Chapter 611: Chapter 619: Like a Dog
After reaching some sort of understanding, Jethro and Ferdinand both seemed much more relaxed. Then, with a smile, Jethro said, "For the convenience of cooperation, it would be better for us to live closer. Is there a place for us to stay?"
Ferdinand appeared somewhat hesitant, as Jethro’s visit was initially meant for him to stay together with Ferdinand. Of course, staying together was an exaggeration, but definitely, it could not be as far apart as before.
However, Ferdinand had intended to arrange for Jethro to be placed far away, but now, putting aside whether cooperation was achieved, what was crucial was that after Jethro had taken the lead between the two, the place Ferdinand had in mind for Jethro was no longer appropriate.
After hesitating for a moment, Ferdinand nodded and said, "There is a villa next to mine with eight bedrooms; you can stay in there. However... I’ll have someone clean it up for you now."
What a joke, have Ferdinand tidy up, then let him fill the place with a bunch of bugs?
Due to professional habits, the room definitely needed to be cleaned by themselves, but Yang Yi couldn’t say this. However, there was no need for him to speak, as Jethro laughed and said, "No need, we can take care of it ourselves, no trouble at all."
Ferdinand appeared somewhat embarrassed, but he still said in a stern voice to his men, "Take them over there, tell the brothers to clear the place."
Yang Yi quickly understood what Ferdinand meant by having his brothers clear the place—it was because his direct subordinates, who had been injured, were all living in the villa next door.
These men with broken arms certainly couldn’t continue to fight, and moreover, they were an unsightly presence. So, Ferdinand arranged for them to be placed in the villa next door, a place that definitely was not prepared for Jethro. But now that he’d decided to let Jethro stay there on the spot, the wounded members had to give up their spots.
The villa was large, as was the living room, but the furniture seemed somewhat outdated. However, these were minor issues. What was important was that the living room was filled with people, each with an arm in a sling.
In one night, Ferdinand’s men had received medical treatment, yet healing bones takes a hundred days. With broken arms, it would at least take half a year to recover and regain mobility. In other words, Yang Yi and his group had fought a battle and directly crippled half of Ferdinand’s direct line.
There were six people in the living room, each looking at Yang Yi and his group with hostility in their eyes. However, they couldn’t beat them when they were intact, and now with broken arms, stirring up more trouble would simply be idiotic.
So these people could only vent their dissatisfaction with their gaze, not daring even to utter a swear word. They all eked out their living on the edge of a knife—who wouldn’t know better than to watch their mouths?
"Pack up your belongings, we’re switching places."
The tone of the man who came with Yang Yi and his group was not very friendly, and those who had been sitting together chatting lethargically started to get up, dispersing listlessly.
After a while, the six people came out one after another. Some carried a bag in one hand, while others slung their guns over their shoulders, loosely grabbing some other weapons. However, the person Ferdinand had sent to lead the way, with both hands unoccupied, didn’t offer to help at all.
It was at this moment that Zhang Yong curiously asked, "Hey, where’s that monster?"
The monster referred to the big black guy. The person Ferdinand had sent frowned and shouted to the lethargic people walking out, "Where’s the monster?"
Someone turned their head, looking towards a closed door, and said weakly, "Playing dead inside, fuck..."
Muttering a curse under his breath, the responder dragged himself away.
Ferdinand’s envoy scowled and opened a door. As soon as the door was opened, Yang Yi and his group saw in the small room adjacent to the living room the black man eating at the table, head down.
To put it bluntly, that black man’s way of eating really resembled that of a dog.
The "monster" had both arms broken, his arms were splinted and wrapped with bandages, which made it impossible for him to eat with his own hands.
The black man’s room was small, furnished with a large bed and a bedside table. On the table, there was a large loaf of bread and a big soup bowl. Since he couldn’t use his hands and no one fed him, he had to kneel on the ground and bury his head in the big soup bowl to drink.
He slurped a mouthful from the soup bowl, and then the black man bit off a piece of the large loaf of bread set aside. Just then, a man sent by Ferdinand said with disgust, "Are you fucking deaf? Get up, let’s go!"
The one called a monster turned his head to look, then he said numbly, "I haven’t finished eating..."
"Fuck off!"
After being cursed at, the black man turned his head aside with a look of helplessness, wiped his mouth on the bedsheet, and struggled to stand up.
Without the help of his arms, it was a very difficult task to stand from a kneeling position, especially when not yet accustomed to it. It was easy to subconsciously reach out for support, which was exactly the mistake the black man made. He stumbled and then reached out to support himself on the ground, immediately causing him to cry out in pain.
"Idiot, hurry up!"
Yang Yi couldn’t stand it anymore. He looked at the man sent by Ferdinand and said sternly, "Enough!"
It wasn’t that Yang Yi was compassionate; he just couldn’t stand it. This black man was one of Ferdinand’s men, part of that same group.
To Yang Yi, everything he saw was unacceptable and utterly incomprehensible. Even if they couldn’t share life and death together, as comrades, wasn’t there a minimum level of assistance?
Yang Yi quickly walked behind the large black figure, reached under the black man’s armpits with both hands, and pulled with strength, then pulled again, finally lifting the large figure upright.
Yang Yi was no weakling. Although he had a fair face, he was a muscular man who consistently trained, even when he flew. It was just that the bulk of the large black man was much more than he had anticipated.
After standing up, the black man gave Yang Yi a complex look, then turned that complicated gaze toward Zhang Yong before slowly heading toward the door with his head down.
Yang Yi’s assistance, however, did not sit well with Ferdinand’s man, who said angrily, "What a waste, you..."
There was a crisp slap, as Zhang Yong fiercely slapped him across the face.
Zhang Yong pointed to the door, saying coldly, "Get out."
Ferdinand’s man’s face changed, but before he could get angry, Zhang Yong swiftly reached out and grabbed his neck, then said coldly, "Did you understand? Get out!"
With a toss, Ferdinand’s man staggered a few steps to the side, looked at Zhang Yong, but immediately left without saying a word.
