Yang Yi followed Jethro into Corkdor’s stronghold. People brought by Corkdor were not numerous but definitely among Deyo’s more elite forces, and now, Corkdor’s guards all looked very tense.

However, the tension among Corkdor’s bodyguards was not due to Jethro’s arrival, this much was clear; their nervousness likely stemmed from the identity of the guest inside.

If one had to meet someone at three in the morning, and if Corkdor wasn’t lying, then he truly was seeing an important visitor.

No one stopped Jethro, someone even opened the door to the living room for him, and when Yang Yi and the others followed Jethro inside, no one tried to block their entry.

There were four people in the living room, with Corkdor seated in the center. Beside him was a woman, and across from Corkdor sat two others, though they looked like attendants. Therefore, the visitor was that woman.

Yang Yi sized up the woman, about forty, with brown hair in a bob cut, black-framed glasses, dressed in a dark blue business suit, and black flat leather shoes on her feet.

Her clothes and appearance did not reveal much about the woman, but her eyes were sharp, her lips thin, and she maintained a smile that didn’t give off a mean impression.

Upon seeing Jethro’s entrance, Corkdor stood up, followed swiftly by the woman.

Corkdor shook hands with Jethro first, then pointing to the woman beside him, he said, "This is Ms. L."

The woman extended her hand to Jethro with a smile, saying, "Hello, CIA, L."

Her speech was concise and clear. Jethro shook hands with L and nodded, saying, "Pleased to meet you."

After the woman stood up, Yang Yi noticed her waist was slightly thick, and during the handshake with Jethro, L’s skin on the back of her hand seemed very delicate.

Yang Yi, of course, had no thoughts of chasing women at such a time.

From Ms. L’s slightly deformed figure and somewhat plump waist, it was evident she was not someone who consistently worked out, and her delicate skin suggested she didn’t often engage in combat.

No matter the style of combat, one absolutely had to condition their hands through use, thus by inference, Ms. L was likely someone who spent a lot of time in an office setting.

Corkdor gestured for them to sit, and at that moment, Jethro waved his hand at Yang Yi and the others, saying, "Wait for me outside."

Letting Jethro bring his bodyguards inside was to show Jethro there was no danger in the room, but after Jethro’s arrival, it wouldn’t do to keep his bodyguards there indefinitely.

At the command, Yang Yi and the others left the living room and closed the door behind them.

Someone summoned Yang Yi and his group to wait in an adjacent room. Then, no longer paying them any attention, once they were left alone, Yang Yi whispered to Boyata, "The boss doesn’t seem in any danger here, but we can’t all stay put. If anything unexpected happens, we would be wiped out in one fell swoop. Take two men and wait in the car. We can’t go in, but being outside ensures we have the capacity to respond."

After hesitating a moment, Boyata whispered back, "No, you go. I’m of no use outside. It’s better for me to stay and wait for the boss."

After pondering for a while, Yang Yi nodded and said, "Alright, I’ll leave Sergei and Roman with you; I’ll take Rodriguez out. Remember, if anything seems out of place, notify me immediately."

After giving Boyata a couple of instructions, Yang Yi quickly left with Rodriguez, and Corkdor’s people did not stop them.

Yang Yi was in a hurry to leave because he was anxious to hear what Jethro had said.

Yang Yi rushed back to the car, where Chris, with a headset on, was engrossed in listening. Seeing Yang Yi get in the car, Chris immediately passed one earpiece to Yang Yi, saying softly, "It’s a CIA person, Ms. L."

"I heard that part," Yang Yi replied.

Chris said urgently, "L just arrived today, nothing significant has been said yet."

After a brief exchange, Yang Yi put on the earpiece and started listening to what Jethro and the others were discussing.

"I’ve come here to mitigate the impact of the last operation. Gentlemen, we can’t afford any more mistakes this time. But I’m desperately lacking intelligence on Big Ivan, which is why I came here straight after landing."

Ms. L was the speaker, and though Yang Yi only heard part of it, he already understood the implications of her words.

Ms. L was very efficient with her words, and from the statement about being here to rectify the impact of the last mission, it was evident she was tasked with an urgent mission, signifying she was either a big shot or a key player.

Yang Yi was slightly surprised since the woman was not as simple as he had imagined.

Corkdor said gravely, "Jethro, we have no secrets from Ms. L here. Anything you’ve found out, you can share now."

Jethro cleared his throat, then spoke slowly, "Tonight, I took out two of Big Ivan’s men and swayed one to work for us. Interestingly, from him, I confirmed that Kanchelskis is responsible for Big Ivan’s shipments, and I even found out Big Ivan’s warehouse is at the Odessa port."

Corkdor exclaimed in surprise, "Oh? That’s excellent!"

Jethro continued, "Also, I learned that Kanchelskis is in a hurry to move a batch of military arms and wants to find Artem, who we’ve known for some time is a collaborator of Big Ivan’s. I think we can start with Artem to slow down Big Ivan’s shipments."

Corkdor asked, "Ms. L, what do you think?"

Corkdor was very respectful towards L, and after a moment of silence, L said gravely, "Odessa port has been under our surveillance, but we didn’t know Big Ivan’s warehouse was actually within the port area. If that’s the case, we can cut off Big Ivan’s supply line."

Jethro spoke eagerly, "Ms. L, there’s something else you should know. Big Ivan’s warehouse contains 36 cannons that need to be moved out quickly. My suggestion is not to rush taking down Big Ivan’s warehouse. We shouldn’t eliminate Kanchelskis either. We’ll monitor him and figure out how to seize that batch of cannons and frame Kanchelskis. Perhaps, it’s possible Big Ivan will send a confidant to investigate, giving us a chance to locate Big Ivan’s hideout."

Ms. L quickly replied, "That’s a good idea, we can proceed with that."
