Spy-x-War Showdown
Chapter 881 - 886: I am Not a Spy

Chapter 881: Chapter 886: I am Not a Spy

The Organization of Water had made no mistakes, but their enemies had surrounded them.

Many things in this world don’t succeed simply because no mistakes were made. The Organization of Water hadn’t erred, but neither had their enemies.

Nicholas’s men gave Yang Yi no time to react, going from asking Steve a few simple questions to deciding to leave, all within less than ten minutes, but the enemies had already arrived.

The speed of the enemy’s arrival was astonishing. If Nicholas had formed this team on the spur of the moment after learning of Deyo’s death, it would have been impossible for them to surround Yang Yi so quickly.

The only explanation was Steve’s words, that it wasn’t just Big Ivan or Yang Yi who wanted Deyo dead, but Nicholas as well.

Moreover, Nicholas had likely planned this in advance; it was possible that Steve was actually Nicholas’s spy.

It was simple to find out how the enemy located them; the easiest method was tracking Steve’s mobile phone, or perhaps Steve had something else on him for tracking. By now, Anton had made Steve change clothes, and he hadn’t found anything suspicious. Considering the area that the enemies had cordoned off, it could be determined that they had used the mobile phone to locate them.

Brian’s failure to dispose of Steve’s phone was a mistake, but the phone held valuable information, and the contacts it contained were crucial, so it couldn’t be said that Brian had erred. It was only that the Organization of Water hadn’t anticipated that Steve and Nicholas were in cahoots, and deeply at that.

But now none of that mattered; what was important was breaking out of the encirclement.

There were many enemies, but they had to disperse their forces to encircle them. However, no matter the direction they chose to break out from, the number of enemies they faced was always great.

Also, if these were the men Nicholas prepared to eliminate Deyo, then they wouldn’t be incompetent.

But what else could be done? Yang Yi couldn’t possibly hand over Steve again.

To break out, someone needed to lead the charge.

Yang Yi looked at Zhang Yong, who picked up his rifle and, with a face of resignation, said, "We’ll head the charge. Old Ghost and Owl along with Anna will cover, and follow behind the boss. Once we’re out, call in Hans and Holy Water for support. There’s still a good chance if we do it this way, so let’s arrange it like this."

Yang Yi wanted to add something. He grasped Steve with one hand and his pistol with the other, whispering to Zhang Yong, "Brother Yong, be careful!"

Zhang Yong’s face wore a self-deprecating wry smile. "No choice, being at war is our job, and this is how we live, brothers. If you have anything to say, say it quick!"

The assault team, of course, led the charge; if anyone were to die, it would be them first. Judging from the situation, it seemed likely that the assault team members might indeed lose their lives, and the Organization of Water’s assault team consisted of just four men...

Sergei took a deep breath, then said to Yang Yi, "Boss, you’ve been fair to me, and I’ll be the same to you!"

Roman stared at Yang Yi, "Boss, the money you’ve given me is enough to buy my life. Now, I entrust my life to you. If I die, please make sure my family gets the money."

Yang Yi nodded.

Vitali opened his mouth, then with a resigned smile, said, "Same for me."

After finishing, Vitali turned to Zhang Yong and said, "Let’s go!"

Yang Yi’s voice trembled, "Brother Yong, and all of you... be careful!"

Zhang Yong nodded, took several deep breaths, pulled his face mask down, and shouted, "Charge!"

Brian, standing at the door, swung it open; Zhang Yong charged out first, followed closely by Vitali, then Roman and Sergei.

Now was not the time for talking, just charging.

Four members of the assault team burst out, followed by Anton after a brief pause, then Brian, then Annastasia, and finally Yang Yi, pulling Steve along.

As Yang Yi charged forward while dragging Steve, he shouted in Steve’s ear, "If you slow me down, I’ll blow your head off!"

Steve’s face paled, as he realized his greatest fear, a situation of no return, had finally come to pass.

Smart people assess the situation, and right now the situation was that Yang Yi, even in death, would drag Steve with him.

Let Steve go? Impossible, absolutely impossible.

To triumph would mean soaring to the skies, to fail... death is as natural as the birds flying overhead. Since it was time to go all out, they might as well go big.

The nearest enemy was over forty meters away; they noticed the situation here and when Zhang Yong and his group charged out in a wedge formation, the enemy fired first.

The main blockade was at the intersection, to the left front of Yang Yi’s group, where the closest enemy was about twenty meters away, and another twenty or so were on their right rear, about a hundred meters away.

The enemy surely had weapons, but since it was daytime and there were pedestrians, it wasn’t feasible for the enemy to take out all their weapons and openly wander the streets with guns before they found Steve’s exact location; the police would definitely arrive first.

Who fired first was crucial, as Zhang Yong and his men knocked down at least a dozen enemies at the first encounter.

Not all enemies were standing on the road; some were in cars, ready to move only after spotting their target, and their positions were also scattered, making it unrealistic to eliminate all blocking enemies instantly.

Yang Yi held his gun, but he had not fired a single shot because he constantly aimed at Steve.

Killing Steve didn’t require a gun, but Yang Yi still needed to hold one, as pointing it at Steve’s head was more intimidating.

A forty-meter distance was too close; if all the enemies couldn’t be resolved immediately, their counterattack was inevitable.

The first to be shot was Vitali, but the bullet hit his bulletproof vest, and after staggering, Vitali kept running and shot dead an enemy hiding behind a car, almost face to face.

The second one shot was Roman,

Roman was the machine gunner, and his firepower suppression was crucial, but holding and firing the machine gun slowed him down, so he was shot twice.

Enemies were also behind him; Roman was shot in the chest and back.

Roman fell to the ground and then directed his machine gun at the enemies behind him, immediately opening fire.

Zhang Yong was shot, but his actions barely paused.

Only Sergei, he fell hard to the ground, as he was shot in the thigh, and as he fell and continued to shoot, another bullet hit his shoulder.

Every time Anton fired, an enemy would fall, and so did Brian; they were already mixing in with the enemies.

Paul, driving a car with the door wide open, rushed over, and his shooting from behind the enemy was critical.

The enemy was not weak, but the surprise attack was extremely effective, and the enemies blocking in front of the Organization of Water collapsed at the assault.

But the enemies behind did not hold back, and after the initial chaos had passed, the gunfire from behind intensified.

Zhang Yong roared, "Cover!"

Yang Yi quickly dragged Steve past Zhang Yong.

Zhang Yong took two steps forward and knelt on one knee behind a car to start shooting.

Yang Yi and Vitali brushed past each other.

Vitali raised his gun to fire.

Vitali went down.

Vitali’s gun fell to the side.

Yang Yi dragged Steve up to the car door, shoved him in, and also jumped into the car, and right after him, Anton slammed the car door shut and roared, "Go!"

Paul drove off, and Anton picked up a rifle from the ground and roared, "Cover!"

Brian took cover behind the car, firing several shots at the enemy, then yelled at Anna Stakina on his side, "Go!"

Anna Stakina tucked away her gun and bent down to run back, then Brian roared again, "Cover! Assault team, retreat!"

Roman, firing from the ground, rolled twice to the side, then while changing his magazine behind a car, roared, "My leg is broken, you guys retreat."

Zhang Yong suddenly ducked his head, then roared, "Sniper!"

After yelling, Zhang Yong changed the magazine of his rifle, then grabbed the rocket launcher behind him and roared, "Fuck off, I’m not a spy! Cover me!"
