Chapter 516: Chapter 504 Let’s Get Started
He carefully weighed out the C4 and stuffed it into the PVC pipe, ramming it down, then inserted the electronic detonator into the C4. Afterward, he placed a plastic disc into the tube, and carefully inserted the metal cap into the tube. Finally, he carefully sealed the mouth of the tube with the double-sided tape that had been cut out.
Although it was a simple hollow charge armor-piercing projectile, its weight, diameter, and length had all been carefully matched. If someone else attempted to imitate and produce a few, they would certainly discover why they seem similar, yet the power and effectiveness were worlds apart.
He sighed softly, packed the matching detonator into a bag, and then stretched his limbs.
"I’m done here!"
Yang Yi immediately pushed the door open and then saw dozens of plastic tubes on the table and bed.
The PVC tubes varied in thickness, but all were marked with colored markers.
"Take all of these and place them in the positions I specify when the time comes. Only I can carry out the detonation because each detonator corresponds to a different bomb. Can we move out now?"
Yang Yi nodded, then spoke into the walkie-talkie with a heavy tone, "All ready, send a few people to help carry things, over."
After speaking, Yang Yi immediately turned and left Mike Donald’s room, then made a phone call.
"Hello, we’re all set here. Are the truck for transporting the gold and the forklift ready?"
Terry responded in a low voice, "All set, just waiting to coordinate with your actions."
Yang Yi looked at his watch and said, "It’s twelve o’clock sharp now, get all people and vehicles deployed."
"The nightclub closes at two in the morning. Shall we move after it closes?"
Yang Yi said gravely, "No, we won’t wait for the nightclub to close. We don’t know the defensive preparations inside after closure, so we will attack at one in the morning. They will never expect an attack while the nightclub is still open. I don’t want to forcefully break in after it closes, as that would expose us too early."
"Okay, understood. Our vehicles and personnel will definitely be in position on time at one in the morning."
Yang Yi hung up the phone, then spoke into the walkie-talkie in a stern voice, "Everyone check your own equipment, dress in plain clothes, and start boarding the vehicle."
Yang Yi returned to Mike Donald’s room. People had already begun picking up the bombs that were ready, while Mike Donald carried the bag with the detonator.
Brian cradled four bombs and said with a heavy voice, "Hey, are you holding the detonators in your hand?"
Mike Donald lifted the bag, smiling, "Yep."
"You better be careful. I don’t want to be blown to pieces with a bang."
Mike Donald shook his head, chuckling, "Don’t worry, if it blows up in your hands, you won’t find any pieces of you, anyway."
Picking up a few of the thinner tubes, he asked, "Alright, can we depart now?"
Yang Yi called out urgently, "Wait, here’s your bulletproof vest and helmet with a visor. You should wear them yourself. Leave the bombs to me."
Mike Donald dismissed the concern, "Just give me a hood. As for the bulletproof vest, I don’t plan on wearing it. Now, take these to the vehicle. I’m not planning to cover my face just yet; it’s very uncomfortable."
Yang Yi did not insist that Mike Donald wear the bulletproof vest. It would be soon enough to put it on when they arrived at the vehicle, because everyone would wear theirs only after arriving nearby the nightclub. After all, on the streets of Rome, a group of fully armed people encountering the police would certainly be a sight.
Once everyone was in the vehicles, Yang Yi spoke into the walkie-talkie, "Robot calling Sea God, respond if you hear me, over."
"Sea God received, over."
"Departure, over."
"Got it, Sea God. Departure, over."
After notifying Zhang Yong, Yang Yi whispered, "We’re departing now."
As the convoy was moving, half an hour later, Anton received a transmission through the earpiece hidden in his ear canal. It signalled that the operation was about to start, and everyone was in position.
"Sea God calling Ghost, respond if you receive this, over."
Anton took a deep breath and then said in a heavy tone, "Hey, I was just..."
Sabrina and Monica were both staring at their glasses of wine, having sipped on them all evening.
Hearing Anton’s words, Monica lifted her head and said with a grievous look, "Should we go back now?"
Anton nodded and said, "Yes, it’s time to go back."
Monica looked at Anton beside her and whispered, "Some things... perhaps it’s best I say them. Can you spend tonight with me? I promise! I swear that from tomorrow on, I won’t ever bother you again."
Sabrina suddenly started sobbing softly.
Anton felt a headache coming on. He couldn’t leave this place because he had a mission, so he said sternly, "Just do as I say. You two go ahead, go back to your own homes. I’ll come to find you tonight, I might be late, but I need some time alone to think."
Sabrina kept crying, and Monica suddenly snapped, "Shut up! Don’t cry! I’ve... I’ve held back long enough."
Sabrina didn’t argue with Monica; she just reached out and clutched Anton’s sleeve, then sobbed, "I’m sorry, just give me five more minutes, I won’t... I won’t appear again, just one hug, okay?"
Anton waved his hand feebly and then said sternly, "Stop crying, no more tears!"
Monica took her glass of wine, gulped it down fiercely, and snapped at Sabrina, "Shut up! No more crying. Come to my place tonight, don’t cause any more trouble for Anton now."
After speaking, Monica looked at Anton with a serious face and said, "I won’t harm her. I’ll wait with her for you. This kind of relationship can’t continue. We can talk about everything else once we’re home, okay?"
Anton nodded and said, "Alright."
Gently patting Sabrina, Anton spoke softly, "Did you hear what she said? Go home with her, and I’ll come to see you. I promise."
Sabrina nodded gently, then gave Monica a look. Despite appearing shy and helpless, she stood up.
Monica also stood up, and Anton finally breathed a sigh of relief, then smiled and said, "Wait for me, I’ll definitely come to find you."
A short moment passed, and Anton didn’t even know where he’d be heading to next—go to find them? Hell no.
The three of them stood up and walked towards the exit of the booth. Just then, two young men who appeared quite drunk came walking straight towards them.
One of the youths, with handsome black curly hair, stopped abruptly after seeing Monica. His gaze followed her face down to her chest, and then to her arms.
Monica’s arm was linked with Anton’s right arm, and Sabrina’s arm was linked with his left arm.
The youth paused, then broke into a smile, and said to Monica, "Hey, we meet again."
