The gunshot rang out, and Terry’s occipital area turned into a gaping hole, a mixture of blood and brain matter sprayed far behind, all the way onto the wall.

Seeing Terry, who he had dealt with several times, turned into a corpse with just a few words from Elvin, Yang Yi’s feelings were complicated.

Yang Yi did not want to witness Terry’s death in front of him, not out of a sudden surge of compassion, but because Terry was after all a senior figure in the cleaners, and his death was largely related to Yang Yi.

Had it not been for Yang Yi directly reporting to Elvin about Terry, he would not have died, at least not so soon, and since Terry was a major figure of the cleaners in Europe with many underlings, Yang Yi was concerned about whether Terry’s men would cause him trouble now that he was dead.

What did this illustrate? It showed that despite Terry’s many underlings, when faced with an order from the higher-ups of the cleaners, he harbored no thoughts of resistance.

"Clean this up," Elvin ordered indifferently to the young people he had brought, then turned to Yang Yi with a serious expression. "Are you satisfied with the way this was handled?"

What was there for Yang Yi to be satisfied or dissatisfied with? It was the cleaners handling their own internal matters; he was merely a bystander. Regardless of how Elvin dealt with Terry, even if it was just to have Terry apologize to him, Yang Yi would have to say he was satisfied.

With an earnest expression, Yang Yi responded, "Satisfied, and moreover, I now have a new understanding of the cleaners’ reputation."

Terry’s body was dragged away, though the bloodstains were not yet cleaned. After the door was closed from the outside, Elvin said in a deep voice, "Let’s discuss anew the problems Organization of Water is facing in the United Kingdom."

After pondering for a moment, Elvin spoke gravely, "Since you provided us with the intelligence about the Grey-cloaked People and that batch of gold, we have held you and Organization of Water in high regard, so we decided immediately to offer you and Organization of Water the status of official partners of the cleaners. After research, we believe Organization of Water is a very potential partner. Therefore, as part of the conditions of cooperation, we are willing to pay a significant price to resolve your troubles, to demonstrate the sincerity of the cleaners’ partnership with Organization of Water."

Waving his hand, an annoyed Elvin spoke, "Terry’s presumptuous actions have compromised our sincerity. This should have been a mutually satisfactory outcome, but our sincerity turned into a game of words, our dearly bought solution became a joke, and most importantly, our reputation has been impacted. Unilaterally increasing the quote to a client is unprecedented within the cleaners, so Terry had to die, paying the price for his actions."

Yang Yi just listened quietly, while Elvin continued, "The solution remains unchanged; you are still to be a CIA agent with a secret mission. Of course, you won’t have to pay any fees, even the symbolic hundred thousand US dollars will be waived."

Yang Yi nodded and said, "I can accept this solution."

Elvin continued, "My suggestion is that you become a double agent for the CIA and MI5. If you need to prove your identity, we will help you."

Yang Yi shook his head and replied, "I’m not ready to get involved with the CIA just yet, so we can take our time with that. I’d like to contact the CIA when the time is right and use the CIA identity to establish connections with MI5 personnel. In fact, I’m not very keen on being a double agent."

Elvin, clearly intrigued, asked, "Why is that?"

"If I come up with evidence proving that I’m a CIA agent, then what do I do if the CIA really assigns me a task in the future or even decides to recall me back to the CIA?"

Elvin smiled and said, "If you prove to be valuable as a double agent, the CIA will certainly not recall you. They will simply keep your identity hidden."

"Things in this world are hard to predict. I don’t want to gamble with my future, because the CIA is not an entity I can deceive easily."

After some thought, Elvin nodded and said, "The decision is yours; I have no right to interfere. Since you’ve accepted our solution, that concludes our deal regarding the gold."

The intelligence you provided indicates that the Grey-cloaked People have deep ties to Anderson International Economic Research Association, or rather, the Anderson Research Association might as well be run by the Grey-cloaked People. We are very interested in this and now we would like to investigate the Anderson Research Association in depth. Our power in East Asia is limited, and to investigate the Anderson Research Association, I believe Organization of Water is the best candidate."

Without hesitation, Yang Yi said, "We can handle this, if it’s a mission, how much?"

Without hesitation, Elvin stated, "Two million US dollars."
