Spoiled By My Ex-Fiance's Uncle
Chapter 56 How was the lipstick spent?

Chapter 56: Chapter 56 How was the lipstick spent?

An Yan’s eyelashes trembled lightly as she noticed a hint of jest in the man’s eyes.

Fu Jinqiao was innocent and kind; she did not want the young girl to think of her that way.

She stood up and adjusted her gown, only to see Fu Jinqiao rushing over with Assistant Han.

Fu Shiyan stood up, still looking as distinguished as ever, "It’s nothing, just a bit of stomach discomfort, an old problem."

Fu Jinqiao let out a sigh of relief, "You scared me to death just now. I was afraid something would go wrong with your old arms and legs."

Fu Shiyan: "..."

He glanced at her and went downstairs.

Fu Jinqiao, ignoring the man’s cold look, turned to An Yan, "Hey, An Yan, why is your lipstick smeared?"

An Yan’s eyes shimmered, "I had just finished the rest of the juice in the cup when my younger uncle made a pained sound, startling me. My hand trembled, and I spilled the juice."

Fu Jinqiao nodded, "My younger uncle really knows how to cause trouble. Here, take the lipstick and touch it up."

"Alright."

...

Tonight’s auction was a grand affair, held at the Jiangcheng Conference Center, attended by the elites of the business and political worlds, as well as top celebrities.

Before the auction began, everyone was socializing in the banquet hall, clinking glasses and toasting one another.

The arrival of Fu Shiyan inevitably drew everyone’s attention.

Major figures from all fields flocked to him, hoping to strike up a conversation and become business partners.

An Yan, on the other hand, was pulled into the dessert area by Fu Jinqiao.

While picking pastries with tongs into her plate, she said, "In such settings, my younger uncle is like the moon surrounded by stars, and we’re just in charge of eating."

An Yan watched as Fu Jinqiao’s plate quickly piled up like a small mountain, silently admiring the girl’s robust appetite.

"An Yan, this little pudding is delicious, try some."

An Yan smiled, "Okay, I’ll pick a piece."

They carried their plates over to a sofa by the window to sit down.

At that moment, a graceful figure approached them.

"Hello."

An Yan looked up and saw it was Qiao Jie, Fu Shiyan’s matchmaking partner.

Qiao Jie was wearing a champagne-colored halter neck evening gown, revealing her beautifully straight shoulders. Her excellent demeanour showed poise and elegance in every move, "Do you mind if I join you?"

Fu Jinqiao laughed, "Not at all, have a seat, it’s public seating after all."

Qiao Jie sat on a single sofa and surveyed the two, "I heard that President Fu only has one niece."

Fu Jinqiao took a bite of her pudding and said, "I’m Fu Jinqiao and she’s my coach, An Yan."

"Coach?"

Fu Jinqiao nodded, "A combat coach. An Yan is super impressive!"

Qiao Jie pondered briefly, "I remember that Young Master Fu’s ex-fiancee was also named An Yan, right?"

Fu Jinqiao’s eyes whirled, "Just a coincidence of names."

Qiao Jie understood; it was just a coach.

Without family background or connections, she was destined to have no ties with the Fu family.

She said with a smile, "I didn’t expect Miss An to be so impressive, and even know combat. I’m also really interested in fighting. Jinqiao, can I come to the old house and learn with you?"

Fu Jinqiao, though innocent, was not foolish; she knew this woman wanted to get close to her younger uncle through her.

She declined tactfully, "An Yan is already swamped just teaching me."

Qiao Jie turned to An Yan, "Miss An, would that be alright? I could pay you double the salary."

Everyone could see where this was going; unless An Yan lost her mind, she would never give a rival a chance to get close to her man.

She was about to refuse when a voice spoke up.

"Has sister become Jinqiao’s coach?"

An Yan watched An Yirou approach with two women.

Qiao Jie glanced at An Yirou, "You call An Yan sister? Who are you?"

An Yirou blinked, "Hello Miss Qiao, I’m An Yirou, Fu Chenyu’s fiancee. An Yan is my sister."

Qiao Jie thought for a moment and then looked at An Yan, "So you’re Young Master Fu’s former fiancee? Weren’t you denying that before?"

An Yan chuckled lightly, "Miss Qiao, I don’t think boasting about one’s fiancé cheating with one’s stepsister is something to be proud of."

