’m home, Yelena...You’re Mika is finally coming back home."
The words hung in the air, fragile yet warm, and for a moment everything felt still.
But that calm didn’t last.
Charlotte, who had been holding back her emotions this entire time, could no longer restrain herself. With an excited squeal, she dashed forward and wrapped her arms tightly around Mika’s back, almost knocking the air out of him.
"He’s finally coming home! He’s coming home after so long!" She cried, burying her face against him. "Oh my god, I’ve been waiting for this day forever! You have no idea how many times I dreamed about dragging you back."
Mika’s brows twitched slightly at her words, but Charlotte didn’t even notice. Her voice grew more animated as she started rambling, her words tumbling out like a waterfall.
"When you get there, I’m gonna make you help me bake cookies like before. And we’re going to binge that show you used to hate but secretly loved...And you’re going to sit with me all day while I braid your hair again, don’t even think about resisting!"
She said, holding him tighter like he might vanish again.
Then, with a sudden gleam in her eyes, she looked up at him mischievously.
"But you know...more than all of that...I’m so looking forward to showing off to everyone that you’re staying in my house. Especially to them..."
Mika’s blood ran cold.
"Charlotte." He said cautiously. "Who’s ’them’...?"
She let out a evil grin.
"You know exactly who. Those four. When they find out you’re under my roof, ohhh...their faces will be priceless. I can already see it, their rage, their suffering. It’ll be glorious!"
"I just want to sit back and sip tea while they scream about how unfair it is. That alone will make this entire thing worth it."
"No!" Mika yelped, his face going pale as he twisted around to look at her. "No, don’t do that! Don’t even think about doing that, Charlotte! This isn’t a game! If they find out I’m at your place, I swear there’ll be an all-out war. They’ll storm your house in seconds and drag me out by my hair!"
Yelena, still hugging Mika from the front, nodded gravely.
"He’s right, Charlotte." She said in her calm but firm tone. "This isn’t something we can afford to let slip. Especially not to your aunts."
"Not even to them?" Charlotte asked with a innocent look on her face.
"Yes..." Yelena’s expression darkened slightly. "If you told them, your aunts would descend on our home like hawks."
"I can handle your sisters if they come, they’re reckless but manageable. But if your aunts hear about this, even I wouldn’t be able to hold them back. And if I clash with your aunts...the damage could level an entire city block."
"City block?! Are you serious, Mama?!" Charlotte asked in disbelief and wonder.
"Correction." Yelena’s tone was deadly serious. "The entire area within 100 kilometers will become a crater. And I refuse to clean up that mess. So Charlotte..." Her eyes narrowed at her daughter. "Keep this...quiet."
Charlotte straightened up like a soldier, her expression suddenly serious. "Yes, ma’am. I swear on my life, this matter will stay classified."
"Good girl..."
Yelena said approvingly, while Charlotte nodded her head and made sure in her mind not to tell anyone or else those thieving sisters of hers would surely snatch her Mika away like the looming vultures they were and she’d be able to do nothing about it, as even with her devestating SSS-class blessing she was the weakest among them all...
