Chapter 1114: Chapter 1119: Complications Arise

Sao Paulo is Brazil’s largest city and can also be considered a world-class metropolis, but even as Brazil’s largest and most prosperous city, it too has the distinctive Brazilian slums.

On one side is the bustling urban scenery, yet just across a road lies the favelas built upon little hills, a sight that seems all too familiar in Brazil.

The place where Yang Yi and Nicholas clashed centers around the hotel where Yang Yi was first taken after getting off the plane.

After leaving the hotel with his people and encountering and fighting with Nicholas’s men for the first time, although he had escaped from the area Nicholas could monitor, Nicholas would definitely start searching centered on where the fight occurred.

Therefore, when Yang Yi obtained the locations where Nicholas’s men were gathering through the cleaners, he was certain to thoroughly study the nearby terrain.

Being able to walk boldly on the streets with Anton requires preparation from more than just Paul and the other few snipers.

Now, Yang Yi and Anton were walking ahead, with Xiao Ran and Bonnie following behind them.

Yang Yi strode quickly, navigating a narrow path, but soon he passed through the path and entered a cluster of disorderly tin shacks.

Yang Yi entered the favela.

The favela was bustling, and although simple, it was not dirty; particularly the section they entered was almost covered in graffiti, which surprisingly had an artistic vibe.

There are virtually no municipal facilities in the slums, including streetlights, and the small tin shacks that should have lights are now engulfed in darkness.

While intense gunfights were occurring nearby, no one was foolish enough to come out and see the action; as one of the cities with the highest murder rate in the world, the citizens of Sao Paulo knew how to avoid risks.

The four moved silently through the slum, and occasionally, someone who had no choice but to travel at night, upon seeing four armed figures marching quickly in the darkness, would swiftly turn and quietly leave.

Yang Yi stood at an intersection that wasn’t quite a crossroad, then he began to ponder silently.

The three stood beside Yang Yi, with no one speaking to disturb his thoughts, just silently on guard all around.

There are three nearly parallel paths here that lead in three different directions in the distance. Yang Yi remembered the approximate locations, but now he needed to determine which one because the feel of the neighborhood didn’t quite match the satellite map.

There are no maps in the slum; unless one has lived there for a long time, figuring out the complex web of roads inside is nearly impossible.

But Yang Yi could do it, because he had a brain like a photocopier.

Now Yang Yi needed to recall the map for review; he didn’t remember just any road, he remembered the entire map.

After pondering on the spot for two minutes, Yang Yi gestured, and so Anton and Xiao Ran immediately followed his footsteps, though Bonnie hesitated for a moment.

Suppressing the impulse to ask Yang Yi, Bonnie quietly followed behind the three.

Yang Yi walked through various paths, up hills, down slopes, past stairs, passing what seemed to Bonnie like indistinguishable tin houses.

Finally, Yang Yi left the slum and headed towards a dense forest yet to be overtaken by the favela.

Yang Yi silently made his way into the dense shrubs, but this time he only walked forward about twenty meters and came to the edge of a cliff that was about five or six meters high.

Yang Yi was at the top of the rock face, with a road right below.

Yang Yi took a light breath, then pointed to a place about five hundred meters away, speaking softly, "There are lights over there, car lights. If I’m not mistaken, Nicholas’s car is right there."

Though the lights of the car could be seen, the car itself was not visible; without a sight of the car, naturally, there was no way to spot and shoot Nicholas.

"We need to advance two hundred meters, go around a bend, and then we’ll be able to see and shoot Nicholas—if he’s really there."

After talking indifferently, Yang Yi turned to look at Xiao Ran and said, "From the perspective of a professional sniper, where do you think the enemy would set an ambush?"

"Over there, one must go there to shoot, but if I were to set an ambush, there would be too many places to choose from. However, to ensure a good line of sight for spotting and immediately opening fire, it would be over there."

Xiao Ran pointed to a row of small houses and said, "I would choose to be there."

Anton held up a thermal imaging scanner and looked around, saying, "Queen’s right, there are two people there, up on the roof."

Yang Yi smiled and said, "Good, then the next step is simple. We need someone to take the only shooting position. Before entering that position, we have to take out the two ambushing marksmen."

Anton spoke solemnly, "The timing must be grasped correctly. We must eliminate the two snipers and immediately appear at the shooting position and open fire, taking out Nicholas before he realizes what’s happening."

There are two gunmen on the roof; they must be taken care of. But after taking out the two gunmen on the roof, Nicholas would surely notice. He wouldn’t keep staying in the same spot as a target, so he would definitely move, and once Nicholas moved, the chance to shoot him would be lost.

The only method now is for someone to sneak to the closest place near the shooting position, yet remain undetected by the ambushing gunmen. After eliminating the two snipers, the one responsible for the final shot must act immediately to reach the shooting position and then fire.

The interval between taking out the two gunmen and eliminating Nicholas had to be short, the time had to be compressed to the shortest possible duration. This was difficult, very difficult.

After observing for a while, Xiao Ran spoke in a deep voice, "I can get as close as less than twenty meters from the shooting position. You shoot the two gunmen, and I’ll go out and take out Nicholas."

Yang Yi said indifferently, "We have spotted two gunmen, but where is Cupid?"

Xiao Ran looked at Yang Yi, then turned her gaze towards Anton.

Anton shrugged his shoulders and said, "Of course he’s hiding somewhere, ready to take you out, and he’s hiding so well that we can’t find him."

Yang Yi took a deep sigh and said, "No way to find Cupid, unless I personally become the shooter to take out Nicholas. The three of you, two prepare to shoot the snipers, one prepare to take out the Cupid targeting me."

Anton frowned and said, "Impossible, doing this, you’re almost certainly dead."

Yang Yi said indifferently, "Taking out two targets at the same time isn’t too bad."

Xiao Ran suddenly said, "You’ve said it yourself, the purpose of our trip is to take out Nicholas. You also said that once Nicholas is dead, Cupid no longer has a reason to keep killing you. So let’s not make things more complicated, we ignore Cupid, just kill Nicholas, so it should be me who goes."
