Chapter 595: Chapter 603 Demonstration

Since there were only three vehicles, if Jethro needed to travel, Trident couldn’t all follow him. Although they could squeeze into the cars, it was better to have five people in one car rather than subtracting two.

Brian, Paul, and Chris were in the lead car, while Yang Yi, Zhang Yong, and Anton were in the rear car, and Rodriguez was driving the middle car for Jethro.

What kind of lineup was this? This was the strongest lineup of the Organization of Water, or should I say, the Trident Mercenary Group.

Yang Yi was driving, Zhang Yong was the co-pilot, and Anton sat in the backseat. Glancing at Anton through the rearview mirror, Yang Yi suddenly said, "Tired?"

Anton replied in a deep voice, "Not tired."

Yang Yi continued, "You’ve met Jethro before, and now you’re seeing him again within just a few days, and you’re together. Could there be a problem?"

Anton laughed, "No problem. He’s sitting behind me, and we hardly have the chance to make eye contact. My French is spoken in a different voice, so he won’t recognize me. If he really does recognize me, that means Jethro isn’t an arms dealer but an identification expert."

"That’s good."

Yang Yi still trusted in Anton’s abilities and continued in a somber tone, "Today is Ferdinand’s first day on his way to Ukraine. This guy has mixed pretty well in Africa, snatching some territories from Big Ivan."

"Where?"

"A few countries along the Gold Coast and also South Sudan. He’s pretty ferocious, and Deyo has transferred all his power to him. If nothing unexpected happens, now the Fearless Mercenary Corps is also under his command. It’s Deyo’s ace mercenary group. It’s just hard to know what kind of strength Ferdinand has himself. I think to make a name in Africa, he must have some abilities."

Zhang Yong first scoffed with disdain, then he loudly said, "Africa? Oh man, don’t make me laugh. With those guys who don’t even know how to hold a gun properly, do you think it’s hard to wipe them out?"

"What?"

Zhang Yong, bursting with pride, said, "These African people, man, their gunfire accuracy depends on the power of faith... They... ha ha ha ha ha ha."

Zhang Yong couldn’t contain his laughter, slapping his thigh in amusement.

Yang Yi, quite puzzled, said, "What’s so funny?"

"It’s just that I’m reminded of something, too funny. I still find it hilarious now. Back when we were in Angola on a job, I saw a kid, black as coal, clutching a gun, he didn’t even know how to take the safety off. He’d aim the gun and just pull the trigger to no avail. Then, with his lips, he’d go ’da da da’ as he charged forward; damn, I nearly died laughing."

Zhang Yong was still laughing uncontrollably, but Yang Yi didn’t find it funny at all. Was a person who didn’t know how to use a gun really that hilarious?

"And then?"

"Then what? The fight was over, and someone taught the kid how to shoot. An AK is so easy to use, stuff like taking off the safety, do you even need to learn that? Then the kid learned how to shoot, and not long after, he got shot dead."

Yang Yi thought for a moment and said, "Hmm, that doesn’t really relate to our current topic of discussion, does it?"

Zhang Yong replied nonchalantly, "Then why did you ask?"

Yang Yi fell silent for a moment, then he continued, "All in all, this Ferdinand should be pretty impressive. We... we... Brother Yong, what are you laughing at?"

Zhang Yong laughed and said, "No worries, you keep going, keep going."

"Well, uh, nothing else, actually there’s not much to say."

Originally there wasn’t much to say, since Ferdinand’s strength had no direct relation to Yang Yi and his group because they weren’t his bodyguards, and besides, Jethro and Ferdinand were not going to fight.

Yang Yi soon met Ferdinand.

At least twenty people followed Ferdinand; although they were just outside the airport, each person bulged with weapons on their bodies, and behind them, at least thirty more were getting ready to get into a car.

With Ukraine in complete disarray, Ferdinand came carrying weapons openly, which would have been unthinkable for arms dealers in the past; no matter how powerful, people from the underworld ultimately couldn’t show off publicly.

After Jethro got out of the car, he walked towards a group of people and then said to a man who appeared to be in his thirties, "Hello, Ferdinand."

Ferdinand was indeed young, not very tall, but his face radiated a tough spirit. The people around him were all large and tall, especially one black man who stood at least two meters tall and looked like an iron tower wherever he stood.

Ferdinand wasn’t particularly arrogant, but he had already seen Jethro. However, he just said nothing until Jethro greeted him first, and then he smiled, "Hello, Jethro."

After a casual greeting, Ferdinand turned halfway and pointed to a middle-aged man, "Let me introduce you, this is Francois, the leader of the Fearless Mercenary Corps."

Jethro nodded to Francois, saying, "Good to see you again, hello."

Francois nodded, "Long time no see, how have you been lately?"

Jethro and Francois hugged each other.

The atmosphere was quite subtle; Jethro and Ferdinand were both Deyo’s subordinates and should have been on the same side, but the two hardly communicated. Instead, Francois, who was only employed by Deyo and technically an outsider, seemed more familiar and also warmer in his greeting.

Yang Yi was very interested in Francois because the Fearless Mercenary Corps could also be considered an old acquaintance. If Francois knew it was Yang Yi who had hit his base, without a doubt, a fight would break out immediately.

Before Jethro and Francois could catch up, Ferdinand spoke in a heavy tone, "Mr. Marcel advised me to listen to your suggestions. I want to know what your thoughts are."

Ferdinand was quite impolite indeed, what did he mean by "listen to your suggestions"? It implied that he was in charge here, and whatever Jethro said was just a suggestion, which he could choose to listen to or ignore as if Jethro were just farting.

The young and impatient Ferdinand was eager to establish his position. After a brief pause, Jethro said in a heavy voice, "I don’t have any suggestions right now, because I still don’t know how you want to proceed or where to start."

Ferdinand smiled and then turned to Jethro, "Fine, I’ll notify you when I have a plan; it seems you have your place to stay, so I won’t trouble you further. You can go back now."

What was Ferdinand doing? He clearly called Jethro over just to declare who was in charge—it was a show of strength, a way to make Jethro understand his place.

It seemed like Jethro was displeased that Ukraine was to be under Ferdinand’s say, and Ferdinand was also displeased having Jethro in his way.

Jethro was shrewd and didn’t say anything, but Boyata couldn’t hold back and suddenly said, "Did you call us here just to say this?"
