Chapter 91: Chapter 91: My Little One Has Such a Big Reputation
An Yan’s lips curled into a mocking smile, "Mr. An, didn’t I say not to call me ever again?"
An Zaili sighed, "An Yan, no matter what, I’m still your father. Yirou might be your half-sister, but she’s still related to you by blood. The press conference that day wasn’t aimed at you; it was just to clear things up for the child Yirou is carrying. After all, the child is innocent; it’s not right for him to be born with a stigma. And you’ve really misunderstood; Yirou is seven weeks pregnant, not four."
Listening to the other party’s defense, An Yan asked, "Are you done making excuses?"
"Making excuses? An Yan, Dad really wants to have a proper talk with you."
An Yan chuckled lightly, "Got the court summons, huh?"
An Zaili: "..."
An Yan sighed lightly, "Well, since you all seem so eager to see me and get my forgiveness, it’s not impossible. Here’s what we’ll do, I’ll visit the hospital the day after tomorrow, just be ready to receive me."
She hung up the phone and picked up her chopsticks, "Eat and drink as usual, don’t dwell on things too much. Strike when needed, both white lotuses and green tea can turn into fertilizers."
Shiyan laughed, "You really have a way with words. Should I accompany you the day after tomorrow?"
"If you go, they might not perform their best, and I might even have to play along again, which would be quite troublesome. I’ll go by myself."
"Then I’ll pick you up at the hospital entrance."
An Yan raised an eyebrow, "Maybe you should wait for me at the police station instead."
Shiyan: "..."
At night, Mu Qianfan sent the files to An Yan’s email.
An Yan enlarged the image and saw that the patient’s blood clot was located beneath the dura mater.
Such a tricky position, with the success rate of surgery only at ten percent. And with the Mu Family’s overwhelming power, a failed surgery would end the attending doctor’s career.
No wonder so many medical experts were reluctant to take the case, no one wanted to take such a risk.
An Yan reviewed the patient’s past medical records, other than the brain blood clot, there were no other issues with the patient’s health.
However, the surgery shouldn’t be delayed, as the blood clot was like a ticking time bomb; if the blood vessel burst causing arterial bleeding, it could lead to rapid death.
Even if that didn’t happen, once the blood clot pressed on a nerve, even if the surgery was successful, the chances of regaining consciousness could be reduced, or it could lead to aftereffects such as blindness or paralysis.
An Yan called Mu Qianfan directly, "Brother Mu, Professor Fang has contacted Y, and Y said he can perform the surgery."
Mu Qianfan was somewhat excited, "Thank you, An Yan, I’m going to contact my second brother right away to transfer our mother from M country back here. It will probably take two days. Can Y wait?"
"If Y has agreed to treat, he will definitely wait. Contact me when your aunt returns."
Mu Qianfan’s voice was somewhat choked, "An Yan, thank you, really thank you."
"No need to be polite, I’m just helping to connect you." An Yan heard the water stop in the bathroom, so she said, "Brother Mu, call me if there’s anything."
The bathroom door opened, and a man with long legs stepped out, his waist only wrapped in a white towel.
He held a towel and wiped his stiff hair, "I heard you on the phone."
"Oh, it was Brother Mu. I asked Fang Zhou to contact Y to operate on his mother."
Shiyan raised an eyebrow, "Y agreed?"
"Agreed."
"Didn’t expect my little one to have such clout, to even get Y to agree." Shiyan put the towel on the table, looking down at her.
An Yan blinked, "Brother Mu said my eyes and his mother’s eyes look very similar. I thought it was quite fateful, so I helped out where I could."
Shiyan pinched her chin, "That makes sense, they are quite similar, after all, not many people have deer-like eyes. You don’t resemble An Zaili at all; it seems you take after your mother."
An Yan shrugged, "Actually, my impression of my mother isn’t that clear, and her photos and such are all gone too, probably taken care of by Du Xinlan."
Fu Shiyan hugged her with heartache, "From now on, you have me."
An Yan gave a soft hum and hugged him tightly in return.
In the blink of an eye, two days passed, and Fu Shiyan escorted An Yan to Hong’en Hospital.
"I’ll wait right here for you."
An Yan unbuckled her seatbelt, leaned over, and kissed his cheek, "Don’t worry, I’ve been looking forward to this day for a long time."
"Keep yourself safe."
"Got it."
Watching the girl get out of the car and walk into the hospital, the smile gradually faded from Fu Shiyan’s face, and he called Han Yang, "Have the bodyguards keep a close watch from the shadows. If even a single hair on her head is harmed, I’ll hold you responsible."
Han Yang replied, "Yes, President Fu."
Pushing open the ward door, An Yan walked in.
An Zaili stepped forward, his face expressing excitement, "An Yan, you’re here."
Du Xinlan and Yang Suhua, however, were glaring coldly, as if they wished they could bite her to death.
An Yan curved her lips, "Is this how you welcome me?"
Yang Suhua sprang up from the chair and quickly walked to the door of the ward, pointing at her, "Calamity! Ever since you came back, the An Family hasn’t had a single peaceful day! Why didn’t you just die in the countryside!"
An Yan was not annoyed, having heard Yang Suhua say this hundreds of times before.
She clicked her tongue lightly, "If you invited me here just to spout nonsense at me, then there really is no point."
Du Xinlan walked up to the hospital bed, helped An Yirou off it, and walked step by step towards An Yan.
With a malicious curve to her lips, she intensified her tone, "You wretched woman, you caused a scene at the wedding, ruined Yirou, and publicly declared Yirou to be an illegitimate daughter. You forced your father to leave home empty-handed, and even tried to drive us out of the villa. You’ve gone too far! Today, we’re going to make you pay the corresponding price."
An Yirou’s face was pale, but she was laughing with a particular thrill and excitement, "However you ruined me, I will ruin you!"
After she finished speaking, she lunged at An Yan with Du Xinlan aiding her.
An Yan, having anticipated this, sidestepped, and An Yirou lunged into empty air.
Seeing this, An Yirou deliberately threw herself towards the rail at the foot of the bed, ramming her stomach against it hard.
"Ah! It hurts, it’s killing me! Help!"
Du Xinlan wailed as if it was the end of the world, "Oh my God! She’s killing someone!"
Yang Suhua quickly opened the ward door and shouted, "Doctor, nurse, come quickly! Someone’s committing murder!"
Medical staff rushed into the ward and saw An Yirou covered in sweat, with blood dripping at her feet. They immediately called for a portable hospital bed and lifted An Yirou onto it.
An Yirou stared fiercely at An Yan, revealing a ferocious smile, "You’re done for, you’re completely finished."
An Zaili, worried that An Yan might escape, stepped forward to grab her.
An Yan swept him with a cold gaze, "Touch me and don’t blame me if I leave you searching for your teeth on the floor."
An Zaili suddenly remembered the video online of An Yan hitting someone, and instantly withdrew his hand, "You, don’t even think about running. You’re not off the hook for pushing Yirou down!"
An Yan looked somber, "An Zaili, I and An Yirou are both your daughters, why do you treat me this way?"
