Chapter 95: Chapter 95: We Divorce, I Give Her My Place

Mu Boyan nodded, "Yes."

The girl walked up to An Yan, "Hello, I am Mu Yingying. I’ve long admired your reputation. For the past two years, we have been sending people to look for you, but there has been no news of you."

"I’m very sorry, I’ve been researching reagents in the lab for the past two years, so I’ve had little contact with the outside world," An Yan explained.

Mu Yingying broke into tears of joy, "This time, my mother can be saved."

Mu Qianfan nodded, "She can be saved indeed. An Yan is truly a blessing to our Mu Family, helping us get in touch with Y. It’s a pity she can’t come today due to other matters."

Mu Boyan nodded, "That’s true, we must properly thank that girl another day."

An Yan slightly curved her lips, feeling that the members of the Mu Family seemed quite easy to get along with.

She glanced at her wristwatch and saw that fifteen minutes had passed and Fu Shiyan was still waiting for her downstairs.

She said, "I’ll first check Mrs. Mu’s pulse."

Mu Yingying stepped aside, and An Yan stepped forward, laying two fingers on the woman’s pulse. Her eyes flickered subtly as she withdrew her hand without a sound.

"Mrs. Mu’s pulse doesn’t seem to have any issues," she looked at Mu Boyan, "Professor Mu, I’d like to discuss the surgery plan with you."

Mu Boyan nodded, "Alright, please come this way."

The two went to the consultation room, and An Yan cut straight to the point, "Professor Mu, haven’t you found any abnormalities in the blood tests?"

"No, my mother’s body indicators have always been within reasonable ranges."

An Yan looked at him firmly, "Just now, when I took Mrs. Mu’s pulse, her pulse was sometimes normal, sometimes erratic."

Mu Boyan was startled, "But the blood tests did indeed come back normal."

"I have never made a mistake in taking pulses." An Yan asked, "I want to know who is responsible for Mrs. Mu’s liquid diet or nutritional fluids on a daily basis?"

Mu Boyan pushed up his glasses, "My younger sister, Mu Yingying."

An Yan slightly knit her brows, "Aside from your sister, is anyone else involved?"

"There are also two caregivers."

After a moment of pondering, An Yan said, "Professor Mu, I hope no third party knows about our conversation just now. Including your sister."

"That’s fine."

"Then monitor the caregivers’ daily work for any anomalies."

Mu Boyan frowned, "You mean..."

An Yan nodded, "Of course, that’s just one potential cause, but what’s most important is the blood clot inside Mrs. Mu’s skull. Both of us understand that this clot is like a time bomb, it could blow at any moment. The surgery is scheduled for next Monday at nine in the morning. We’ll do some routine checks over the weekend. Does that work for you?"

Mu Boyan nodded, "I’ll follow your instructions, as no one can match your expertise in neurosurgery."

At that moment, the door opened.

The girl walked in, her eyes earnest, "Divine doctor, I beg you to cure my mother."

She bent her lips in a slight smile, "I’ll do my utmost."

"Thank you." Mu Yingying’s eyes reddened, "If there’s ever anything I can do for you in the future, I’ll be sure to give it my all."

An Yan smiled, looking at Mu Boyan, "Professor Mu, I have other matters to attend to, so I will take my leave now. If there’s anything in the next couple days, just contact me directly."

An Yan handed over a piece of paper, "My contact information is on there."

Mu Boyan accepted it and placed it in his suit pocket, "Alright, I will see you out."

Upon reaching the door, An Yan turned around, "No need to see me out, take good care of Mrs. Mu."

The other members of the Mu Family gathered around, all wanting to see An Yan off, but she declined each one.

An Yan stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for the first floor.

After exiting the elevator, she turned into the ladies’ restroom where Bi Chong was waiting for her, holding a bag.

"Boss, you finally came. Someone came looking for me twice, and they didn’t give me friendly looks."

An Yan grabbed the bag and smiled, "Maybe they saw your huge feet and guessed you’re a cross-dressing boss. Maybe someone will come to capture you soon."

She turned into the cubicle, quickly took off the wig, magnetic patches, and the human skin mask on her face, changed her clothes, and came out, handing over the bag, "Check An Yirou’s movements for me."

Bi Chong nodded and left.

An Yan adjusted her hair in front of the mirror and left the hospital.

Fu Shiyan’s car was parked not far away. Seeing An Yan jog over, he leaned over to open the passenger door.

"Were you getting anxious?" An Yan took a deep breath.

Fu Shiyan saw there were still three minutes on the countdown, pinched her cheek, "If you hadn’t come down, I was going to go up."

An Yan kissed him as a thank you, "Thanks for waiting for me."

"Did you exchange a few words with Mu Qianfan?"

An Yan thought back, "Two sentences."

"That’s more like it." Fu Shiyan laughed, "I need to go back to the old house, but I’ll drop you off at Bishui Bay first."

"Old baby looking for you?"

Hearing this phrase, Fu Shiyan couldn’t help but laugh, "My mom asked me to come back."

"Because of Su Manxi?" An Yan’s first thought was this.

"Not sure yet."

Fu Shiyan dropped An Yan off at Bishui Bay before returning to the family home.

Fu Haichuan and Zhou Yi were sitting on the couch, their expressions grave.

When they saw Fu Shiyan walk in, Fu Haichuan picked up the teacup from the coffee table and threw it at him.

Fu Shiyan reacted quickly, dodging to the side, but the spilled tea still wet his white shirt.

He brushed the tea stains off his shirt and looked at Fu Haichuan with a detached coolness, "If you came back just to vent your emotions, then don’t call me next time."

Fu Haichuan picked up the photo on the coffee table and threw it on the ground, "Look at this, what have you done?"

Fu Shiyan looked at the crumpled photo at his feet, bent down to pick it up, and carefully smoothed out the wrinkles over the girl’s image, "The shot isn’t bad. It’s a shame you wrinkled it."

"So you’re with An Yan?" Fu Haichuan glared at him.

By now, Fu Shiyan didn’t want to hide it anymore, even though An Yan had told him not to say anything.

Just as he was about to speak, Fu Jinqiao interrupted him, slowly descending the staircase.

"I was there too, why didn’t they take a picture of me? Obviously, someone did this on purpose. I remember lots of female stars wanting to take pictures with the younger uncle, trying to get involved in rumors for more attention. Besides, An Yan is Bai Qinghan’s girlfriend!"

Fu Shiyan: I really want to praise you for your quick thinking! She’s my girlfriend!

Fu Haichuan frowned, "Is that true? I’m starting to doubt it now!"

Fu Jinqiao held her chin high, "Of course, when have I ever lied?"

Fu Haichuan snorted, "You lie without batting an eye!"

Zhou Yi, who hadn’t spoken yet, sighed, "I thought Shiyan was really together with An Yan. I was quite pleased about it because I really like that girl."

Fu Haichuan: "..."

Fu Jinqiao: "..."

Fu Haichuan only felt a headache coming on. He looked at Fu Shiyan, "You better not let me find out An Yan is actually your girlfriend, and Bai Qinghan is just a cover. The Fu family will never allow this woman to enter! You should spend more time visiting Manxi, after all, she was injured because of you. I heard that the caretaker you hired burned her. You need to take responsibility for that."

Zhou Yi glared at him, "Stop threatening everyone, who have you ever successfully threatened in all these years? Shiyan has no feelings for Manxi, what are you randomly matching them for? If you value Manxi so much, why don’t we get a divorce and I’ll make way for her!"

Fu Haichuan: "..."
