Chapter 1327: Chapter 1332: Outside the Plan

The plane landed. Originally, Yang Yi and Aaron planned to land the plane in Washington D.C., but he changed course on his own without telling anyone.

So, the plane piloted by Yang Yi was locked onto by National Guard fighter jets and escorted by two F-16s directly towards New York.

Now, Yang Yi wasn’t worried about causing trouble for Aaron. Despite deviating from the route, he still maintained communication with the fighter jet pilots.

"Please proceed to the designated airport for landing immediately, or we will shoot you down!"

The fighter jet pilot could see Yang Yi very clearly because the distance between the two aircraft was merely twenty or thirty meters, and both sides could clearly see each other’s gestures.

Reggie had already become nervous, but Yang Yi gave a thumbs up to the fighter jet flying parallel to him, calmly saying, "Brother, don’t worry, we’re just on a secret mission. We will land, but I can’t tell you which airport. Perhaps you can get in touch with the CIA."

"That’s your responsibility, not for us to verify anything. If you ignore the warning and continue towards downtown New York, I will have to shoot you down!"

After 9/11, the United States is capable of doing anything against threats from the air, but Yang Yi remained unmoved and continued to fly forward.

"Perhaps we should try explaining..."

Reggie was genuinely a bit nervous, but Yang Yi calmly said, "No, we’re not in the restricted airspace yet; just wait a few more minutes."

The people on the plane couldn’t have their identities revealed. Yang Yi promised to let them leave safely without worrying about their identities being exposed, and he would certainly make that happen.

In any case, Yang Yi wasn’t afraid because regardless of the situation, Aaron wouldn’t let him get shot down, so whatever he concocted would be Aaron’s concern.

The effect Yang Yi desired was that even if someone knew which airport he would land at, they wouldn’t have time to make any specific arrangements.

Soon, the two escorting fighter jets wobbled their wings and then flew off on their own.

"Not even a goodbye."

Yang Yi said with a smile to Reggie, who looked utterly helpless.

At this moment, Brian came next to Yang Yi, leaned in, and whispered, "The next part is quite tricky. Have you thought of how to handle it?"

"I’ve thought it through. No problem."

Brian was in charge of the crucifix, so Yang Yi arranged for a helicopter to pick up Brian, and he boarded this transport aircraft along with the wounded.

If Aaron put in significant effort and resources, and in the end, Yang Yi dared to say he didn’t bring the crucifix, then Aaron would probably turn on him for real.

Finally, Yang Yi maneuvered the plane to descend, landing at the only destination for this flight—a private airport capable of handling large cargo planes.

Once the plane came to a stop, Yang Yi didn’t need to worry about anything else.

Someone would naturally come to take away all the injured, and Yang Yi and his companions just needed to wait until they were all gone and then meet Aaron.

Watching the cars leave one by one from the side of the runway, Yang Yi couldn’t help but say to Grevatov, "I’ve kept my promise; there won’t be any CIA people waiting for us at the airport. However, with this plane landing here and so many vehicles taking away the wounded, it’s impossible to keep it a secret, so whatever happens later has nothing to do with me."

Grevatov nodded and said solemnly, "Nothing to do with you."

Yang Yi took a deep breath, took the bag with the crucifix from Brian, and said to Grevatov, "Then, it’s time for you to keep your promise."

"I will go myself; I can handle it on my own."

No need to say anything more. Yang Yi gestured to Anton, then returned to the cockpit. Speaking to Reggie, who was both sleepy and exhausted from the fright, he said, "Let’s go, we can leave now."

As he spoke, Yang Yi made a call to Aaron.

The call was quickly connected.

"I’ve landed in New York..."

"I know, I’m on a helicopter, coming to meet you soon."

Some things can’t be hidden. Yang Yi said he was going to Washington to meet Aaron, yet he came directly to New York. But once the plane’s movements were detected by radar, of course, Aaron would know where he landed.

"Okay, I need to head to a safe place to wait for you. Contact me when you arrive, see you later."

Yang Yi hung up the phone; now he continued to create a tense atmosphere. After ending the call, he said solemnly to the nearby Anton and Grevatov, "Let’s go, be careful everyone."

Of course, these words were meant for Reggie to hear.

All four got off the plane, found a car at the airport, and began aimlessly wandering about on the road.

Until Yang Yi received a call from Aaron.

"Tell me your location."

This time Yang Yi couldn’t hide any longer. He told Aaron his true location, then found a spot convenient for the helicopter to land, quietly waiting for Aaron’s arrival.

The airport wasn’t in downtown New York, so finding a place for a helicopter to land was easy. After waiting for about twenty minutes, Yang Yi and his group saw a helicopter gradually land on the ground.

The helicopter door opened, Aaron jumped out, followed by one of his escorts. The two quickly ran, heads down, toward the car where Yang Yi and the others were.

Aaron only brought two people, which indeed surprised Yang Yi—not because Aaron should have brought more escorts due to his high status, but because, given they were supposed to hand over a very important crucifix, Aaron should have been more vigilant.

But Aaron still came with just one person, which genuinely puzzled Yang Yi. However, there was nothing more to say at this point; the handover was completed.

Yang Yi opened the car door and got out, making a formal gesture, with Anton and Grevatov on either side, both holding guns in their hands to guard him.

Finally meeting Aaron, Yang Yi was thinking of saying something, but Aaron directly extended his hand and asked, "Where is it?"

"Here it is."

Yang Yi didn’t hesitate; he promptly took the item from the bag and, without even bothering to wrap it, handed it directly to Aaron, saying, "Here."

Aaron took the crucifix, glanced at it briefly, then took a deep breath, his face filled with excitement, exclaiming, "Yes, it’s the one! Very good! Very good!"

Having said "very good" twice, Aaron instantly stated, "I have to leave now. I will contact you soon; it won’t take long. I promise to fulfill what I promised. Rest for two days."

Yang Yi and his group didn’t need to pretend; they already looked exhausted. Reggie, who remained in the car, was snoring loudly in his sleep.

Before Yang Yi could say anything, Aaron held onto the item, turned around, and left.

At that moment, a small hole suddenly appeared on Aaron’s back, and blood quickly started to gush out from it.

Aaron’s escort’s face changed drastically, and he grabbed the staggered and fallen Aaron, shouting, "The officer’s been shot!"

No gunshot was heard, yet Aaron was shot. This was completely outside of Yang Yi’s expectations because this was truly not part of his plan.
