Chapter 1156: Chapter 1161 Anna is Right
It was originally about creating trouble, but now trouble has come looking for him. For Yang Yi, it’s not just a matter of helping out anymore or finding trouble for no reason; it’s about how big a mess he wants to make of this issue.
Anton is a capable assistant, but Yang Yi left him in New York, because someone capable had to be by Boer’s side. Considering Anton’s comprehensive skills and abilities, if he didn’t stay, who would?
So, Yang Yi only had Xiao Ran and Bonnie by his side.
Having beautiful women for company isn’t always a good thing; at least, this time it isn’t. Having something to eat for one beauty and not being able to even look at the other is Yang Yi’s current situation.
But luckily, Yang Yi is definitely not in the mood for any relationship games right now.
Yang Yi was anxious.
When the plane landed at London airport, Yang Yi was startled by the people waiting to greet him.
Because the elite forces of the Organization of Water were all there, not one missing.
Yang Yi only had one thought: what kind of person could have provoked Danny to make the Organization of Water mobilize collectively for him? Even though Anton was missing, this was indeed the largest force mobilized by the Organization of Water since its founding.
"Why have you all come?"
Annastasia stepped forward and said in a deep voice, "You have never requested such a rapid mobilization of our strongest forces, so naturally, I brought everyone."
"How about Justin over there?"
"He’s no longer in need of our help. It is now confirmed that neither Big Ivan nor Gong Yang intends to use Justin as a puppet, so Justin confidently let us leave. Moreover, he believes it’s better to keep our presence hidden, so as not to affect his relationship with Gong Yang."
Yang Yi nodded, saying, "That makes sense. I’ll meet him after I deal with things here."
Anna said flatly, "We’ve been here for six hours. During this time, we tried to contact your friend but failed. The phone number you provided is no longer reachable. We had Tang Guo check the signal location and found that the signal had been blocked."
Yang Yi’s heart tightened.
He was not panicking; Yang Yi was not the type to lose composure at the first sign of bad news. After pondering for a moment, he nodded and said, "There shouldn’t be any problem. The Dark Night Knights have some counter-surveillance skills. They likely blocked the signal to keep the last tool available for contacting me. Perhaps they are waiting for me; they won’t turn on their phones until my plane lands."
Checking his watch, Yang Yi continued, "Have you completed the background check?"
Anna shook her head, saying, "The time was short, and we lacked the necessary information, so the investigation results were poor. Tang Guo’s brother got some news, but I don’t think those are valuable. Naturally, after we find your friend, we will get the firsthand information, so we haven’t spread out people to gather intel but instead concentrated our forces waiting for your arrival."
Having Annastasia as an assistant was incredibly reassuring.
Yang Yi glanced at everyone, then waved his hand, saying, "Let’s go, find a place to settle first, and plan our next step once we contact the people of the Dark Night Knights."
The group, arriving earlier, had already completed the basic preparations. At least the cars were rented, and there were definitely plenty.
The car Yang Yi was in was driven by Zhang Yong. Yang Yi sat in the passenger seat, and in the back sat Brian and Annastasia.
When Annastasia was around, Brian spoke very little. Yang Yi was curious how two people, well advanced in age, could manage to stare at each other all day without getting bored. Well, mostly Brian.
"Brother Yong, how many people can we bring in?"
Zhang Yong looked helpless as he said, "In the United Kingdom, not many. Who would be foolish enough to come to the UK for mercenary work? The costs would skyrocket. Besides, just for Danny’s stuff, is it worth bringing a couple of hundred mercenaries? With us here, what can’t be handled? It’s just gang warfare. Are you bringing a battalion of mercenaries to crash the party? That’s overkill for a small problem."
Yang Yi was speechless. Zhang Yong was getting into it. He exclaimed, "Speaking of which, though Danny’s crew is small, they can still hold their ground in London. Many are veterans; even after so many years, they fought their way up with courage and blood. Now each has a family, a business, and wealth. It’s hard to get them to risk their lives again."
Yang Yi whispered, "The captains are still willing to risk their lives."
"Yes, they’re willing, but understand, back then, they chose to risk their lives because they had nothing else but their lives. Now, which of them isn’t filthy rich? Do you still expect them to grab their guns and rush forward at any sign of trouble? Times have changed."
Somewhat sentimentally, Zhang Yong pointed at his own nose and loudly declared, "What am I? I’m a mercenary, then and now!"
"Brother Yong, you’re not a mercenary anymore..."
"Well, despite being on your pirate ship, I’m still doing mercenary work, right? As for Danny, he went to manage a restaurant! I’m telling you, the guy is just pretending!"
"Ahem, Brother Yong, back to the main point."
"Wasn’t I on the main point? Believe me, ten years ago, neither the Russian Gang nor the North African Gang would dare touch him. The Dark Night Knights were fearless killers, not interested in petty gains or picking fights with tough, broke guys. Isn’t that right? Now, Danny’s rich, their territory is significant, and they’re not as wild as gangs. Who else would local gangs target if not him?"
"Ahem..."
Yang Yi coughed lightly again and then turned to Anna in the back, saying, "Where should we settle down?"
"We have secured three hotels. They’re dispersed but not far from each other."
Zhang Yong finally stopped talking.
Yang Yi thought for a moment and said, "If the captain was arrested by the police, it shouldn’t be hard to find out where he’s held. We should start with that angle. If we can’t get in touch with the Dark Night Knights, we’ll have to start on our own, rescue Danny first, and then consider other matters."
Annastasia shook her head, saying, "No, my idea is not to rush to rescue Danny. He might suffer some hardship with the police but shouldn’t face any significant problems, at least not death. We should first figure out the situation, identify Danny’s enemies, and then deal with all of Danny’s enemies before rescuing him. Rescuing him first would increase enemy vigilance and complicate our operations."
Brian nodded repeatedly, saying, "Yes, eliminate all enemies first, and then rescue. Anna is right."
