Chapter 938: Chapter 943 Stinks to Death
The terrified driver, threatened by Yang Yi with a gun, had already gone weak in the legs when Kate finally yanked open the car door and dragged the driver out.
Yang Yi slipped into the car, tossed the knife into the storage compartment on the door, and then slammed the door shut and floored the accelerator.
How had Kate gotten there first, and where was Justin?
Yang Yi turned his head and noticed Justin holding a bottle of red wine in one hand and a wine glass in the other as he ran out. Just as he stepped out of the restaurant, Justin tilted his head back and downed a glass of red wine.
Drinking red wine while fleeing for your life?
Fine, take the bottle, drink the wine, but why drink from a 6-ounce wine glass?
Yang Yi immediately became infuriated.
Xiao Ran slapped the wine glass out of Justin’s hand with a sharp motion, then shoved Justin hard. Justin stumbled forward, nearly falling, but Kate opened the rear car door and pushed Justin into the car before climbing in herself.
Xiao Ran turned and fired two shots, forcing the enemies who had reached the hotel lobby to retreat. Yang Yi switched the gun to his left hand and fired casually toward the hotel to prevent the enemy from rushing out.
Xiao Ran made a beeline for the driver’s door and then dove through the window.
Xiao Ran landed on Yang Yi’s arm, her long hair fluttering past Yang Yi’s nose as she climbed forward, leaving just her legs resting on his arm.
It smelled lovely.
It was the scent, Xiao Ran’s scent was truly delightful.
Yang Yi took a deep breath, purely on instinct, then though Xiao Ran’s legs were still pressing down on his arm, he was able to turn the steering wheel.
He stomped on the gas, and the car surged forward.
This was a Fiat PUNTO, a small, compact hatchback. Xiao Ran’s head was now pressing against the passenger door, and her legs were still outside the window.
Yang Yi drove the car out, but he couldn’t change gears because the car had a manual transmission, and the gear shift was blocked by Xiao Ran.
Xiao Ran flipped over, causing Yang Yi’s hand on the steering wheel to move too, and the car sideswiped a parked vehicle on the side of the road, screeching sharply as it sped away.
Yang Yi straightened the direction, and as Xiao Ran pulled in her legs and turned around, she promptly kicked the windshield and then sat up.
"Lean back."
Yang Yi quickly pressed his head against the seat, but Xiao Ran wasn’t speaking to him; she was talking to Kate.
Xiao Ran aimed the gun at the back window and fired two shots, then urgently exclaimed, "Drive off!"
Yang Yi shifted into third gear; the engine, not very powerful but sufficient, roared as it sped up to 70 kilometers per hour.
They couldn’t see their pursuers for the moment, but Yang Yi immediately noticed a car appearing ahead.
The enemy had walkie-talkies and had already blocked off a large area. It was normal for them to arrive quickly to intercept after learning Yang Yi and the others had changed streets.
And hostile intent was evident at a glance.
The first car they spotted charged straight at Yang Yi, followed by another vehicle. Both cars nearly blocked the narrow lane completely.
Yang Yi glanced in the rear-view mirror.
The street behind them stretched long.
No stopping, no turning around. He merely glanced forward before continuing to accelerate.
"Don’t hit them! Don’t hit them! You can’t get through!"
Justin screamed in terror.
Kate, annoyed, slapped Justin on the head and yelled, "Shut up!"
Justin replied bitterly, "That’s a Land Rover! Our small car can’t compete! Fuck!"
Justin stopped talking and suddenly lifted the bottle of wine, starting to gulp it down. But he drank too hastily and the car was unsteady, so red wine started spilling from his mouth, then he sprayed it directly, covering Xiao Ran, who was sitting in front of him.
"Ah..."
Justin closed his eyes and began to scream.
With less than thirty meters left, as the two cars sped toward each other, the distance quickly closed, but Yang Yi had already arrived.
Yang Yi slammed on the brakes and turned sharply, his car’s rear only brushed by the oncoming Land Rover before he steered it onto the sidewalk through a gap between parked cars.
The right headlight shattered instantly, yet Yang Yi still completed the turn.
Honking madly, he drove past two pedestrians who looked shocked, then Yang Yi glanced left.
A Alfa Romeo passed by Yang Yi, separated by a row of cars.
Through the gaps between the cars, the driver of the Alfa Romeo looked bewildered as he glimpsed Yang Yi flitting past.
"Eat shit!"
Yang Yi, filled with confidence, yelled as he steered again, moving from the sidewalk back onto the roadway and immediately turning right onto a larger highway.
Braking, shifting, steering, he skimmed close past a few pedestrians crossing the zebra lines, causing them to scream, then the already-downshifted car roared again and sped up rapidly.
Justin opened his eyes, seemingly unable to believe what he saw, quickly turned his head to look back, then exclaimed loudly, "No crash, how did you do it?"
Who had time to bother with Justin?
Kate anxiously looked behind, Justin shivered, then he exclaimed again, "It’s just a Punto, it’s just a Punto!"
Kate turned around, angry, "Can you shut up and throw your wine away?"
"Oh no, I’m dying of thirst."
Justin immediately picked up the wine and gulped down another big mouthful, then he coughed again, choked by Yang Yi’s sudden maneuver.
"Can’t you let me drink peacefully?"
Still unsatisfied, Justin held the bottle of wine when Xiao Ran suddenly turned, leaned on the car seat, and just glared at Justin without speaking.
Justin, holding the wine bottle, exchanged a glance with Xiao Ran, then guiltily lowered his head and muttered, "I’m really dying of thirst..."
"Make a call for backup, tell them our location, and ask them to come and meet us. Any cars catching up?"
Kate exclaimed loudly, "None!"
Xiao Ran straightened up, took out her phone, dialed quickly, then spoke urgently, "Where are you? We’ve found Justin, but many are chasing us."
After hanging up, Xiao Ran addressed Yang Yi urgently, "They’re not far; they’ll find a proper route to meet us and draw the enemy’s attention."
Yang Yi, without turning back, said, "With Justin looking like a ghost, how do we hide him? Think of something quick!"
Kate, disgusted, covered her nose, and said to Justin, "You really stink!"
Justin stank, but upon hearing Kate, he shrank his head, almost vomiting.
"Don’t speak! No more!"
Putting his hand in front of his face, Justin struggled and said, "Stop talking, I’m going to throw up!"
Kate, extremely frustrated, said, "Take off your clothes, throw them out, quickly!"