Qiao Jie instantly grasped the convoluted situation. Previously, she had only heard that the An Family’s eldest daughter, An Yan, was a bit of a rebel, which is why Fu Chenyu broke off the engagement with her. She hadn’t expected the reality to be this version.

An Yirou wore a distressed expression on her face, "Sister, I know you’re upset about the broken engagement, but isn’t it because of your personal reasons?"

An Yan scoffed lightly, "An Yirou, I’ve told you before not to mess with me. You really don’t learn, do you!"

An Yirou wiped her tears, "Sister has never liked me, no matter how much I try to please her."

The two women by her side jumped to her defense.

"What reason did the Fu Family have to break off the engagement and choose you over Yirou, if not for your indecency!"

"Just look at the way you dressed before, like someone who works in a nightclub!"

"Not taking proper care of yourself, you even falsely accuse others!"

"Despite Yirou always keeping her grievances to herself, you really are an ungrateful wretch!"

...

Fu Jinqiao sprang up angrily, "Shut up! You don’t know a damn thing! An Yirou, stop your whining here; I know exactly what you are like!"

An Yirou sobbed quietly, "Jinqiao, don’t let Sister deceive you."

"Get lost! If you bully An Yan again, I’ll beat you up!"

An Yan stood up, gesturing for Fu Jinqiao not to get angry.

She walked over to An Yirou, and facing the person who was half a head shorter than herself, she directly grabbed the fabric at her chest and lifted her, "An Yirou, you will pay a painful price for trying to provoke me!"

She pushed her away and then gave the two women who were spouting nonsense a sweeping glance, "I’ve taken note of you two as well."

Intimidated by An Yan’s formidable presence, the two women quickly left, supporting An Yirou.

An Yan turned to Qiao Jie, "Sorry, my hand is dirty; I’m going to wash it."

Qiao Jie nodded slightly. Truth be told, she had been scared by An Yan just now.

Before, she had thought that An Yan was the gentle and serene type, but she realized just then that it all appeared to be a facade. It was coldness, ruthlessness, composure, and calmness that truly defined her.

Fu Jinqiao watched An Yan walk away and then hurried after her.

When the two came back, Fu Jinqiao was still cursing An Yirou. Suddenly, her eyes lit up and she pointed toward the entrance.

"Look, it’s Mu Qianfan! Oh my god, he’s so handsome!"

An Yan was dragged by her to the doorway.

The man wore a dark blue suit and had a tall figure. With just a small curl of his lips, he elicited screams from a crowd of fangirls.

This was none other than Mu Qianfan, the top actor in Hua Country and the third son of the Mu Family.

Fu Jinqiao gazed at the man with starry eyes, "An Yan, I really like him. When I turn twenty, I’m going to ask Grandpa to go to the Mu Family to propose."

An Yan: "..."

Fu Jinqiao suddenly felt a warm flow from her nose, "It’s over, it’s over, I’m bleeding from the nose, An Yan, help me..."

An Yan quickly rifled through her bag.

At that moment, a well-manicured hand reached out, offering a handkerchief, "Little sister, here you go."

Fu Jinqiao shakily accepted it, gazing at the god-like man, "Thank you, Third Young Master Mu."

Mu Qianfan’s eyes smiled phoenix-like, "You’re welcome."

He looked at An Yan with an appraising and inquisitive gaze, "Are you an actress?"

An Yan shook her head, "No, I’m not."

"You’re very beautiful." Mu Qianfan rarely complimented people, so his words were quite surprising.

An Yan smiled, "Thank you."

Mu Qianfan nodded slightly before leaving.

Fu Jinqiao, holding her nose, said, "An Yan, Third Young Master Mu complimented you! I’m so envious!"

An Yan looked at her disheveled little face, "Let’s go, wash up in the restroom."

Fu Jinqiao nodded, "Right, I need to wash this handkerchief and keep it as a treasure."

An Yan: "..."

Not far away, Fu Shiyan’s face was stern, and he was distracted even as someone spoke to him.

He watched the direction An Yan and Fu Jinqiao had left towards, then glanced at Mu Qianfan.

Tsk!

She really wasn’t someone who could be careless with.

A whiff of perfume drifted over, and Fu Shiyan frowned slightly as Qiao Jie stood by his side.
